Prologue One: From A Lover To A Sinner Living A Widow's Life

Sitting in her room, her white sari clung to her body
Her fingers traced the picture in her hands

With a deep sigh she looked down at the chain attached to the handcuff, claiming her to the bed

Looking into the mirror she focused upon her sunken cheeks, her protruding bones and the dark bags under her eyes

Closing her eyes she sighed, this was the life of a prisoner
Forced to live when she didnt want to

Her heart thumped at the thought of her lost love, her protector, the man who owned her heart

Neil Khanna.

A lone tear made its way down her already sticky cheeks
Neela raised her hand to wipe away her tear but she pulled back

"Let me suffer, I killed him, I killed the man I love, I deserve death"
Neela shook her head "Avni please"

Pulling the blanket over her shoulders she turned away from Neela and allowed the grief to consume her again, loneliness being the only warmth she would allow herself to feel

Drowning in his memories she clenched her fists, the blade in her hand cutting through her skin

"main aa raha hoon Khanna "

Prologue Two: From Neil To Neo-

Chocolate brown eyes opened wide, grasping the mud in his hand the man flipped himself up

Grabbing the enemies wrist, he threw the mud in his eyes, lifting his leg he kicked him in the stomach, sending him flying back into the tree

Ripping his shirt off, he dropped it to the floor
His bare chest drizzled with sweat

Growling he ran towards the enemy and tackled him to the ground

Lifting his elbow he hit the enemy in the neck, pulling his arm he bent it back , sighing as he heard the snap of his bones he dropped him to the floor

Looking down at him, he grabbed the bag of money then kneeled next to him

" jab aap agalee baar choree karana chaahate hain yaad rakhen"
Kicking mud into his eyes he walked away

Dropping the bag at the homeless shelter, a woman grabbed his leg "Neil Sir, again"

Neil shook his head "Not Neil, Neo"
Sliding his sunglasses on he walked away

Crossing off the day on the calender he smiled "main aa raha hoon Avni"

When I went out in search of my Ranjha (lover)
(Raajhan/Ranjha is referring to Heer-Ranjhna, a famous romantic couple in Indian History,
similar to Romeo-Juliet)

Neela stroked Avni's hair as she placed her head on her lap, her tears still dampening Neela's sari.
"I dont know how to live without him" she sobbed

Neela had no words as she held Avni close, blaming herself for all of the events that broke Neil and Avni

Neil sat to the table, putting some cereal on his spoon, he lifted it then dropped it, shoving the dish away it tipped, spoiling the table

"There isnt enjoyment in anything without you Avni " Neil held onto the necklace in his hand, his eyes glimmered with unshed tears

Avni had nothing but her memories to rely on to ensure her Neil was real
So many months in this house as a prisoner and she was starting to feel like Neil was just an amazing dream

She wondered how he died, was he alone?
Or did they try to save him?
The thought often became to much so she stopped thinking about it

Avni looked at a very sick Neela, the food on the floor good enough for a dog.
Vivaan had refused to give medication, she needed to run and bring it for her

But just the memories of what the outside world had taken away from her scared her the most, she had to be brave for Neela
But she wasnt sure if she could cope with being part of a world her love was not

Neil deleted the voicemail messages from his family, they still wanted to see him but there was warmth in his cold life within the memories of Avni

Leaving this city would be leaving her, he didnt want another marriage and his mission would always be to find her, until that was done Neil would stay alone with his memories of her

Avni would have thought shed have cried out by now, but she hadnt as she looked out of the window trying to plan her journey before she found a way to uncuff herself

She kept repeating that this was for Neela ma, but the burden of her loss on her heart wouldnt allow her any strength

Neil looked at the picture of Avni on his bookcase, the one he had taken on his phone when she hadn't been looking

Picking it up, he pressed a kiss to the picture before putting it down and walking outside

Part Two: Finding Home In A Crowded Place-

The door slammed, Vivaan had finally gone to work
Avni grabbed her hair grip, working on the handcuffs she finally opened them

Kissing Neela's cheek she stood up "I will get the medicine then be straight back"
Neela stroked her cheek "Be safe"

Pulling her hood up, she pushed the window open, climbed out and jumped down, she was greatful it wasnt a huge distance

The shops were crowded and buzzing with music and people's voices
Her eyes fell to a couple

"Im not kissing you, we're in public" said the girl
The guy wrapped his arms around her waist "Just one"

When the girl shook her head , he pouted and turned away as she laughed

Memories of Neil flooded her head as she made her way through the markets
Grasping her head she sat on the side of the road, taking deep breaths

She looked up to see a poster "Neo, the poor people's saviour " but the picture was scrubbed out

Smiling she was thankful there was still good people in the world
Neil hummed as he walked through the markets, handing out blankets to the poor

Avni stood, bargaining "Please I dont have any money but my mothers ill please"
Neil watched from behind, pulling money out of his wallet he slipped it on the table

Avni turned to see who helped her but couldnt see anyone in the crowd
Paying the man she took the medicine, praying whoever helped her would get their happiness

Neil stood infront of an elderly woman
"I have nothing to give you in return"
He shook his head "Just pray I find the woman I love"

The woman nodded "Whats her name"
Neil smiled
Avni stood behind them, waiting to get past
"Avni, her name is Avni"

Avni gasped, was it one of Vivaan's men, were they looking for her?

The woman patted his head, Avni stood behind a market as she watched the man walk away
Following him she put the medicine in her pocket

Neil looked down at the shadow on the floor, he was being followed
Swinging his keys around his finger he whistled

Turning quickly he grabbed Avni and pushed her into the wall
"Why are you following me"
Avni pushed him back and looked down

Going to run away, he grabbed her wrist, turning her to face him he immediately let go when he saw her face

"Avni" he muttered

Part Three: They're Back!!!

Neil's hands were all over Avni, stroking her face, her arms, grasping her hands

"I can't believe you're here, infront of me, I've been looking for you everywhere"
Pulling her to him, he rested his face into the crook of her neck

Allowing her scent to calm him
"Avni, Avni, my Avni" his voice was husky , filled with pain and desperation

Pulling back he looked at her, her hands still down at her sides
Shaking her shoulders, she blinked

"Neil" her hand reached up to touch his face "you're alive"

"Of course i'm alive, you cant get rid of me that quickly"
Avni pressed kisses all over his face "Neil, I thought I lost you"

Neil laughed as she held him close, as he tried to pull away she tugged him back
"No, just let me hold you, I need to know youre real"

Neil wrapped his arms around her waist, lifting her up "Oh Avni, youve lost so much weight, what happened"

She shoved him "I thought you were dead idiot, what took you so long"
Neil smirked "Oh I was trying to find Riya"

"So go to Riya then, idiot"
Neil smiled, kissing her cheek "forgive me"

"You have to help me get Neela Ma out of Vivaan's house, and I will only forgive you when you do what I told you to in the hospital"

Neil saluted "Yes ma'am, show me the way"
