Sanam AT # 3 - Osman Khalid Butt, Maya Ali and Hareem - Page 27

I wasn't planning on watching this show right away. I wanted to have a bank of episodes first but it was on so I ended up watching it. Sanam, in the first episode was nothing like I expected but it's only the beginning and I dread such stories: love triangles especially those involving a married man. I was hoping that I would get to see how marriages involving a spouse with some kind of psychological disorder function rather than typical shallow drama. I doubt I will get to see Ayla getting the help she needs along with her and Harib working on their marriage. Instead I will be subjected to an extra marital affair and a scheming, lunatic wife destroying the life of the decent husband.

In the acting department the three main leads were strictly okay in my opinion. I am expecting better from them in the coming episodes.

What I liked:
1. The setting
2. Hina Bayat's acting and character; she had the best scenes (though not sure about the JTYJN inspired scene with Abid Ali).
3. The direction
4. Emaad Irfaani's character Shehroz; the bro who always says it like it is.

My problems with the show:
1. The repeat pairing of Osman and Maya - this is the fourth time, it's getting boring. Sorry folks I know this couple has a huge following but I am done for the time being.
2. Ayla will be portrayed as evil wife #1 who pushes her husband towards another woman.
3. Aan is the innocent, naive, modest, homely girl who will attract the male lead.
4. The rushed marriage that may likely have occurred due to Harib's pity for Ayla which he thinks is love even though he supposedly knows about her past yet will quickly come to regret it all (already has begun).
5. Rather than dealing with bipolar disorder with maturity and sensitivity, it appears that Ayla will be portrayed to be an evil villain with a vendetta rather than a legitimate issue.

A very good start of the show!!!

Hina bayat's character is so much fun! I loved all her scenes and it's good to see Maya play the role of a simple, mature girl and not the hyper, over talkative roles that she's been playing.
