no prob Deevanshi...first i'll answer ur question... ok Mashaal no offense but wut told in that reply was basically what happens on Basant.. not what ppl to celebrate it even tho not a religious celebration...so basically she's asking abt how this event take place..

ok well as u already know Deevanshi that Basant is not a religous celebration but is celebrated in differnt parts of Pakistan as just a fun activity...since Lahore is connected with Punjab and in india the punjab area is famous for basant and kites activities, Lahore is basically doing the same thing.. as in other words keeping the trend.. also lahore is quite famous for basant in other words Jashn-e-Baharan...on this day mostly males go on the roofs and and start the kite fighting....but before the basant event ... u will see the market full with kites.. patang stuff...so on the basant morning ppl on their roofs.. put on high decks of music without thinking for those who are selleping...lolzz...and start the event...some ppl even buy a horn and use it whenever they won a kite fight...soo annoying...and ladies wear yellow to orange coloured clothing...and act juss like males with no shame...and officially even try to show off..so this goes on for almost half of the month even tho basant is on one day... and on this day u willsee th ehwole sky full of kites.. which to me looks like polluted sky..so thatss basically it for how it is celelbrated..

now why some ppl dont like it.. i think mashaal gave a good list for that.. but the main reason is the loss of life throughout this whole event... innocent ppl get killed as the string used for the kite is beign mixed with different chemicals which are highly dangerous.. but this year the lahore government put a ban on basant as so many ppl got killed...so hopefull it will get under control...

i'll tell u that when i was in pak.. i hated basant for several reasons.
1) too noisy.. and annoying with all the songs and the horn blowing..
2)boys on the roof 24/7 hooting on every small damn thing..
3)boys again trying to show off
4)ppl getting killed)
5)evereywhere was too crowded..

ok now i have some more ideas on how u have a really well designed presentation...here when a student get a project .. they have to think outside the box and do things different then everyone else in order to obtain good marks...since this is a major project for u i think u should get good on it...

here are some ideas..
1) make a poster.. use like those big bristol board sheets.. and create a poster with all the pics as well as sonme info..u can have pics of actors from both countries on it and a list of movies or shows from both countries...
2) do a powerpoint presentation..instead of reading ur info from a paper.. put all the info in the powerpoint presentation and show the whole slide show to ur class as well as read from it... this way if the class can't follow u they can read it off from the slideshow..and add pics in it as well..
3)show 2 mins video.. it can be a small part of a pakistani drama or movie or a song......

well reading wat ppl wrote.......this festival is celebrated here in Gujarat even infact most of the parts in India.......it happens on 14th and 15th of January and is called Uttarayan and Makar Sankranti.......i don't why u don't like this festival...here ppl wait for this festival to come......we holidays in schools for 2 days and when teachers give us homework to do in these 2 days we fight wid them not to give homework....in this days the whole of sky is filled wid colourful kites and whole of atmosphere is rocking wid sounds like kaate.....kaypo che......lapeti le.......famous song Kaypo che 4m film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam starring Ash and Salman was based on the Uttarayan of Gujarat....here even CM of the state enjoys this festival.....he goes to his constituency area and celebrate it with common ppl like us.....last yr i celebrated this festival with Tulsi aka Smriti Irani who was there in the city at one of the colleague place who happens to my uncle's neighbour....every yr foriegners come to take in Vibrant Gujarat Makar Sankranti festival where they enjoy.....We really enjoy this festival and celebrate it wid grt pomp coz it becomes a reason for every1 of us to get together from our busy lives and schedules and enjoy.....even govt sees to it tht terminal exams get over b4 14th Jan.......

The main pt tht i wanted to know is population....my project is abt India and Pakistan so India's population i know but abt Pakistan.....but i heard tht only Uttar Pradesh's population constitutes the whole of Pakistan's population but i don't exactly......there r many other points......later on i will post it 😊

i dant knoe exactly about population of india i think above of Arabs but according to population of pakistan
1998 pakistan consist of almost 14 karoors ppl

this is pakistan's population as of today: 162,419,946 and in the rank order for the largest population pakistan is on number 7 while india is on number 2....so pakistan's population is less then india... and thats basically it..

and abt ur question on not liking basant...well i didnt say it wasn't fun.. ppl have different opinions just like u have a different opinion abt it then i do....and i never said its not... but i also look at all the other points in this festival...there are basically no advantages in this celebration but mostly u will find negative things in it... the main reason i hte it cuzz...i've seen ppl die cuz of it and its horrible...so i don't really care abt this event...and second im not good in kite flying stuff...

a long time tht i m writing in this topic coz i was working on my project....now schools have re-opened and it's like a hell to manage time for everything like studies having fun at the same time,taking out time to watch TV,hanging out wid friends etc but this time it is even a bigger prob coz i m 12th.......board exams...my parents r hammering a lot but everything is fine...part of life.....

Well anne.....yeah even i don't like the mishaps tht happen in this fest but here govt put special plans in action during these two days for incidents u have mentioned........there was a point tht electricity and TV cables get cut off due to the string tht is used......few yrs this happened here in Ahmedabad even so govt and AMC(Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation)decided to use special wires which can bear lots and lots of load and r not even cut due to the string which has glass in it.......special ambulances services r provided in each area(almost 3-4 in diff parts of tht area)due there is no casuality coz of this fest and as far as birds r concerned the person whoever is found doing offence to them is fined by Rs.5000 so citizens themselves remain careful......

Well there r some points on which i need ur help but right now previous work is left so i will post later.....by the thanks for the population detail 😊

well now i have got time to work further on my project....now i jus wanna know wat is educational system there.......like here it is statewise.....each state has different has books of study but yeah....there is central level also....in every state there schools running according central board.....so how is education carried over there????

the books of specific classes of different provinces of pakistan is same but boards r different which takes exams of each other but provincial language books r different for punjab punjabi,for sindh sindhi,for balochistan balochi , for NWFP pashtoo

hey..Deevanshi...its me...i have examzz startin now so i wont be able to reply much....can tell me the EXACT date of ur project due date....since im having final examzz rite nowq it will be very dificult to go on internet at all..i have to study my butt off....anywayzzz...i think Mashal will help a lot...u can get lots of info from her....now if u need more detailed infor PM and i'll try my best...my examzz will end at the end of next week...now if u due date is after the next week gr8..if no then good luck but i will still try to help somehow....

as for ur previous question.... schools are not developed by a person's status...its more on the money fees... even if a poor can pay the fees of any kind of school..their child can get in the school...so it's bascially anyone with the money required...in each provincial skool; the books are the same but in others provinces the books and the study method is different...the education system is very developed but is not practical...which u will fin in european countries...in Pak or India,.,.its ALL memorization.. while in other more developed countires it's practical...but the the education itself is very highly developed..compaer it with a western chile..u'll know the resullss..lolz..anywayzzzi think that does answer ur question...
