I stalked this thread the other day (found it by chance) and after going through it, binge-watched the show today although, I really don't have the time to be doing this. But I didn't expect for the show to be this good, tbh 😆 I like the fact that despite this being a sequel, it's easy to follow the plot without feeling like you are missing some essential parts. Though, if someone has watched the prequel, could you tell me whether Zohra loved Bali or not? In the FBs she always looked annoyed with him, lol.

I am enjoying all the actors and characters, so far. Though, I think I have a softer spot for Punar - poor guy really doesn't have it easy. At least, Mahi calls a spade a spade and calls out her Mom on her nonsense- love the sister-brother bond here! When Punar threatened to lock their gate so Mahi won't leave him, when Mahi said that if anything happens to Punar she won't forgive anyone for spilling his blood and the recent scene when she told her mother that she won't be distanced from her brother ❤️ Wonder, though, whether Punar will die or not; him getting hurt clearly doesn't shake his mother. His death might. Oh, and all the references about how Punar isn't like his father, that he is more gentle and respectful - liked those, too. You can't mold kids into their parents, they are their own person, after all.

And Bali, he is another character your heart goes out to. His desperation for his kids, the guilt and memories of the past torturing him- he truly seems like a man who is repenting. And I really enjoy the way they are portraying the love of fathers (whether the biological one or the one who raised them) - we don't see much focus on it in most shows. And in stark contrast to that, the almost cold love of a mother on the other side who is ready to sacrifice her son for a husband who has been long since dead. Either way, I can understand both positions, Bali and Jajji (do you write it like that? Lol); it's not easy to see your kids believe someone else is their father and it's difficult to give up the kids you raised - although, I wish these two would sit together and talk reasonably. Try used to be good friends, why do they have to make the kids be with either one of them? They can both be in their lives...

Oh, and the chess games are also amusing, lol.

Well, am curious to see how Bali seeing his kids for the first time (knowing that they are hiss kids; loved that seen when he felt their presence nearby when they walked past the house!) will play out 😊 And the show definitely deserves more appreciation but guess apart from the younger cast being mostly unknown (I assume? And not that good with my knowledge about actors) this not having much of romantic love (not really, lol) is also a factor.

Thank you for writing this beautiful review. I agree with you it is the most underrated serials currently..although it is high in emotions and drama, unpredictible, and funny .😃

This serial is getting better with each passing episode. Now that Bali followed Jajji to his house ..and saw his grown up children. I am curios to see how will the story unfolds. Precap shows Bali's makeover.😆 he'll enter his children's life as an uncle.
It was funny how Meher Chirag couldn't recognize Bali. Yes. he changed a lot since his lafanga days.
Loved the girls ..Rameen and Mahi. they are strong and know well what do they want .

Thank you! 😳 And okay, that clears my confusion. They should show FBs in which she looks happy with him for a change, lol.

@awida: Agree, it's getting better and better with each passing episode! 😆 I think Bali might get into a brawl with Jajji as Jajji seemed to be hurt (a little) in the precap (same with the uncle), lol. And entering the kids' life as an uncle, for now, seems reasonable. They can't just drop such a bomb on them without warning - Bali will have to swallow this bitter pill. Though, for how long is the question here. In the hospital, when Rameen bumped into him, even she felt some sort of connection so, they won't be able to keep this secret forever 😆

I was surprised that Mehar Chirag didn't recognize him, as well, since he did say he never forgets the face of an enemy. But maybe he didn't look closely enough. Though, am curious to see how he will use the kids - mainly Farhat, it seems - to lure out Bali. For now, Bali is tamed, timid and doesn't want any trouble. But he did say that if it comes to his children...

Also curious to see how Bali will react after knowing about the Farhat-Mahi rishta. He doesn't have any ill feelings for Hukum's children (as he seemed to have a positive impression of Punar, lol) but this situation is still complicated and risky especially since the Mehars want him dead.

Btw, does anyone know when this show airs - UK times?

Today's fighting scene was hilarious, lol - and not in a good sense. It just looked ridiculous 😆 The whole meeting could've gone better between them, but guess since both were emotionally charged... this was expected. I liked the scene afterward, both presenting their point of views and trying to make each other understand. I get their positions, feel bad for both of them: one sacrificed his whole life and expectations to raise these children, while the other one's been yearning for them for 22 years - it's just a sad situation to be in 😕 And stressful for them. Bali and Jajji still regard their friendship highly, it's clear from how they listened to both sides and got clearer through smaller gestures- getting angry at one instant, but then going back to pleading and trying to make the other understand. They don't want to fight but both want the kids. At the end, Bali swallowed the bitter pill- I guess he does acknowledge and appreciate what Jajji has done for his kids. Plus, it might have gotten to him, the point about how society treats the kids of murderers.

For how long they will be able to keep the secret is the question, lol. Rameen and Farhat aren't stupid, they will catch on that something's being kept hidden from them. And since both, Jajji and Bali, have swapped names for now, guess there might come up a situation in which the kids will think that Jajji (believing him to be Iqbal aka Bali) killed Hukum 😆

Liked the last scene, as well. Finally, Bali gets to meet his children. Though, I get the feeling that Jajji or Bali might die, at the end.

