Yes, the autocratic attitudes of private schools and high fees have had many governments trying to do the same.

And don't get me started on the coaching centers on every nook and corner. They will make every single student IITian, or at least they claim to. 😆

@FT But the regulation is only for Matric schools..CBSE and ICSE still demands huge fees. For play school itself it is 75000 per year...😕

Haha..Yeah..Coaching centers are growing in such a pace...it is just opposite to our country's economy...😆

6k per month for play school? 😲

They have been complained about those boards too, let's see what they do. I myself studies in ICSE till 10th and CBSE for 12th. Although my school was not very elite, so not very expensive. But still expensive.

Yes. And parents are ready to spend soo much for their kids. Nowadays parents want their kids to study in the best school no matter what the fees is.

Matric and State board syllabus has lost its respect now. Everyone wants only CBSE and ICSE syllabus which is definitely expensive than the former two

If they can afford it, then more power to them. Although, it somewhat becomes a social status symbol for some people, whose kids studies in the most expensive school.

Well, in my state they are better. State boards doesn't have good schools, and it is very less scoring. I found those boards good, ICSE is tough and builds a good base, CBSE is more in line with the competitive exams after 12th.

But I feel making kids study in such expensive schools..giving them a high lifestyle changes the kid's way of looking life. Just because they can afford does not mean..they spend so much right?

That is something I like about Ahluwalias they have shown. The family is clearly shown as a upper middle class or upper class family...but they still make sure their kids lead a simple life. Thats what shud be done.

Will every child be able to cope up with the high standard? A child studyng in Matric is suddenly shifted to CBSE...the child suffers the most then

@dmg Yes. I am serious. My colleague had spent so much for play school because it is near to their house. People are ready to spend because both husband and wife are working and they don't know where to leave the child.

Yeah. when I used to study 10th, there used to be 3 terms..and each term was 3000rs I think..

If it has better facilities, then sure. Just as a status symbol, then I don't agree. Although rich people can be down to earth too, no?

I believe in instilling values in kids and knowing what's right and what's not. Money is irrelevant, it's not like all rich kids are spoilt and all other kids are good.

I can't comment on that unless I know your state board's syllabus, although most are comparable and not much different. And that's why you need to plan it from the start, so that shifts aren't problematic.
