I don't think he didn't want to see them for 18 years... but he was too stubborn to make the first step so he had to show it like that... And if that is your "problem" with AJ, then what about Behroze. How could you not want to see your FATHER for 18 years. How can you reject your brother who has been visiting for the past 18 years...

I agree with the arjumand arrangement, but you have to understand AJ too. In his eyes, if someone else marries Arjumand, they might take advantage of her, as she was "rejected". But if Suhaib marries her, she will always be under his care and he can ensure her happiness. Not the most ideal argument but thats what happened in his mind.

Did not like the part where he said to Ruhi that you have failed me!--- I loved that part. Don't get me wrong, but this guy who gave up everything for this woman... who showered her with endless amount of love/luxury.. who fulfilled all of her wishes, finally asks for one thing and what does she do? She makes a plan to insult him and his family publicly to get revenge for her rejection from AJ and disobedience from Behroze.

I don't think AJ married off Arjumand to Suhaib because he thought of what would happen to her if she got married to someone else, and that by marrying her with Suhaib he was ensuring her safety. AJ's reasons for marrying Arjumand with Suhaib were simple - he had promised that on Friday Arjumand will become his daughter-in-law. That's it. If the elder brother is gone, the younger will make that happen.

Suhaib and Agha Jaan's relationship was always like this. And we got so many glimpses of AJ's guilt at the way he had treated Suhaib all his life. There was this one flashback he had where a young Suhaib was painting and he was very good at that. AJ comes to him and says that it's nice that he has a talent for painting but he can't keep doing that forever. Which basically implied, 'shoq tak tou theek hai..but you have to do all major things which I wish you to do.' Suhaib's marriage with Arjumand had disturbed AJ very much. By choosing to side with his ego than his own children, AJ made a hasty decision which he forced upon Arjumand and Suhaib. And once the deal was done, he realized that maybe he was wrong. He never confessed it but it did bother him a lot.

Suhaib had every right to accuse AJ for treating him like a puppet, the way Behroze did, because unlike Behroze..Suhaib's life had always been in AJ's control. But that was the marked difference between the two brothers. Suhaib till the end never once did anything to even hint at AJ that he was wrong and that his decisions have badly affected his own children. Even when Suhaib's own son asked him what his dreams were when he was young, rather than sighing and saying something like 'kya socha tha...kya hogaya..' Suhaib quickly deflected the subject and called himself too immature at that age to have proper dreams and aspirations. Which was a lie and AJ had caught that. And it was AJ's steady realization over the years that he was wrong in treating his own kids like that which made him jump in the conversation and rectify Suhaib's statement by saying the truth that Suhaib was always too kind, too mature, too responsible for his age..

Their dynamic is defo one of my most fav things about this show! And I miss Suhaib so much now!

@lostmymusic: I guess from that point of view, yes... I love Suhaib from the bottom of my heart because he reminds me so much of the younger versions of my mom, my dad, and sometimes me... He gave up his whole life for his father without any complaint and he genuinely did not have any complains or regrets. So yes, perhaps AJ did do it for his ego, but I still feel that even if he hadn't gotten her married to Suhaib that Friday, it would still have happened because in the end, the point I came up with would have came up and just like Suhaib did not say anything then, he would not have said anything later either.
