No akka, panner has the nice milky taste.
But you can try with tofu.
I have not tried cottage cheese.
I make my own panner.
I always say panner or tofu, so that
everyone can try the dish instead of
telling oh no panner so I cannot cook
this dish. Thanks akka.

Thanks for the picture & Welcome back Kavi! (Glad to see your PM and I replied to you just today!)

I was missing in action here over the last 3 days as Junior Supree wasn's doing well! 😭 She came home with fever on Friday evening and is doing OK today and returned to School!

I took the picture of mini Idli plate (for Sue Akka) and couldn't come to IF to post it and when I finally came here, saw the picture by Kavi here.... 👏 👏 (always she is in full swing!!! 😉) Thanks again Kavi!

Yes SueAkka, these Mini idlis dish (called '14 Idlis' ) is a famous item , kind of their Signature dish at Saravana Bhavan!! We love this, infact idlis a lot and I do make Idli/ Dosa very often for dinner! 😃 My kids especially enjoy these cuties for their shape in addition to the taste! 😉

I believe Rojakka had mentioned about the place, where you can enjoy this! 😉 Please try it the next time you get a chance and I'm sure you will like them! 😊

And.. Thanks for clarifying the chinna vengayam question. So what brand has the frozen chinna vengayam? I'm almost sure I haven't seen it before in the store's freezer, but surely will ask around, the next time.

Jenim, Thank you so much for your sweet words & lovely compliments! I sure will pass on your compliments to my daughter... 😃 You made my day Jenim!! ☺️ 😊 Thanks again!

You are welcome and yes, the frozen chinna vengayam is by 'Daily Delights'. But like I said, if you are looking for that crunchy cum karam taste..(like the fresh ones!).... you may not get in this frozen types, but the flavor is definitely there... Give it a try when you get a chance! 😊

Oh ..no. Why sorry Kavi?! I'm happy that SueAkka didn't have to wait and she saw the picture earlier! And thanks to you for that. 😊

Yes, my daughter is doing OK today and gone to School. Thanks. What made me worry a lot is, 2 weeks back only she got Flu and she had gone down a lot after suffering for nearly a week, and again she became sick now!! 😭 Today she is ok, but still has got a heavy cough/ chest congestion though.

Hope your little one, Aishu is getting better now. Take care. 🤗

1 tsp of garlic paste
1 tsp of ginger paste
1 tsp of dhania powder
1 tsp cumin seeds powder
10 cashew nuts slightly roasted and powdered

1 tbs of cream for garnishing

Method:
Wash and cut the spinach leaves coarsely.
Heat a wok with 1 tsp of ghee. Add in the sliced
Chillies, 1 small onion, 1 tbs chopped coriander leaves
And the spinach leaves. Saute nicely until the leaves
Are wilted. Remove and cool. Blend them to a smooth

This sweet mango pickle is a Gujarati dish.
A bit time consuming, but the end result is sweet.

CHUNDA

Ingredients:
250 grms of peeled and grated raw mango
500 grms of sugar
2 tbs salt
1 tsp tumeric powder
2 tbs chillie powder
1 tbs ground cumin seeds

Method:
Mix the grated mango, salt and tumeric powder and
Leave it for half an hour.
Now take a muslin cloth put the grated mango
And squeeze gently.
Now put the plup in a glass container, add the sugar
And mix well.
Tie a piece of muslin cloth over the mouth of the vessel
And place in the sun for a full 21 days.
That means it goes out every morning (after a stir) and
Comes in every evening.
You will know the pickle is done when the sugar has melted
To a syrup and reaches 1.5 string consistency.
When done add the chillie powder and cumin powder.
This pickle will resemble like orange marmalade.
If well sunned this pickle will keep for a year without refrigeration.
It goes well with chapatti , rice or as a sandwich spread.

Thanks again Kavi...it also looks more like the halwa.....but I don't have the patience to try out this and sun it for 21 days...but if "somebody" makes it for me I don't mind trying this chutney..!!😉

Yes, as Roja mentioned I will certainly try this cute iddlis at Saravana Bhavan here sometime soon. Btw why do they call it "14 iddlis"?? I see there are 15 tiny moulds in the above iddli tray - do they serve 14 tiny ones at one go per customer...aiyooo can't finish all!! 😉

Glad to know that junior Supree is doing fine now and back to school too.👏
