Chapter 10
Nisha knew what was the truth still she looked at Kaira with uneasy eyes. She did not know why but she wanted to happen it the other way. Somewhere deep in her heart she hoped for her assumption to be proven as wrong. But sadly it was not the case. Nisha just forced a smile on her face and hugged Kaira congratulating her. Kaira replied a thank you hugging Nisha and then after a while broke the hug.
Kaira: Nishiye, let me take you out to Kabir and Viraj. I think it is time we should tell Vir about it too.
Nisha: Yeah I think you two can tell him after all Vir is the best friend of both of yours.
Kaira: So what are we waiting for? Come on...
Kaira went to the drawing room followed by Nisha. Kaira went direct to Kabir and hugged him. Kabir was surprised on this as well as Viraj.
Kaira: *Hugging Kabir* Kabir, I think we should tell Vir about it as Nisha have guessed it already.
Kabir: *Breaking the hug* What?! You already know Nishiye?! Oh well, yeah then I think we should tell Viraj too.
Viraj: What happend pals? Tell me.
Kaira: Kabir can you tell him? I am feeling shy. *Blushing*
Kabir: Oh Kairu darling you are too sweet.
Viraj: Will anyone ever tell me please? *Getting irritated*
Nisha: I think these two will never so let me tell you Vir. Can I Kairu and Kabire?
Kabir: No no Nisha, I am telling him now. We wanted to tell you Vir that, that ...
Viraj: What?! *Tensed by suspense*
Kabir: That Nisha is a female donkey.
Both Kabir and Kaira bursted out into laughter whereas Nisha and Viraj looked at them being blank for some moments.
Nisha: What?! What does that even mean Kabir? *Shocked*
Viraj: Were you two trying to crack a joke or what?
Kaira: *Controlling her laugh* This crazy girl thought that we both are in a relationship Vir and we don't want to let anyone know about it now.
Kabir: *Laughing* Oh Nisha, how could you?
Nisha: That means you two are not?
Kabir: Are you mad?! No. Kairu came to me and told me in my ears while hugging that what we were suspecting was right and told me to play along with her in her drama.
Kaira: So how was it Nisha?
Nisha who was till now confused and pretty much blank could not resist herself but to give a big smile of relief. Kabir noticing that, narrowed his eyes.
Kabir: Nisha why are you so happy?
Nisha got embarrassed badly on Kabir's words and tried to control herself.
Nisha: *Trying to pretend* Oh no no Kabir, I just realised that what kind of a stupid act I did the whole day so I smiled thinking what a big fool I am.
Kaira: Hahaha Nishiye, that sure you are.
Viraj: Nisha, you are a wonderful girl. People do make wrong assumptions. No worries. Don't stress.
Nisha: Haha, Viraj I am not stressing myself to anything.
Kabir: By the way Kairu as you were saying before going to Nisha in the kitchen, I think that Nisha should teach you making the alu parathas for dinner now before you two leave tonight.
Nisha: WHAT?! TONIGHT?! *Loud tone because of being suprised*
Kaira: Yes Nishiye, we have too. I know we were supposed to go tomorrow morning but Viraj got a message from a class mate that we have a make up class tomorrow afternoon. *Sighed*
Viraj: Yes, I wish we could stay longer.
Kabir: Yea me too pal. But now Kairu and Nisha hurry up. These two will leave in 2 hours from now so I think you two should start now.
Kaira: Kabire why I feel that you are craving for alu parathas?
Nisha: Yes, I second that.
Kabir: Now as you two have caught me already so what are you waiting for? *Winked*
Viraj: Make me some too.
Both Nisha and Kaira nodded in a disapproving way as if they were thinking what to do with the boys and left for the kitchen.
Nisha and Kaira had a great time making alu parathas and Kaira proved to be a very good student. Kaira could not thank Nisha more because she could go back to her flat in Sydney and make alu parathas from then. Viraj who lived just 1 block away from Kaira demanded that Kaira should make him some often too. They had a gala time at dinner where the other three pulled Nisha's leg for thinking such a thing about Kabir and Kaira, praised Nisha's cooking and told Nisha about the beautiful memories they shared from childhood to till that day. Nisha enjoyed the stories a lot and she felt really glad to have such friends. After the dinner, it was soon the time for Kaira and Viraj to leave.
Nisha: I will miss you guys. When are you going to come back for another weekend?
