The Final Countdown
Tonight is the finale of the second season of Nach Baliye. Tina and Hussain Kuwajerwala will stake their claim to the title and Gouri and Yash Tonk will try to whisk it away. The stage is set and battle lines drawn. Here's what the couples feel about their one last dance.
Gouri and Yash Tonk
'We are cool' The couple says they are both chilled out. "Even if we were out in the third round of the contest we wouldn't have felt bad. It certainly feels great to be in the finals," says Yash.
The journey so far "In the comedy round when we did a spoof on Don, we got 30 points from the jury and that's when we thought we had it in us to do better," says Yash. "For the past few months we have been working very hard and now, it will all be over. Malaika and Sarojji dancing with me for the One Love number is a memory I will always treasure," he says.
Mixed emotions "I am nervous because it will be a 15-minute jugalbandi between the two couples. I am just praying that everything goes off well. I am happy that we reached the finals but it won't be too bad if we lose either," says Gouri. 'Variety is our USP' 'We have always used different concepts. We guess that's gone down well with the audiences," says Gouri. Yash smiles, "Our USP is that we are a happily married couple, and we are with each other irrespective of the outcome of the competition.
Tina and Hussain Kuwajerwala Since Tina was incommunicado, her busy husband Hussain filled in the blanks. 'Reaching the finals is big enough for us' Hussain says that they had never ex pected to last till the final round because "Tina wasn't a good dancer to begin with. She hadn't faced the camera before, so the fact that she made it possible for us to reach the last round is a huge achievement. So even if we lose tonight, I am still happy for us." Divine intervention BAG Films, the producers of Kumkum - Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan (that Hussain is a part of) organised a puja for the couple on Sunday.Who'll take the booty?
Malaika Arora Khan: "I don't have a favourite. I like both."
Maaninee Mishra: I would think Hussain and Tina because they are talented effortless performers.
Gauri Pradhan: Both the couples are very close to us so I can't pick any one.
Manav Gohil: I think Hussain and Tina should win because the consistency they have shown is worth the title.
Narayani Shastri: Have to be Hussain and Tina simply because they are better dancers.
Varun Badola: Hussain and Tina have definitely shown more courage. But I have see Yash and Gouri too turn things around.