There wasn't enough Punar in the episode 😛 But seriously, feel bad for him with each passing episode - seems like both, his mom and grandfather, isse marwaa ke hi damm lenge. And Mahi's left alone to fight for her brother. (He was cute in that phone conversation with Rameen - maybe she'll be able to make him drop this revenge alongside Mahi).

Next episode will be a bit more focused on the Mehars than this one was, I guess. Btw, there is a snippet in the OST video in which Punar's mom (I can never remember her name, lol) is suffocating someone, I think? Anyone knows who that might be? Rameen? 🤔

I love it how they have a mix of melodrama and comedy in this serial. this scene wasn't unintentionally funny. I think this is what they intended to show. like old days between Bali and Jajji . like every strong kameena friends. felt bad for Mujoo (I am not sure of the name of Jajji 's assistant) though..

I liked the scene afterward, both presenting their point of views and trying to make each other understand. I was in tears watching Jajji bleeding for Bali's understanding, and Bali holdinghis head.😭 though I laughed while watching Bali's reaction on Jajji saying that Mojoo was like a mother for Bali's children. when Bali said to Jajji : "He became the ir mothr, and you became their ,so who am I?"😆

For how long they will be able to keep the secret is the question, lol. Rameen and Farhat aren't stupid, they will catch on that something's being kept hidden from them. Good prediction. although story seems unpredictible .😕

Liked the last scene, as well. Finally, Bali gets to meet his children. Though, I get the feeling that Jajji or Bali might die, at the end.

Again I was in tears watching Bali calling his children, telling them that he's their uncle and hugging them . 😭 super performance by Babar Ali.⭐️👏 In fact when I watch Bali and Jajji I miss my father. It is good to see fathers' love for their children. Most of dramas show mothers' love. I too couldn't feel how a father can feel for his children. I always thought that mothers love their kids more.😕

There wasn't enough Punar in the episode 😛 But seriously, feel bad for him with each passing episode - seems like both, his mom and grandfather, isse marwaa ke hi damm lenge. I like Punar/ Rameen more than Farhad/Mahi pairing.

Next episode will be a bit more focused on the Mehars than this one was, I guess. Btw, there is a snippet in the OST video in which Punar's mom (I can never remember her name, lol) is suffocating someone, I think? Anyone knows who that might be? Rameen? 🤔

I can't recall that scene of Punar's mom . But there is a detailed promo of the upcoming episode which shows many Meher family's scenes. I find Bali/Jajji's family scenes more interesting.😃

Thanks a lot for the review @Shoutocake..😊

@awida: I think his name's Mauju 😕 And yeah, that dialogue about Mauju having raised the kids like a mother and Bali's reaction to it - my mom was watching, as well, and her expression at Mauju being called a mother 🤣 But poor Bali, khud ban gaya something like a long lost godfather, lol.

It depends. I think, generally speaking and on an average level, mothers do love their children more since their connection with them is far deeper and much stronger than anyone else's (of course, there are exceptions and many cases in which mothers abandon their kids or even kill them). Fathers love them a lot, as well, but show it (usually) differently - in a less emotional way, especially when it comes to sons. But it's not always like that, I know about cases in which the fathers love their children just as much and as emotionally (e.g. show it) as the mothers do. And in this show toh they are showing some contrasts with Jajji-Bali and even Yawar Kamal (who mentioned that ever since he became a father, he changed, got afraid and softer) - and Ansar Mehar Unnissa who even said that for her, her dead husband is above her children, and didn't even blink when Punar was shot, lol. Were Jajji in her shoes, he'd have gone mad 😆 And I agree about Babar Ali's acting! It's fab! Also liked Jajji's acting in those scenes, the actor's doing a great job!

That's one of the main factors I enjoy this show so much. It's different and the story is complex and nicely nuanced.

Same here! I like Punar-Rameen a lot more than Farhat-Mahi. I loved that phone conversation, it was too cute 😆 "Iss se pehle kitni dafa hua hai [pyaar]?" - "Khuda ki kasam, iss se pehle kabhi aisi koi baat dil mei bhi nahi aayi!" - "Are, tum kasam kyu khaa rahe ho?" - "Tum aise gande ilzaam lagaa rahi ho ke..." 🤣 Or this one (am not good with edits, lol, but kabhi kabhi for fun I experiment 😆)

Hmm. I don't have preferences, tbh. I enjoy both family scenes though, atm, probably Jajji-Bali-kids more - been waiting for Bali to meet his kids, after all! Though, am anxious about their reaction to finding out the truth. Bali will have to put up one hell of a fight to prove himself to them 🤔 As for the Mehars, I find Mehar Chirag amusing, lol. And Punar's become my fav so, I'll want any scenes with him - his and Mahi's scenes are a treat to watch, as well!