Viraj: Oh Nisha, we will miss you a lot, especially your food. As far as the matter of coming back, this time you two should visit us at Sydney.
Kaira: Yeah, you can stay in my flat and Kabire can stay at Vir's.
Kabir: Even if we plan something like that, it won't be possible before 2 or 3 weeks because you know it will take time for Nisha to adjust in a foreign land and I don't want to rush her for anything.
Viraj: Kabir, you are impossible. Nisha will do just fine. See we are here on our first weekend just like that she will too, right Nishiye?
Nisha: Umm, I am quite not sure Viraj. It is like this is my first time that I am not at home and neither at Delhi. In fact I am not even in India. I may take a bit time to get settled with this environment and university.
Kaira: Absolutely right Nisha. Take your time. We will miss you so much but if you two won't be able make any plans after 2 weeks, then we will come for a visit again don't worry.
Viraj: Uh, yeah Nisha. We will meet again wherever the place be.
Kabir: I guess my friends have already forgotten me. *Making a fake grumpy face*
Viraj: Wow Kabire the drama king as always. Come on, before we leave, give me a hug bro.
Kabir smiled and hugged Viraj.
Kaira: Come on, take me in for a hug too.
Three of the best friends went for a group hug while Nisha admired them. Breaking the hug Kaira hugged Nisha. Viraj was about to go to Nisha to hug her but understading that, Kaira held him back and told him that Nisha might don't like it as she had grown up with strong Indian cultures and she just had met them yesterday. Understanding that, Viraj shook hands with Nisha. Kabir and Nisha went down at the basement of the apartment building where Viraj's car was. Viraj and Kaira got in the car and started off for Sydney smiling at Kabir and Nisha while they waved their friends a goodbye in return.
Coming back to the flat, Kabir and Nisha bid each other goodnight and went to their rooms. Nisha locked the door of her room and just after that she took a deep breath closing her eyes. Then opening her eyes she smiled, she smiled with her all. She knew what was the source of her happiness but she wanted not to focus on that. She could not fall so weak for Kabir Vij. Kabir had no one in his life but there were a lot of alarming things about this matter. They were in Australia living in a same building. Moreover, for a week in a same flat too and he was her Aman didi's brother-in-law. She had to think about her family. No she couldn't think like that. She mentally prepared herself not to fall for Kabir. Just when Nisha was going through all these, she heard a knock on the door. She opened the door and saw Kabir stading there in a trouser and tee shirt.
Nisha: You want something Kabir?
Kabir: No. Oh well, yes. I want your company at terrace.
Nisha: At terrace?! *Surprised* At this hour?!
Kabir: Umm yeah, please Nisha don't say no. Trust me you would love it there.
Nisha: *Thinking a bit* Okay Kabir, I am coming with you to the terrace.
Kabir gave a big smile and almost dragged Nisha outside the flat.
They view from the terrace was out of the world Nisha felt. It was so soothing to see the Melbourne city decked up with night lights and the cold windy vibes gave the perfect combination to it. Nisha closed her eyes and tried to feel the senerity. Seeing that Kabir smiled.
Kabir: So how are you feeling Nisha?
Nisha: *Opening her eyes* This is incredible Kabir. I just don't know what to say.
Kabir: I know Nisha. This place seems always so amazing at night. Don't worry we will often come here at this hour and have long deep conversations.
Nisha: Long deep conversations?
Kabir: Yeah remember, you wanted me and Kaira to have some alone moments? *Laughs* To which I replied that me, Kairu and Vir had spent enough time together. So now I think I should spend some time with you, after all we were childhood besties.
Nisha: *Bit blushing and trying to hide it* Kabir, you know I am so glad that I got friends like you three and you are just too nice Mr. Vij youngest.
Kabir: Nisha, I had to be after all you are Miss Flawless.
Nisha: *Laughs* No I am not Kabire.
Kabir: Nishiye, no you are.
Nisha: No I am not.
Kabir: No you are.
Nisha: Kabir, I guess if it will continue like this, we will end up fighting over this whole night.
Both Kabir and Nisha laughed.
Kabir: I think we should talk about something else. We should start from where we were aparted in childhood. Come on tell me how was your school days in Alandgarh?
Nisha: It was amazing Kabir. You know our school...
The two childhood best friends kept talking and sharing their life incidents of the past years while the time kept passing away of a beautiful night in Melbourne.
