From a gawky newcomer in Aashirwaad to being the most popular actor on television, Hussain Kejriwal aka Sumeet of Kumkum has come a long way. Thankfully, being in the glamour world for over a decade hasn't changed Hussain's earthy tastes. Be it food, clothes, women... he likes them simple. And simplicity seems to define Hussain's 2-BHK home in Lokhandwala too
1. Dare to bare The minimalistic furniture in the Kejriwal's living room is a clear indication of their spartan lifestyle. "My house wasn't so clean before I married Tina," says Hussain who dated Tina for nine years before tying the knot with her. The actor feels that life before and after marriage is very different. "Two people who live under the same roof have to get used to each other's sleeping, eating and other habits. Tina discovered that the man she had been seeing for years is actually a clumsy and messy kid," laughs Hussain. 2. The icing on the cake Hussain is a big foodie. "I like to have chicken for breakfast, lunch and dinner," he says. The actor would like to learn basic cooking but never has enough time on his hands. Hussain's mother lives with his brother Qaeed and his sister-in-law. They live in different flats on the same floor. Hussain's flat has been decorated by Tina. "We moved in this house soon after we got married," says Tina. 3. Three's company Tina kept away from the media for years. "Everyone knew that there was a girl in my life but nobody knew her identity." As Hussain has always been popular with his female co-actors, did Tina ever feel insecure? "No way!" she exclaims. "The time factor was the only reason for the rough patches in our relationship." Hussain admits that he was unable to give Tina the time and attention she deserved. "And now it's because of Nach Baliye that we're getting to spend time together," says Tina. 4. Doting hubby Tina is a self confessed shopaholic. "She always shows me the stuff she buys. And then I have to comment whether I like it or not," he says. In fac t, Tina also consults Hussain on what clothes to wear before a party. "I think Tina looks fabulous in sarees, salwar-kurtas and long skirts," says Husain , who feels that Tina spends too much time before the mirror. "While shooting for Nach Baliye when other actresses get ready in minutes, Tina is still struggling with her make-up," says Hussain. 5. Gym 'n' tonic Tina has a tendency to put on weight. "I've never aimed for an hourglass figure," she says. But now she realises that looking good on screen will earn her brownie points. Tina has asked Hussain to train her. The actor himself is very diligent about working out and is a regular gym-goer. "We follow a high-protein, low-carb diet. Fruits, salads and juices are a must," he says. Both husband and wife follow a healthy diet and avoid junk food completely.
