PART 3
Avni's felt as if her world has stopped moving as his lips met hers. His soft but cold lips on her warm ones awakened these unknown sensations within her which she has never felt before.
Avni gasped as Neil's arms found her waist and pulled her closer to him.Taking advantage of this, Neil's tongue delved deeper into Avni's mouth wrecking havoc inside her body. His tongue stroked hers boldly without a care for anything in the world. It wasn't a gentle caress but punishing. He was punishing her for leaving him with his lips and his tongue.
After few seconds, as her shock subsided she started responding to his kiss. Her tongue dueled his as she poured all her frustration, all her anger, all her love for him into the kiss. Eyes closed, arms clutching each other with all their might, their tounges battled for dominance. After what felt like years they came up for air.
Breathing heavily, both stared into each other's eyes. Avni was dazed with the explosive kiss they just shared while Neil was reminded of Avni's betrayal. How she left him and how close he had been to lose her. He was trying so hard to control the rage that was simmering in his veins once again.
"Tum apne aap ko samajhti kya ho Avni? What the hell is this? And don't you think I have a say in the decision that you take for our relationship?" Roared Neil while showing Avni the letter she had written for him.
"What am I to you Avni? What am I to you Avni that it was so easy for you to leave me, not only me but my family and your own mother."
"Yahi sab ke liye behtar hai Neil. Tumhare liye, Juhi ke liye, tumhare family ke liye aur Neela Maa ke liye bhi." said Avni not meeting her angry Neil's gaze.
"Yeah really! Well, How do you know what is better for me? Are you a mindreader or better yet are you God?" mocked Neil.
He wanted to shake some sense into her. It was really frustrating when Avni went into this self-deprecating zone. It was all because of Dayawanti Mehta. He has never hated a woman before as much as he hates Dayawanti Mehta for making Avni feel like this.
"You love Juhi. Juhi loves you. Who the hell am I to come in between two loved ones Neil. I am just making all this easier for you.
"Waise Bhi I don't deserve you. I don't deserve to be loved. All I do is wreak havoc in lives of my loved ones" said Avni in a small voice that could barely be heard by anyone but Neil.
Neil was disturbed that his Avni, who is so brave, is believing all the crap Dayawanti Mehta uttered about her.
Neil took her chin in his hand and made her look in his eyes. As her blank stare met his, he continued
"Suno meri baat tum. Aur dhyan se sunna."
"I don't love Juhi anymore. All that was between us is in the past now. I really thought she had died Avni and even though she has been my inspiration for doing so many things in life, she does not have my heart anymore Avni."
Avni's gaze never moved away from his. His eyes were shining brightly with the truth. Avni believed him. She believed when he said he doesn't love Juhi anymore.She felt as if some part of the weight which was in her heart has been lifted.
"What I find hard to believe is how my Avni can believe a word uttered from Dayawanti Mehta's mouth." said Neil with frustration laced in his voice.
Avni broke out of Neil's embrace as if she did not want any physical connection and crossed her arms on her waist, hugging herself.
"Neil my father rejected me, my grandmother almost killed me, and my baby brother tried to sell me.Me his sister! There must be something very wrong with me if my own blood is trying to punish me."
Neil's heart went out for Avni who was looking so small and so vulnerable.
"If I did not even receive the most basic form of love any child could get, that is family's love, then how am I supposed to believe other people would love me?" questioned Avni with such vulnerability in her eyes, that Neil wanted to cry for that little girl whose childhood was taken away from her.
"Neil you know I had this hope that I will reform Amol and will transform him into Aman. Ayesha Maa's Aman. But that hope was shattered today. I am broken, Neil. I am so broken that I don't know how much time will it take for me to heal. How does one overcome from all this? I have no idea. My light is diminished, Neil. But you Neil, you are full of life, full of light. I wouldn't want you to be with a girl who doesn't even know if she would feel normal again or not. You deserve better Neil. You deserve better."
Neil's heart broke all over again after hearing all this. He always knew she has suffered a lot in the hands of her own family but Avni never talked about it, she never shared her feelings,
her pain like this in front of him. All she focused on was revenge, not on the pain that was gnawing her insides out. All he wanted to do was to take her away from all this pain, hide her away fromthis hurt but he knew he cannot do that. What he has to do is make her face this pain, while standing shoulder to shoulder with her in this fight. He can motivate her to fight for herself, to fight for him and everyone else who loves her. What he can do is always be with her and love her. And he would do just that. He would not let his Avni lose this fight, he would not let his Avni succumb to darkness.
His mind made, he takes Avni arm and makes her sit on their bed. He kneels down in front of her and cups her face in his palms. There is so much hurt and sadness in her eyes that it is unbearable to look in her eyes which mirrors her battered soul. But a vision of their future together, happiness surrounding them floats in front of Neil's eyes which gives him strength.
"Avni, do you know why Juhi doesn't have my heart anymore? Why I let her go this easily when I had just got her? Why I don't love her anymore?" Curiosity flickered through Avni's eyes.
"Because I love someone else. I love this broken but brave girl who stole my heart. I love this girl who came into my life as a case but then became my life itself. I love this girl who saved me from the lonely life that I was living before she entered into it and made it so exciting and thrilling. She not only made me fall in love with her, she made my whole family fall in love with her too. Dad, Bebe, DD love her more than me. I love that girl who is the bravest and most selfless person I have ever come across and just the thought of losing her kills me. I love you Avni. You are my heart. You are my life. You are my everything."
Surprise was written all over Avni's face. She was about to say something but Neil placed a finger on her lips, shutting her up in the process.
"Avni I know after what all you have suffered, it is very difficult for you to trust anyone. But I am asking you to trust me, to give me and our relationship a chance. Avni I can't change what all has happened with you. What I can do is be with you always. I will be with you to fight all the demonsof your past. Avni even if you don't love me, you feel something for me. That kiss that we just shared is the proof of that."
"I know even though you don't love me, you have strong feelings for me. I am ready to wait even a thousand years for you to love me. For you to heal. Till then my love is enough for both of us because I cant, I won't let you go away from me ever."
Tears flowed continuously from Avni's eyes as she stared at her husband who has just opened up his heart in front of her. He says he can wait for even a thousand years for her to fall in love with him. She has never trusted or respected any man until she met him. This man kneeling in front of her has changed her perspective on men. He has opened up her heart in a way no one ever could. He had taught her how to trust, how to live life, how to love. She loves him. The man who is kneeling in front of her saying he could wait his entire life for her to fall in love with him, she loves him more than life itself. And she would not let any of the demons of her past come in between them.
She says the same to Neil. Neil is so shocked, yet relieved after hearing Avni's confession. He hugs this amazing woman who loves him as much as he loves her. He hugs her out of sheer happiness.
Avni locks her arms on Neil's waist tightly, pulling him closer to her if that is even possible only to feel a sense of peacefulness in his arms.
She is his chaos and he, her peace, thought Neil while enjoying his wife's embrace.
