CHAPTER 33

"now who could that be disturbing our private moment?" kailash grudgingly went to answer the door. he found ajay standing outside with a huge bouquet of flowers. he looked pretty pissed to see kailash at deepa's house & didn't even bother to greet kailash. kailash was surprised at ajay's sudden attitude change but didn't say anything more. he shut the door & followed ajay into the hall. "ajay? what are you doing here?" deepa looked extremely shocked & quickly straightened her blouse. "I came to apologise to you but I see that kailash is already doing enough apologising for both of us." he replied coldy & threw kailash a nasty look. kailash flinched. he was guilty after all. ajay had sent him over to change her bad opinion of him & kailash was here romancing with deepa.

deepa blushed as she realised that ajay knew that she & kailash had been romancing. she felt a little embarrassed so she tried to soothe ajay's ruffled feathers. "let's all go for dinner! I heard there's going to be fireworks show in about 2 hours time." she suggested so sweetly that both the guys immediately agreed. they all trooped down to the car but halted when the question of who's car deepa should travel in arised. deepa settled that problem by volunteering to drive the three of them in her car. the restaurant was a little crowded & they had to wait for some time before they got seats. the waiting time was uncomfortable & punctuated by frequent glances at each other. deepa actually heaved a sigh of relief as the waiter led them to their seats. again the problem of who was to sit beside deepa arose. deepa cleverly handled that situation as well by asking the guys to sit together while she sat alone opposite them.

the meal was rather quiet. deepa talked most of the time while ajay & kailash just stared at her. "isn't the pasta just heaven?" she asked no one particular & got two eager nods in reply. she smiled to herself & continued eating her fill. both ajay & kailash noticed a spot of tomato sauce on deepa's left cheek. she seemed oblivious to fact that she had smeared some sauce on her face at all. they both reached out to wipe the sauce at the same time then realised that awkwardness of the situation & pulled back. "what's wrong?" deepa asked them curiously. kailash then told her about the tomato smear & ajay handed her a paper napkin. deepa took it blushing slightly that she had ate like a pig in front of the two of them.

after the three of them had ate their fill, deepa asked for the bill. ajay & kailash insisted on paying for the bill. the three of them finally decided to go dutch & pay for their respective meals. they strolled out of the restaurant, happy & smiling. "guys, the fireworks are going to start! let's go over to the bridge!" deepa happily dragged the two guys to the bridge. she sqeauled happily as the fireworks smiled. deepa acted like a little girl upon seeing the fireworks, she clapped & smiled her mega watt smile. ajay & kailash watched deepa not the fireworks. they each were thinking how great it would be if they were alone with deepa. to their surprise, deepa reached out & held both their hands. "this is the best night ever! thanks a lot guys for accompanying me!" she smiled at both of them sweetly & continued watching the fireworks while both ajay & kailash tightened their grip on her hand.

Hmmm.. Deepa seems to be friends again with Ajay.. at least at the moment. So, Jiggly I'm sure you're going to throw in another incident that's going to get Ajay farther away from Deepa, right?

Ajay is friend again, but I think Deepa will let him know about her feelings towards Kailash. Can't wait for the next chapter.

CHAPTER 34

after they enjoyed the wonderful fireworks, deepa & the two guys went to eat some ice-cream at deepa's favourite ice cream palour. "let this be my treat!" deepa insisted when ajay & kailash volunteered to pay for her ice-cream. both ajay & kailash hated chocolate ice cream but they ate it because deepa loved it. "you guys don't like chocolate ice cream do you?" she asked them curiously. they both nodded & deepa burst out laughing. "you silly guys. you both have the expression of being tortured instead of the happiness at eating yummy ice cream." she continued laughing. ajay & kailash couldn't say anything more but just blushed slightly at that revelation. the night was breezy & cool so the threesome decided to roll down the car windows to enjoy the fresh air. instead of deepa, ajay was driving while kailash took the backseat.

"ohh.. I love this song!" deepa exclaimed as her favourite song from Pokiri came on. she sang along till she realised that the 2 guys were staring at her. "deepa you have such an amazing voice!" kailash breathed. ajay nodded his agreement. "really? do you guys really think I can sing?" she questioned them happily. when they both made it clear that she had an amazing voice, deepa broke into a mega watt grin. she told them all about her ambition to be a singer and how she had give up the dream because her father disapproved of it. she seemed a little sad when she finished so kailash told her a lame joke & she smiled her beautiful smile again. "shall we go for a picnic the day after tomorrow? I know this place which will blow you two away." deepa invited them sweetly. always eager to please deepa, ajay & kailash agreed without any thought.

they all planned to meet at vidya's place & ajay reached there first carrying a huge picnic basket. since deepa didn't have any picnic baskets, she was borrowing it from ajay. kailash arrived slightly later hauling an equally big cooler. deepa thanked them for their help & they proceeded down to their car when they met sandhya. deepa being the sweetie she was invited her along for the picnic. sandhya readily agreed as she had an eye on kailash. she seldom found indian men who looked as good as him. kailash wanted to sit in the front of the car with deepa but ajay beat him to it. so he dejectedly took a seat beside the overly eager sandhya. she was dressed in a really really short skirt that exposed more flesh than covering it. kailash turned away but he felt sandhya snuggle closer to him. wishing that they would reach their destination soon, kailash closed his eyes & moved as far as possible away from sandhya. but sandhya? she had a plan of her own.
