Although most of us believe and in great faith follow the theory that god created this universe and all life in it.We believe that and yet somehow we follow the Darwinian theory that the strongest survive and the meek go extinct.Though we know that everything that was there,is and will ever be is the handiwork of the great jester we still go to temples,mosques and churches to pray to him and in search of him.For me going to temples happens in phases and when at home i just say his name and go about things and go to the temple only when his voice whispers to come see him.

But the temple is a point of focus,a place to run to when in doubt,when in sickness and when in plight.most importantly a temple is a place to go to,just to get away from it all,from known things and known faces.Sometimes just an hour away from home makes the idlis which my wife cooks softer and tastier rather than before when it appeared i could build houses with it.

The human mind craves for focus,a path denoted,a journey planned and when such are not available we go haywire.See right now facebook and other social networking sites are the focus of millions,ok billions and it is all good.But it is not good when in all that you lose your identity,your soul and most importantly your time here.

Seconds,minutes,hours,days,weeks,month,year etc are portions of mans understanding of day and night.But the portions don't matter or the proportions of the portions dont matter when you dont breathe for yourself with your own mind and not breathe the air that flows from another mind.Death is scary,suffering is painful,betrayal feels like a knife through your side and yet it is the game of all games and we play with the master who not only holds all the aces and jokers but is the biggest joker playing a big joke which only he can understand.

It has been a couple of years since i visited the grave of MARCUS father of ALAN a dear friend and one of the few whom i consider family.Marcus is buried in the Cemetry at Kilpauk and on each of my visits i stop at one particular spot.It is right at the entrance on the left hand side and there are a few infants buried there some one day old,some a few days old.I stand watching them being watched over by angels as each one has them on their graves and a strange sense of melancholy grips me and my whole body feels numb and a sadness washes over me.So much tragedy,so many lives,so many unknown stories and a sense of DEJA VU,yes i have been here before and will be here again.Sheer madness i tell you as i tell myself and my feet find the path to where my friend is buried and placing the flowers i sit on a grave next to his.Well the gentleman who resides there does not mind or is lonely or f**k maybe just happy to see someones butt over his grave.yikes,i stand up and whispering the only verses i know from the world of Christianity " Our Father in heaven,hallowed be Your name" i beat a retreat promising MARCUS i will be back next year.

MERCEDES AND ROLLS
An old woman had 3 daughters. One day she decided to test her three Sons-in-law.One a fine day, she was walking along a lake shore with the first son-in-law. Purposefully, she fell down in the lake and started yelling for help.The first son-in-law jumped into the water and dragged her out into the shore. The next day he found a brand new E Class Mercedes in his door steps with the wordings "Thank you, for saving me! A gift from your Mother-in-law who loves you very much!!"

Another day she went out with her second son-in-law. Purposefully, she fell down in the lake and started yelling for help.The second son-in-law too jumped into the water and dragged her out into the shore.
The next day he found a brand new E Class Mercedes in his door steps with the wordings "Thank you, for saving me! A gift from your Mother-in-law who loves you very much!!"

The third time she was walking with the third son-in-law and she repeated the same. But that guy got scared and ran away without offering any help to her. The poor old lady who wanted to test her sons-in-law drowned and died.The next day the third son-in-law was surprised to see a new brand new Rolls-Royce waiting at his doorsteps with the following wordings...
"Thank you, for saving me! A gift from your Father-in-law who loves you very much!!"

15 Remedies You Can Make From Turmeric!

1. Treat ulcers and digestion problems: Mix one spoon of turmeric powder in a cup of boiling water, let it cool and then drink (you can sweeten with sugar or honey).

2. To relieve problems of digestion and acidiness in the stomach: Mix half a spoon of turmeric with 1/4 spoon of black pepper and a 1/4 spoon of cardamom, and swallow after your meal.

3. To relieve a sore throat: Mix a spoon of honey with a spoon of turmeric and swallow about 4 times a day.

A second option: Mix 1/2 a spoon of turmeric and 1/2 a spoon of salt in a glass of warm water and gurgle in the throat.

4. To treat fungs on the foot and nails: Mix turmeric powder with lemon juice until an ointment is created. Smear the ointment on the problematic area for a week. Recommendation: Put socks on them and sleep through the night this way.

