Hello everyone! Tanu and the others were a bit busy today, so I volunteered to open the new adda! I hope you guys like my take!
This episode evoked a lot of mixed reactions and emotions from the audience, I'm pretty sure of that. While I like the fact that we get to see many loose ends getting tied up, and some more new and minor tracks, I for some reason don't like the way the track is progressing. Maybe its because I watch this show, expecting to see a young couple, and how do they face the different problems of life together, with together being the key word here. No offense to the rest of the SP shows, or to Navya itself, but it seems like we're watching a normal saas-bahu saga these days, only difference being the fact that Navya-Anant aren't married yet. We have all the trademarks! Navya facing all sorts of family issues, Anant getting pissed with Navya cause he feels she doesn't give him enough time, Navya's growing misunderstandings with her friends, Navya's realisation of the difference in the culture and other stuff, Navya worrying about everyone she's acquainted with, whoosh! But without further ado, allow me to begin the detailed analysis.
1. Navya and her various OTP convos: Was it just me, or did more than half the episode consist of Navya talking (or trying to talk) to different people OTP? In the Amar-Navya convo, I was surprised to see Amar asking Navya for opinions and stuff. I mean, didn't he like hate her? What's with the sudden need for Navya's opinion in everything? I mean, I find it a bit funny, the way Amar treats her these days. There was nothing that made him wanna give her some work and start liking her, except the part where he realised that Trisha was taking undue advantage of her innocence. Even then, according to Trisha all the teams were made, so how did the most important work of selecting the articles come to Navya? OK, lets say it came to Navya. Didn't we have an ME last Saturday, where we saw that Navya finished her work, and there was that entire issue of Nimi-Anant-Navya? Then now why did he say that he wanted all the articles by the next day? Hadn't she finished the work? Next was the Appy-Navya convo. Now this is another classic case of character assassination. From the first episode, we've seen Rits being the most mature out of them all, and she was the one who'd always explain Appy/Navya/Ranbir/Anant whenever there was any issue between the friends, and the others would act like stubborn gits. Here we see Appy acting all mature and understanding, and Rits getting all emo cause Navya couldn't come. CVs, WHY do you change the characters so much, and so often? đĄ Anyways, forget that. Once again I fail to understand, why doesn't Rits comprehend Navya's situation? Navya's not living on her own with her family, where she can walk in and out whenever she wants. She knows how orthodox Anant's house is, and still she's not understanding Navya's predicament? And she's Navya's best friend from childhood? What sort of friendship is this, where you can't understand your friend's predicament? OK, even if she didn't understand why did Navya bail on them, shouldn't she be mature enough to listen to Navya's side of the situation, before avoiding her and stuff? Completely pissed me off! Renu-Navya convo was nothing fancy, except for few wise words like a girl doesn't marry just the guy, but his family too, and its the love and support of her husband that allows her to be able to adjust to the new environment. I really pitied Renu when she said Anant is a hero, I mean, bechaari ko kaisa villain mila! Really, the dialogues in today's episode were really good! Anant toh as usual is pissed off and stubborn and jealous cause he couldn't talk to Navya, and I'm not gonna increase my BP talking about him.
2. Navya's trip down memory lane: Navya reminiscing about her goof-ups in the Bajpaayee mansion was really interesting. I was pleased to see that she's maturing so fast, and she understood her mistakes, and was eager to make amends for it. Of course, the part where she says she's ready to do all this for Anant cause she knows he loves her and is always there for her was really nice, but also had a sense of foreboding to it, IMO at least. Navya's ready to do all this for Anant, and she thinks he'll be there for her, but the way he's been behaving for the past few days, makes me shake my head in despair, worrying about Navya's life after marriage. Is this guy really gonna stay SO immature? Its not fair to Navya, who really has to adjust to her sasuraal, and try and please Anant at the same time! Why doesn't he ever understand her man, seriously! I'm sick of his immaturity, cause it has no basis! Raat ko sone se pehle baat karni hi hai, without fail, even if Navya has some other work to do! If her phone was engaged, can't he realise that it must be something important, EVEN IF he assumed she was only OTP with Amar? Doesn't he trust her that much? Does he think she's the type to sit gossiping with Amar at night? Doesn't he know Navya that well already? Where's the maturity dude! She's working, she's already behaving like half a Bajpaayee Bahu, cut her some slack! Let her attend to her duties! đĄ
3. An insight into Sanjay Chacha: The best part of today's episode, IMO at least! We got a rare insight into Sanjay and his character, something that wouldn't have been possible if Navya wasn't around, cause those loonies don't even let him talk much! The guy is treated like shit there man, just cause he has no interest in the business and he doesn't like their orthodox values! I loved the way he indirectly told Navya that he couldn't comprehend the thoughts and morals of the Bajpaayees, which is why he stayed away from them. Who wouldn't do that? He's one of the few sane people in the house, and to save his sanity he's staying aloof from the rest. I loved the fact that he told Navya not to change, it was a very good thing, and he's probably the only person who told her she didn't need to mould herself completely to the Bajpaaayees, even though he said it rather indirectly! If you look closely, everyone kinda expects Navya to change completely for the Bajpaayess, even her own family. Its right in a way, cause in India its the girl who moves out and lives with the guy, and she has to adjust to his family as well, but the fact that he asked her to retain her values and identity was really inspiring. Really, such dialogues make me wanna hug the dialogue writer! He/She made a rather simple scene look so effective!
4. Sugandha's Mysterious Behavior: MIL is all smiley on reading some letter, and the moment Om comes in and opens his mouth, the smile is wiped off her face. *sigh* Anyways, I'm pretty sure its her anniversary the next day (or something equally important; else, why would she remember that Om went to Indore on that very same day the previous year?), and being the male chauvinistic pig that he is, Om probably doesn't even remember it! Or if we go back to Navya's birthday track, to the part where Anant admits that in his house no one really does much for everyone's birthdays, it is safe to assume that anniversaries (other important but mundane events) are pretty much ignored as well! And obviously if Om is not gonna be there on an important day in her life, her mood is gonna be all sour, and so it was! Navya, being the purrfect SP bahu (in the making) that she is, immediately noticed this and wanted to discuss it with Anant, but here this Niraala Babua was showing her attitude and not talking to her properly. While the fact that whether or not its MIL's anniversary/birthday or whatever event it is isn't clear yet, the fact that our very own Nabbya Rani is 105% gonna come across that letter is something that is like gonna happen for sure!
5. Rama ka Dirama: I am tired of Rama's suspicion. I mean, how much can one tolerate her suspecting her husband and Renu, and her interrogating Navya about Renu? Woman, get a LIFE. If you're sooo suspicious, go and ask your husband on the face whether or not he's having an affair! And the fact that you're sooo insecure about your husband, shows that you yourself realise that you're not good enough for him! Its better I don't talk about this lady. While I love her character to bits, and Snigdha acts perfectly, her dirama is beginning to annoy me, cause its a useless track which IMO makes no sense.
Thoughts for the day: Navya had a new salwar! Hallelujah! đ 𼳠Jokes apart, I didn't really like Soumya's acting, Today was a fine episode where she could have showcased her capabilities, but I felt she was lacking somewhere. She's not the only one to blame, but the director is equally at fault, for not being able to understand the requirements of the script, and not being able to bring out the best from the actors! While I love the jealousy/anger waala My Heart Goes Dhin Taana, I HATE the KKKG one (name courtesy- Jen!)! Sound directors, please DON'T murder the nice tracks that you have!
And that's all from me for now! Feel free to comment and post your takes!
Lots of Love,
Ritchelle!
