Finally the law of averages caught up with the couple. Despite the fact that the couple got second highest votes (Hussain-Tina got the highest votes) from viewers, Hiten and Gaui finally had to finally bow out. "We knew we are not good dancers. But the idea behind participating was not to win but to enjoy the experience. The end result was not so important. And we enjoyed it thoroughly," says Hiten, admitting that viewers' votes helped them reach the 11th round. "The fact that we reached the quarter final round despite being average dancers is itself an achievement. It's perfectly cool that we have been voted out but the fact is we have learnt to dance. I am grateful to the audience who supported us, particularly Shikha from Delhi who gave us solid backing with her mass voting." Star had asked them to participate in the show last year itself. "But we were too busy with our serials. There was no time for rehearsals. But our fans were disappointed. They wanted us to compete in Nach 2. Which is why we said yes to the second season of the show," says Hiten. Talking about the entire Nach 2 experience Hiten says, "It was different and required a lot of hard work. We could not afford to make any mistakes," he adds. Reacting to the judges' oft-repeated remark that the audience was helping television's popular jodi to progress to the next round, Hiten says the judges have been saying it right from the first round. "But we took it positively and worked hard on our steps. It does feel bad when someone criticises you right after your performance because in every performance lot of hard work goes in. So it does affect you. But when you analyse it later you feel that the judges' criticism was right because their job is to judge your performance," he reasons. Now that the Nach 2 journey is over, it's back to routine for television's popular couple. Hiten will concentrate on his two shows Kyunki and Karam Apna Apna and Gauri will return to her role of Nandini in Kyunki. |
