Girl, checked the comments on YT. shocking. People literally are rooting for Mehak and Shamsher. Calling how he is so much in love with her and it is justified as anyone will do as mehak is very beautiful 🤢

just responding to above post from thread -- yea, I watched another PK daily before this which gave me so much nightmare that I stopped checking out any on youtube after that for a while. it was azmaish and it annoyed the hell out of me. basically that is one reason why I didn't watch dil awaiz bcause it was the same actress and I felt like she was repeating the same character. I really don't understand why these women stay in such abusive situations and not leave. there are not too many dramas where they show these women taking a bold step and rebuilding their lives on their own.

but yea, in ITV, even uneducated FL will know how to survive on her own and she will be shown to be super street smart. am watching one like that -- she annoys me as she is super nosy and so I skip episodes. but at least she is not sitting around and waiting for her deadbeat husband who skipped out on her and married another chick. nope, she spit on the ex-husband's face and told him that she will raise their daughter herself. all bold and fiery!!

So true and I wonder the same thing. I only watched one PTV show Dillagi where the FL didn’t give a fuk but rest are all abla nari waiting to be rescued. I also think allowing a stalker who literally terrorises the FL is considered romantic, why? How can it be romantic? Why isn’t there an uproar over that rather than a husband kissing his wife? Wouldn’t he do that? Given the females get pregnant almost immediately?

I try very hard to understand cultural context but I can’t understand it at all. Why are those girls not leaving the minute a guy says you are this or that. Any man who decides the fate of his marriage on the say so of his mother doesn’t deserve to be married. We have said multiple times that in real world none of us will want a Hamza or Shehroz given what they come with, but they are romanticised and revered like men being kind is a great thing when that should be given.

I wish we get a story where FL says screw you and walks off. I have yet to watch one.

the fans will accept anything if the actor is good looking. they will even justify the stupidity because no one is allowed to bash the actor. 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦

I had an experience like that with a recent turkish dizi. I was thrilled the ratings sunk and so the channel was forced to cancel the drama. every episode raised my BP and I kid you not.

the main lead dumps his daughter and wife -- on the day she has given birth to their son. yea, very nice guy. why? because he was sick of being poor and got the opportunity to hook up with a rich chick who he marries and has another son with. through circustances, he ends up meeting his ex and he decides that he is unhappy that he wants a re-do with his first wife. UGH. there were fans who kept justifying him even though the character didn't take any accountability for his abandonment. instead, it was all about all his second wife's fault. 🙄🙄🙄

apparently the local turkish audience threw a fit on how they were showing this character. so the writers did a googly. basically in the end, he finally manages to marry the 1st wife. the 2nd wife goes into depression and loco. on the day of the wedding, she decides to shoot herself in front of 1st wife and these two wrestle and 1st wife dies. as one viewer put in youtube -- this man ruined two women. I felt like the drama was basically saying the 1st wife was a fool for taking this man back like nothing happened and lost her life as a result. whatever, it was the dumbest series ever.

but I was so shocked that there were fans who thought he deserved a second chance just because he was miserable. 🤬 fans can sometimes be not rational.

Is azmaish the drama that had the guy that played bilal's brother in dunk? I think rafaqat from ASA was also in it. I have seen bits and pieces of that drama as it used to air during dunk was on air.

Itv does have a very regressive mindset but when they show the fl to be strong she is shown to be really strong that we feel like rooting for her. That rarely happens in pak drama. I think koi chand rak was worth watching only because the FL not just chose to leave her husband but also chose a guy that loved her over her husband. She is a doctor and financially rich. She had no reason to give another chance to a dumb cheating husband even for the sake of her daughter. I liked that one aspect about that drama. I also liked how the fl chose to leave seperately from her husband in Gul e rana even though he changed. What he did to her at the starting was not worth forgiving even though he changed for the better. It's impossible to forget everything and live with that person.

So that hate marriage promo was shot when they were already shooting the rukhsati sequence, leads were already in love, Naima aunty was already a spoilt child, and Suffu was out of control. The show had no head or tail left and SufiMa were playing a jewelry robbery game at their respective home. Still, they presented it like it was about hate marriage. That promo made me excited to watch the show and after watching that promo, I got the recommendation of teri rah mein which totally changed my life.
