The guy lacks acting skills it's so evident. Whether he plays a goon or lead it's not convincing. He's not delving deep into his character hence he can't pull it off.

Thankfully you said it dear otherwise I was thinking you are the only one liking him as lead he's really not a LEAD MATERIAL sorry but lead except from acting they must please to the eyes also then the viewers appreciate the acting power.

The way he laughs the way he shows he's careless there's something which is not connecting with the audience May be he's paid less that's why they have chosen him as lead otherwise who's going to chose someone like him as lead.
