Yes, there may be some truth to it, and that's sad. I do not understand the psych of hardcore obsessive shippers. It can be done in a fun, lighthearted way and should not leak into real life. I remember a Sahad (Sajal and Had) shipper on Twitter saying that they were hospitalized and had no will to live and another one stating that they went to Pirs and got "taveez" to fix the situation when the couple parted ways. That is just too shocking.

To me, script and storyline are the soul and foundation of any film or drama. If the story is illogical or patchy, or if the production house has ulterior motives (saving costs using the wrong set or location or equipment, shock value over story, or launching Nepos or their own children), then no Fawad, Faisal, Fahad, Noman, Bilal, or Wahaj or their best on-screen pairing can save it.

If a script is good, only then do we get unforgettable chemistry or iconic scenes. The credit first goes to the writer and then the director and the BTS team. Next, the actors. Also, chemistry to me is not about romantic pairing. It can be between two neighbors or two people who meet on a bus ride. It can be between a mother and a daughter.

Regarding TRP and views, I find it very complex. It matters, and oftentimes it doesn't matter at all. I mean, Noman Ejaz, Sania Saeed, Faisal Qurishi, and Yumna Zaidi have projects that have odd storylines, forgettable TRP, and very few views. But it has zero impact on their craft. It takes nothing away from their sheer talent. Now the question is for people like me who love the script: Would I watch it? Yes, I would give it a try. I may drop it, or I may finish it due to such talented actors. There may be no rewatch value. And both situations are okay.

She ruined so many dramas like pyar ke saqdey, fitoor, fraud, bashar momin too

Let's address the elephant in the room, or rather in this and certain threads. It is very human to have biases.

And then there is BIAS.

There is a strange anger and reasoning by some of the SMD viewers towards Yumna and other dramas here. I mean, I know there was this expectation that it would become big like TB or KMKT. It did not yet. It could turn around but I don't get why it makes them angry that neutral audiences are not very interested.

It's hilarious and offensive to claim that we neutral viewers are haters or trolls or us being incapable of understanding slow burns is the reason SMD is not where one thought it would be... Oh, they hate Wahaj... What? Why? He's a great actor.

Could it be any of these logical reasons below?

The dialogues drag out at 0.25x speed and have uncomfortable gaps between dialogues. Even if the script was mediocre, then at least it should have a spice factor like Jalan and Jan Nisar. No one likes being fooled, as it was promoted in one way but was actually a launching platform for Kaddu's son. A falsely advertised product.

I took a look at the SMD thread, and they themselves seem to understand all of this. They were talking about slow-mo dialogues, poor lighting, Sadaf being a non-sense, and Kaddu's son, Amar and Humsa getting all the screen time and some photoshoots being just teaser content and not part of the episodes.

Now how is it the fault of the general audience or other dramas or reviewers or Yumna's?

Also, the comparison between Yumna and Maya... there is no comparison if you talk about craft.

Yes, the movies Maya was part of did deservingly well.

Yes, Yumna's movie flopped. So what? Lol, it takes nothing away from her craft. Yumna needs no lead actors. Even if the project tanks it takes nothing from her performance.

Yumna belongs to the Sania Saeed, Sajal Ali, Saba, and the Sanams category. Maya has a beautiful screen presence. She is an amazing model and looks incredible on the big screen. I do check out her dramas and will watch if the story is good.She has improved since Aunn Zara but there are some issues with her dialogue delivery. This is not hate. This is not about one's age, gender, or their appearance. One doesn't comment on that. This is about craft and acting skills only. Like if Qarz e jaan becomes illogical or too boring I will very likely stop watching it. I don't care if Yumna is in it. I stopped watching gentleman as well.

SMD is not bad or trash. This is not on Wahaj and takes nothing away from his powerful skills. The actors tried their best with the script and the direction that they were given. It is just not for everyone. That is okay.

No one would want to watch trauma in prime time. I mean atleast not on tv. Views are also slowly dropping.

About Maya and Wahaj people can't call them wasted potential also because the script had it all. It just that they are failing to make whatever scenes they have together impactful

It's also due to the gap in acting skills. For every action you need a reaction. Sadly Maya can never match upto Wahaj.

I could see tension between Bilal and Humsha in yesterday's scene. Its because both could deliver krq's dialogues in an effective way. Thats not the case of Maya and Usama. They are dragging down most of their scenes with others.

Also Hira is far superior actress to Maya. Wahaj can't do everything alone if his co-star doesn't reciprocate

Who on earth casted Maya in this complex role? And what on earth kaddu was thinking when he decided to put smd in bismil's slot?
