PART- 3

Avni knew Neil would be angry. But to this extent, thought Avni shaking her head at her husband's possessive behavior and ending another one of her call to him which he obviously didn't pick up. And how oh so readily he picked up Juhi's call, thought Avni bitterly.

Avni tried once again to no avail. Determined to talk to Neil, Avni walked towards the direction of Teachers' cottage, wherein lay Neil's room. There were separate cottages for Teachers and Parents. Avni stopped in front of Neil's room and thought about Neil's anger.

She knew he would be super angry and she wanted to talk to him right now. The thought of Neil going to sleep while still being angry with her pained her. Avni knew there was only one way by which she will be able to meet her husband who acted like an infant sometimes.

Neil was fuming by the time he reached his room. The vision of his wifey, his precious Avni in the arms of that monster burned in front of his eyes. He shakes his head to let that image go. But it was as if that image was imprinted in front of his eyes. Anger, rage, fury these words wouldn't even come close to explaining what Neil was feeling right now.

The monster that went into a deep slumber after Avni-Ali fiasco, has awakened. And how. He knew it wasn't Avni's fault. He knew it. But still, the fact that it wasn't her fault doesn't help in erasing the image that is conjuring in front of his vision. So, he did what was ideal for him to do in this situation. Ignore Avni.

He hadn't wanted to leave her alone with that monster but if he would have watched her in Vidyut's arms even a millisecond more, he wouldn't have stopped his body from marching towards them and beat the hell out of that monster who dared to touch his wifey.

He knows his wife is very clumsy. Must be because of her damned sandals, thought Neil bitterly. He needs to buy a new pair of sandals for Avni, ones with much better grip. He was deciding how he and Avni would leave the place without anyone noticing, he heard a noise.

It was coming towards the direction of his room's window. Just as he was about to remove his gun, Avni jumped inside his room through the window.

Neil was not even surprised, nothing about his wife surprises him anymore. "Avni? inquired Neil rooted to his spot near the bed.

"Neil said Avni looking into his eyes, a guilty expression on her face.

"Dekho Neil, jo bhi tumne dekha, waisa kuch nahi tha. I just, started Avni but was cut in midway by Neil.

"You fell! You are such a klutz Avni, uttered Neil, infuriated.

Avni who until now had a guilty expression on her face transformed into indignation and asked

"Now it's my fault that I fell?

"No! whispered Neil so slowly that if Avni wasn't standing near him, she wouldn't have been able to hear it.

"No!? asked Avni utterly confused now.

"NO! whisper shouted Neil. "It's your sandal's fault. He said while inspecting her pair of heels. Tomorrow we'll go buy another pair of shoes for you, with better grip so you wouldn't fall into another man's arms while I am standing there like an idiot watching., completed Neil.

"Oh my god Neil, you are crazy, said Avni shaking her head disbelievingly at her husband.

"I cannot stand you falling into another man's arms grumbled Neil.

"You can only fall into my arms.

"You are not allowed to fall in the places where I am not with you.

"This is ridiculous Neil, said a wide-eyed Avni looking at husband as if he's gone nuts.

"No, it is perfectly sound. nodded a proud Neil having found "perfect solution.

"It's your jealousy speaking, said Avni rolling her eyes.

"Oye! Neil Khanna doesn't get jealous, stated Neil raising his eyebrow.

"Hmm, looks like he's very jealous right at this moment.

"His cheeks look like red tomatoes with smoke coming out of his ears.

"You!!! Neil launched towards his wife, taking her in his arms and landing on the bed with her.

Her back pressed into the mattress and him hovering over her, his weight supported by his elbows.

"Tumhe toh mein aaj nai chodunga promised Neil before he started tickling her.

After what it felt like decades, Avni conceded defeat and apologized to him to make him stop. Her giggles still echoing in the room.

When she was able to get her breathing controlled, she took the opportunity of Neil being distracted by feeling proud of himself and overturned them so that now she was on the top with Neil below her, at her mercy.

A very shocked Neil looked on to his wife who was hovering over him, a mischievous smile on her face.

"Ha toh kya keh rahe they tum? asked Avni innocently her finger circling to his chest.

"Uh wo stuttered a very red Neil who wasn't able to form a sentence.

"Wo wo kya? asked Avni opening a button of his shirt.

"Uuuhhh stuttered Neil clearly flustered by his wifey's ministrations.

She successfully opened three buttons of his shirt and adjusted his shirt so as to the place where his heart lies is visible while he looked on.

She placed her palm on the place where his heart is and closed her eyes feeling his heartbeat.

Neil looked onto his wife wondrously never having seen such a beautiful sight before.

"MINE! stated Avni after opening her eyes. "You understand Neil. Your heart belongs to me.

"And my heart belongs to you. There had never been and never will be anyone else for me.

"For me this is it. You are IT. continued Avni looking deeply into her husband's eyes.

"I never expected to fall in love. I never believed in love after what happened to my parents.

"But you, smiled Avni "Your stubborn self, crashed landed into my chaotic mess of a life and made it your mission to save me with your love and I, I never did stand a chance. Did I? I couldn't help myself from falling madly in love with you.

"Now my heart is brimming with love for you. There is no place for anyone else. There has never been. And never will be.

"Okay? asked Avni after showing a glimpse of her healing heart to her husband.

"Okay! answered Neil silently accepting her heart and her, his arms wounding around her body tightly, crushing her to him.

That night Avni didn't return to her room. Because her husband wouldn't let her. They cuddled in each other's arms, talking about anything and everything on the face of the earth. They both knew now that no one can separate them. Not a not-so-dead ex-girlfriend, not that supposed ex-girlfriend's child, Vidyut the monster or even Sexy Sakshi for that matter.Avni had finally found her shore and she was determined to never let go of it.

After a while, amidst all the chaos surrounding them, they, who were each other's safe haven, slept peacefully in each other's arms, a contented smile adorning their faces.
