Has it been confirmed that wahaj and Yumna are in season 2? Why does it feel like they said goodbye to their characters?

It was in the BTS . Murtasim admits " meerab meri wajah se ghar chhod kar gayi thi 🙂"

That's why he asks sorry.

It butchers meerab's character too. She came back to her assaulter 🥺😲

Until yesterday I thought MR was a hook to create MR/no MR suspense which they will reveal in the final episode through a FB or conversation.

But watching the episode today, esp. Merub and MK actions/reactions - I found myself getting confused. On one hand, it seemed possible that MR actually happened but there are also counter-arguments.

I would like to hear if others have any thoughts or became confused like I did.

Merub's action/reaction

Merub showed no guilt, remorse, shame for having disappeared for 2 years and hiding the baby from her birth father. She made no apologies nor was she asked to make any apologies. Her attitude towards MK - the stony expression when he asks her to sit next to him. Her laying down conditions for staying with MK.

For MR: It all seemed like someone who had a reason to be angry and who feel justified in their stand-offish attitude.

Against MR: Merub was always the type who did not admit her mistakes - nor was she shown to be particularly repentant about not informing friends and family for 2 years about her well-being at least. Also, if it was MR, why name your daughter Meesam? What of those spoken dialogs (not voice overs) in previous episodes about inflicting this saza on herself or her praise for MK or her longing? Merub was also shown as someone who never really forgave Wakas and Anila for that one time they did not open their door, despite their repeated attempts at reconciliation or their support for her later. Then how can she forgive MK?

Murtasim's action/reaction

MK cried and knelt on his knees for `maafi'. It wasn't once. He said it multiple times that he is sorry and to forgive him. He was begging Merub to sit next to him to talk. He said he has changed - he does not get angry nor does he have the `zid' and `akad' anymore, and that he is willing to do anything Merub wants him to if only she does not leave him.

For MR: These are the kind of things one would say or do if they have guilt, shame, if they feel they have committed a serious offense. For Merub ran off after consensual sex, for what mistake he wants forgiveness. What sin is he atoning for?

Against MR:

Either MK is so broken - like children in dysfunctional homes who feel that if they are on their best behavior, their parents will not divorce - that he would do anything for Merub not to leave him. Or they are insinuating he has reached the seventh stage of ishk where he has completely annihilated his self, his ego and only being with Merub matters. This seventh stage of ishk is also called maut (Death). In the final stage of love, the self identity is completely lost. Here the existence of lover depends on the existence of beloved. There is no turnaround. The final end of a love story either from both the lover or the boy as he believe he can’t exist without her.

After watching yesterday's episode multiple times it is crystal clear it was indeed an assault.

I saw somebody sharing a screenshot of the subtitles from last episode which had MK declaring that Meerub left because of me, I was the reason. They seem to have edited the confrontation scene too. Probably it had MK confessing about the assault or atleast hinting it to family members. The sudden change of expression of MB towards meerub after sending haya out indicated she felt sorry for meerub..

The whole episode MK looked very guilty. When he came near meerub and meesum ,the way he looked at meerub looked like guilt and her reaction was of a victim. The way he asked permission from meerub to even touch his daughter, his every action and her every reaction screamed assault had happened..

Actually, if we think in MR perspective from episode 46, everything makes sense. The walk of shame, him expressing his guilt to bhakti and asking him to stay strong because his heart knows so many secrets..

Not even once he showed any anger towards meerub for running away, instead he repeatedly said he is waiting for her one jhalak, he just want to see her no matter how many days, how many years it could take...This could be a reaction from someone who is guilty..

Meerub on the other hand couldn't hate him despite him assaulting her. Infact, she realised how much he loved her and treated her like a queen, always stood by her and it was her ana that didn't allow her to accept him..Though she loved him, she couldn't go back to him because of the assault..

Finally after meesam's arrival she makes up her mind to forgive him and go back to him to rebuild their shattered life ..

In the last episode, meerub was so confident and she didn't seem to be guilty for running away. She said meesam is their child and he knew it is his child..The way he was pleading for forgiveness and begging her not to leave him, and her reassuring she will never leave him, everything points towards that...

I m just sad that the same writer who created the show, and supposedly fell in love with the ML character could do this to him🥺

Anyways, i actually want to thank kadwani and geo for listening to fan demand and they really tried to amend the show but they couldn't ..If it was any ITV arrogant producers like ekta she would have shown worse and would never listen to fans..

I have a new found respect to kadwani and makers who actually gave importance to audience feeling and despite their personal opinions (they wanted a tragic end i think) they listened to audience and gave the much deserved happy ending.. I m really greatful for them for their efforts..

A very well put together analysis I thought the somewhat the same as you but not so much in-depth as I lost interest. There was some grey area but what was murtasim saying sorry for?

And also the subtitle was a giveaway and the fact meerab says haya saw her leave! Remember in 47 promo haya tells meerab she's a gayi guzri and she should leave?

Clearly there was heavy editing. The no guilt meerab and the guilty murtasim was strange plus the whole akar and ana thing.

I'm still confused with so many open loopholes and no closure. It's just that I didn't care enough to analyse. I'm curious to know the cast for S2 but will not watch for sure! Last episode I watched was 47.