10. To stop your gums from bleeding: Massage the teeth and gums with a mixture made of equal parts turmeric powder, mustard, oil and salt.

11. To treat mouth wouds: Mix a 1/4 spoon of turmeric in a glass of hot water and wait till it cools. Gurgle several times a day.

12. Treating stubborn calluses: Prepare a thick mix of 50 grams of turmeric powder with 3 table spoons of olive oil. Mix well to receive the salve and then smear it on the callus.

13. To treat insect bites: Make a mixture of turmeric and lemon and smear on the injured area to stop both the itching and suck away the small amount of poison they leave behind which irritates the skin.

14. For rough PMS syndrome and cramps: Mix a spoon and a half of turmeric in a glass of hot milk.

15. To easy a birth: It is recommended for women 9 months pregnant to swallow 1/2 a spoon of turmeric with hot milk every day. This combination, taken late in the pregnancy, should make giving birth a little easier.

Once there was a sweeper in a well known temple and he was very sincere and devoted. Every time he saw thousands of devotees coming to take darshan of the Lord,he thought that the Lord is standing all the time and giving darshan and He must be feeling very tired.
So one day very innocently he asked the Lord whether he can take the place of the Lord for a day so that the Lord can have some relief and rest.The Deity of Temple replied, "I do not mind taking a break. I will transform you like Myself, but you must do one thing.you must just stand here like Me, smile at everyone and just give benedictions.
Do not interfere with anything and do not say anything.Remember you are the deity and you just have faith that I have a master plan for everything. The sweeper agreed to this. The next day the sweeper took the position of the deity and a rich man came and prayed to the Lord. He offered a nice donation and prayed that his business should be prosperous. While going, the rich man inadvertently left his wallet full of money right there. Now the sweeper in the form of deity could not call him and so he decided to control himself and keep quiet. Just then a poor man came and he put one coin in the Hundi and said that it was all he could afford and he prayed to the Lord that he should continue to be engaged in the Lord's service. He also said that his family was in dire need of some basic needs but he left it to the good hands of the Lord to give some solution.
When he opened his eyes, he saw the wallet left by the rich man.The poor man thanked the Lord for His kindness and took the wallet very innocently. The sweeper in the form of the Deity could not say anything and he had to just keep smiling.
At that point a sailor walked in. He prayed for his safe journey as he was going on a long trip.Just then the rich man came with the police and said that somebody has stolen his wallet and seeing the sailor there, he asked the police to arrest him thinking that he might have taken it.
Now the sweeper in the form of Deity wanted to say that the sailor is not the thief but he could not say so and he became greatly frustrated. The sailor looked at the Lord and asked why he, an innocent person, is being punished.The rich man looked at the Lord and thanked Him for finding the thief. The sweeper in the deity form could no more tolerate and he thought that even if the real Lord had been here, he would have definitely interfered and hence he started speaking and said that the sailor is not the thief but it was the poor man who took away the wallet. The rich man was very thankful as also the sailor.
In the night, the real Lord came and He asked the sweeper how the day was. The sweeper said, "I thought it would be easy, but now I know that Your days are not easy, but I did one good thing." Then he explained the whole episode to the Lord.
The Lord became very upset on hearing this whereas the sweeper thought the Lord would appreciate him for the good deed done. The Lord asked, "Why did you not just stick to the plan? You had no faith in Me. Do you think that I do not understand the hearts of all those who come here? All the donation which the rich man gave was all stolen money and it is only a fraction of what he really has and he wants Me to reciprocate unlimitedly. The single coin offered by the poor man was the last coin he was having and he gave it to Me out of faith.
The sailor might not have done anything wrong, but if the sailor were to go in the ship that night he was about to die because of bad weather and instead if he is arrested he would be in the jail and he would have been saved form a greater calamity.
The wallet should go to the poor man because he will use it in My service. I was going to reduce the rich man's karma also by doing this and save the sailor also. But you canceled everything because you thought you know My plan and you made your own plans."
Moral: God has plans and justice for everyone...We just have to have patience!!!!!

God truly does act in mysterious ways...
and it's a nice feeling when faith is restored at heart and peace is restored in mind.
