So Nimki finally told her sister about their mother.
Looks like Rambachan wanted this truth to be hidden from his other two children.
Probably he told Nimki that their mother killed her dreams for their sake just to ensure that Nimki didn't stay angry with her mother.
But it seems to have backfired in a big way.
It's true Nimki's mother ran away to fulfill her dreams as a singer but it is very clear that she died because she could not fulfill her dreams despite giving up everything and moving to Mumbai.
Why did he not tell Nimki that her mother died because her dreams turned sour?
Had he told Nimki that she would have turned out different probably.

I thought Nimki read the letter left and had been eardroping her parents conversations when she was younger it was shown in flashback so Rambachan didn't have to say anything. I think she saw her Mother's frustrations and didn't want have regrets in life. Even going too far the other way she is still hurting people.

I would wait till the real truth is out. I wonder why she came back at all if she was to commit suicide?
Was it because of her failure as a singer or because she understood she was no longer respected and trusted as a mother and as a wife? Did Rambachan erase every little thing she had in that home or it happened after her death?

Nimki didn't cry after her death. What does that mean? Was she in a state of shock or she didnt care about her anymore?Nimk has conflicting emotions about her mother. Is it possible Nimki has misinterpreted the whole thing? Instead of learning that every person has to take the responsibility of the decisions they take in life, she became an escapist. Instead of planning a career for herself she chose an easy way out where someone else would take care of her and her desires.

Probably Ram believed Nimki will eventually get over the shock. So, he didn't interfere. Its obvious she never recovered from that. Also, hiding the fact from other two children was important. Heart to heart conversation was always avoided.

That could be true since Nimki's point of view doesn't always match up with the majority so maybe she did misinterpreted the situation.

It might be that her mother thought she failed at everything realising she lost her family in the process hence the suicide or it wasn't the kind of life she wanted to live anymore.

Nimki is right in wanting not to end up like her mother by living a life of regrets and overt sacrificing. She is right that one needs to take care of their happiness. But Nimki has taken this philosophy to another extreme. She probably doesn't aim to achieve anything in life after seeing her mother fail. Instead she is trying to pursue happiness in a superficial way- by marrying into a rich family. If she continues this way, she may end up like her mother, living a life full of regrets.

Nimki not shedding a tear upon her mother's death shows that she was affected deeply by the incident and she has internalized it all in an unhealthy way. No wonder, her personality and her way of looking at life is somewhat messed up. If anything, more than a marriage, she needs an outlet to let out her emotions properly and a closure from that incident. Only then will she be able to analyse herself and her life in a healthy manner.

Dekha maine bola tha na...
Her mother never went to Mumbai. She returned from railway station itself. Nimki's harsh words and that Mono was hurt because of her led her to commit suicide. I dont blame Nimki at all. Its her guilt that killed her.

Why did Ram hid the contents of the second letter? She should have known that its not her unfulfilled dream that frustrated her. Its the fear of losing her family that killed her. Family is above everything. She would have been a better person then.

Finally watched the episode which detailed Rambachan'version of the story.
So Nimki believes that unfulfilled desires and dreams were the reason behind her mother's suicide because she hasn't been told about the suicide note her mother had written.
He should have told about that since she already knew that her mother committed suicide unlike Mahua who didn't know how their mother died.
Rambachan messed up his daughter's life.Best of intentions going horribly wrong.

This explains why she's so self absorbed but still doesn't explain how she can be oblivious to others feelings for her

It must have been terrible for Nimki to have to stay in the same room where her mother committed suicide. I guess Ram bacchan didn't have an option to move to another house.

I also wonder whether Nimki somewhere feels guilty inside for what she said to her mother when her mother returned. Maybe Nimki thought her words were responsible for pushing her mother to suicide and maybe she is covering it by her hatred for her mother and shutting out her feelings.

I dont think so. She never learnt the contents of the second letter. She was young and didn't understand why she came back at all. She still believes that her mother committed suicide because she couldn't become a singer or because it was too late to achieve anything.
