Wasn't DNUTN, PKS,Sila, Pukaar etc were Yumna's show as lead actress? And none of these were about "dusri biwi" n each one were based on social cause if we have seen the same shows ofcourse

Looks like it is kashif nizzar who's gonna be called PR of yumna now, for casting her in his shows n praising her. I just can't 😂🤣😂

Yeah she did second lead n lesser known roles. That's how many actors started their career. Even sajal started off with second lead roles. I wonder what's wrong in that? 🤔

Since when is pks and pukaar social awareness dramas? Unless showing a slow woman as mentally challenged is considered social awareness.

PKS shed light on a father-in-law misbehaving with his daughter-in-law. This is something that happens in reality but isn't often discussed because it's considered a taboo topic. They even received a notice from PEMRA because of it. On Soul Sisters Pakistan, several women have shared their experiences with this issue anonymously

Pukaar too is a social awarness drama. It deals with they way widows are treated in rural areas among fedual lord families. Yumna played a widow who are kept prisoned in her inlaws house, and wasn't allowed to live her life normally.

Zahjabeel definitely didn't write that to highlight the issue. Pemra also send notice to jalaan because of showing a sil going after a bil. Pks had unconventional leads but it's not exactly a social awareness drama.

Don't know the context but

Pukar was entirely focussed on social stigma on widows

PKS was not meant to be for social awareness but that one scene of bad touch that Mahzabeen was able to figure out despite being not so sharp was definitely more than some intentional social awareness messages

But on whole PKS cant be called social awareness drama

Also just based on how Mahjabeen and Abdullah were as characters - innocent and not so bright - and how the world treats such people and takes advantage of them was a message on its own. It was a very moving way to convey this. So many scenes made you tear up for these two 💔

Pukaar dealt with the story of a widow who faces injustices and hardships after her husband passes away. Not an easy watch.

Watch Man jogi and Zard Patton ky bn for social caused based dramas for reference. Both shows were promoted as some out of box stories which are written for society betterment, one for Girl's education and other is on Halala but the whole focus is on" leads love story" and how FL are out of control in their emotions as both are running behind male leads attention.