And nothing to thank me for! I enjoy the show and enjoy writing about it and sharing my thoughts 😳

@Shoutocake . I enjoy it too. All the actors are treat to watch. dialogues are amazing although sometimes they sound theatrical. but this is the joy of watching such an old class drama.
Sometimes I feel like watching an old Indian movie when I see Bali/Jajji scenes or even Bali/Yawar. the undying friendship. (Yeh Dosti Hum Nahin Chodenge)! Friends who are there for each other in thik and thin. Like you see Jajji forgot himself and his own disires to rise up his friends' kids.
On the other hand I fail to relate to Mehru's feelings, she seems like a cold woman, I wonder how could revenge take her that way, so that she doesn't feel like a mother. I would've understood it if it was only Meher Chirag after Bali. but Mehru is too much.
I think that phonecall between Punar/Rameen was shown as a flashback. they had it before the shooting, and I was wondering when Rameen refered to it when she visited Punar in the hospital. I am glad that they showed it. it is much better than Farhad going to meet Mahi, and got stuck with her old parents.😆

The friendship aspect is really a treat to watch ❤️ I miss these things (friendships, sibling-bondings) in shows nowadays a lot which mostly just focus on the romantic angles, and friendships are superficial at best, unfortunately. It's definitely a reason why I can't root for either Bali or Jajji to get the kids, at the end (which will also be a decision up to Rameen and Farhat, anyway) - you are such great friends, you'll come up with a solution for both of you, hopefully, lol.
Mehro is annoying. Can a human being even survive on kajoors (dates) only for 22 years? 😲 Her behaviour is even more infuriating when you consider that Hukum never loved her, which she knows, and that he was in love with another woman, which she knows, as well. And for such a one-sided "love" she's ready to sacrifice her son who, at least, does love her. I enjoy it when Mahi calls her out on her nonsense, lol.

Yeah, the phone conversation was a FB. I was also confused when Rameen mentioned a phone call in the hospital - smartly done here by the writers 😆 Farhat ka kya kehna, he got the short stick here, lol. Farhat-Mahi haven't hit it off for me, yet. Maybe it'll come with time, dekhte hain. Btw, Mehar Chirag knows or at least strongly suspects that Farhat and Rameen are Bali's kids (are they twins?) - is he going to do anything about that remains to see 😆

Rameen is savage, lol. Poor Bali. Although, at times, Rameen does come off as rude and arrogant - is it just me? Not saying that it's bad, per se, a person is made of different qualities, some good others not so much. So, yeah, felt really bad for how she talked to Bali at breakfast... though, I do understand that she and Farhad might feel weirded out by a complete stranger living with them, all of a sudden, and wanting them to do such mundane things like speak English for him. It probably looks beyond silly for them, but she didn't have to be so mean about it. Right now, Farhad seems more likely to start liking Bali, first 😆

Jajji-Bali, uff, these two 😒 I do hope that Jajji doesn't die, lol- I want him to tell Rameen and Farhad the truth, it'd be better for everyone involved. As for Bali, I hope he can build a real connection with his children before this bomb is dropped on them. Somewhere deep down, they do seem to be feeling a pull toward him - let's see.

Mehars- I think Punar-Mahi are one of the few rare sibling-bonds (I mean, brother-sister) I really enjoy watching! It just comes off as genuine and strong and realistic. Have to give it to Mahi, it's not easy fighting with such a family - where you can say whatever you want, reason however you want, but they will just ignore it. Although, I do think that Mehar Chirag will eventually crumble. He cannot let go of his Hukum, true, but he has Punar and he sees Hukum in him, and as Mahi pointed out gets restless the moment Punar is out of his sight [I liked that whole scene of Mahi reasoning that Hukum had been wrong in trying to pursue Bali's fiancee and later lover, and Mehar Chirag's frustration and pain at his son being dead while Bali was alive]. So, I guess that the Dada-ji in him will win out, in the end. As for Mehro, she is dheet, lol. "Khuda toh maaf kar deta hai, lekin Maa mujhe kabhi bhi maaf nahi karegi" and Mahi pointing out that she is Hukum's wife more than their mother - says it all. I doubt she will give up 🤔 Maybe when she realizes how much she and her revenge's been ruining her kids' lives... but doubtful.

Rameen-Punar scene, lol. Punar having fallen in love (although, I think it is more a "liking" which he knows can become love) was quick - reminds me of when Mehro told him that Ishq is something that happens instantly. Either way, she's being mean to him 😆 Last episode mei hi toh uske baare mei soch kar she was laughing, but in front of him... poor guy looked like a kicked puppy 😆

Precap: Finally. Now, am curious how Bali will react to this revelation that his son's fiancee is Mehar Hukum's daughter! I am pretty sure that Bali will reveal himself to Punar, eventually (he was ready to get killed by him, wasn't he? lol) - but (as shown in the OST vid), Punar won't be able to bring himself to kill him (though, someone else will shoot, Mamu Munir?). But in-between kya hoga, am curious.

Btw, Rameen thinking of herself as Farhad's mother and Mahi saying that she sees her father in Punar (although, she surely behaves more like his mom) - found it amusing considering the pairings 🤣
