Nisha sat on the chair and rubbed her forehead. In 5 minutes or so, he'll come and the cat-mouse race will start. Gosh! 2 years, some 24 months were enough to change a happy-go-lucky guy into a no-nonsense person sounded stupid to her, but the living example was her very own boss.
She heard the car honk, so rushed in the Rehearsal Hall of the Passion Dance Academy. She sighed in relief as she saw the batch of 10 teenagers warming up, and getting ready for their rehearsals.
He entered the RH and smiled at his students who wished him a good morning. His smile turned into a frown when he saw his P.A. standing in the corner of the RH.
"I thought my coffee was ready?" He said with sarcasm dripping from his voice.
Nisha- It'll be on your table in a few minutes Kabir sir.
Kabir- Great! So kids, let's start?
Students- Yes Sir...
The assistant choreographer, Avni and Kabir started teaching the students basic Waltz. Passion Dance Academy had its summer camp, where the students could learn dance from the famous, Kabir Singh Rathore. The kids were thrilled at this thought, and this was their first day. In the happy environment, there was one gloomy soul, Nisha Gangwal.
Nisha stared at Avni and Kabir in anger. She had mixed emotions creating havoc in her mind. Anger, jealousy, sadness, pain... Kabir left hand was on Avni's waist as he led her through the dance. Avni's cheek had pink hues, and Nisha's eyes had fire in them.
Kabir- Ok guys, Now I'll help you all, Avni?
Avni- Sure Sir...
The students took their positions with their partners and tried to practice the steps, but whenever they faltered, it was Avni who was irritated, not Kabir, surprising Nisha.
She knew dance and teaching dance was his passion, but she thought he had forgotten being happy, having a smile on his face, but this Kabir was totally different, from the one who she had seen in the last week.
The Kabir she had met all these days was rude, arrogant, never smiled, sarcastic. Was he trying to mask the pain she gave him? What was it? Who was that Kabir? A shadow? Nisha sighed as she failed to answer herself, and turned to her left when she felt a known presence near her.
Kabir- you ok?
Nisha nodded.
Nisha- I'll go get your coffee.
Kabir- No...you don't need to worry yourself... (Nish smiled thinking that he still cared for her) Go get me orange juice.
Nisha sighed. Bad habits don't go off easily. She went in the canteen and gave the waiter the order and in a few minutes was back in the RH, to see the children rehearsing and Avni-Kabir helping them.
Nisha knew she had no work there, so decided to check the arrangement for his first live performance which was to be held in a few days. She took Kabir's leave and left for the venue.
Kabir- Be back in an hour...you know mujhe shoot pe bhi jana hai...
Nisha- Yes I do... I'll be back...
She walked out of the RH and Kabir looked at her retreating figure. Pain was evident in his eyes, but he chose to close his eyes to hide that pain.
It was raining cats and dogs, spreading a weird melancholy in the capital city of the country. Nisha stared outside the window of the taxi, as she remembered the memories of the last few days.
*Flashback*
Nisha opened the newspaper and read the classified. A P.A was needed in Passion Dance Academy, urgently. She needed a job so chose to go for the interview. After giving the interview, the next day, she got to know that she had got the job and had to join the next day.
*Next day*
Nisha prayed to the Almighty and entered her boss's cabin.
Nisha-(cheerfully) Good Morning Sir!
Boss- Good Morning Nisha Gangwal.
Nisha was shocked. That was the voice she knew, that voice belonged the man who could make her blush, that person who meant the world to her...
The chair turned and she froze in shock as she saw Kabir sitting on the chair with a smirk on his face.
Kabir- Hey Nisha! Have a sit...
Nisha couldn't find the strength to occupy the seat, but pulled herslef and sat on the chair opposite to Kabir. Kabir's eyes were on her every action, while she had his eyes on him, but her mind failed to register anything.
Kabir- Kaisa lag raha hai? We met after 2 years, didn't we?
Nisha- Sir, please, can we leave the past in the past?
Kabir-(sarcastically) You think it's easy?
Nisha- Main jaanti hoon, it's not easy, par please... I don't want to look behind again...
Kabir- Then, you should look at this...
He gave her some legal paper, which stated that she would work for the academy for a year and if she leaves the job in between, she'll have to pay Rs. 25,000.
Nisha- (shouting) Tum aisa nahi kar sakte...
Kabir- (standing up) Your signature is there on the papers...
He pointed at the signature in blue ink. Nisha's eyes welled up with tears.
Kabir-(walking towards her) Kya hua? Bura laga? But you signed the papers, no one forced you, did anyone?
Nisha- (firmly) Fine, I'll work for you...
Kabir- Cool...
He bent down, looking in her eyes as his hands rested on the armrest on Nisha's chair. The magic happened and Nisha lost herself in his dark orbs. Kabir bent a little further, and that was it. Nisha felt numb.
Kabir- Don't you dare cheat this time sweetheart...
He whispered in her ear and moved away. He walked out of the cabin, leaving behind a lost Nisha. She didn't know whether his closeness had frozen her or it was the fear of facing Kabir that shocked her.
The next 6 days were hell for Nisha. Kabir didn't leave a chance to annoy her, He would order black coffee, and would then say he wants to drink some juice forcing her to drink the coffee, knowing that she hates black coffee. He would purposely come close to her and then move away as if nothing happened, knowing that his closeness would make her crazy, taunt her for her past deed, and what not... It wasn't physical torture, it was emotional one, because of which she would go home and cry for hours when the city slept blissfully...
