CHAPTER 11

NEIL POV

"Kya Tillu ab toh tere ko dekhne ke liye yours mom ko appointment needs he."

"Now, you don't stays with me buts don't picks your phone too now."

"DD se zyada chats ho jati. He insteads of my supercop son. What days?"

Mom babbled with trying to fit another bite of paratha in my already full mouth.

"Mom I'm very busy with a case. Bahut important aur bada he ye. Toh nahi mil paya."

"Baas mere se 'your own mom' se na bahane he. You don't love me anymore after all that."

"Aisa nahi he mom. You know I did forgive you but that's not my reason for not coming here."

"Why you still waiting for that silly lily Ananya she left my Tillu and maybe moved on. You still hanging like a monkey heres."

"Aisa nahi he Mom aap nahi samajo gee. Par ye chhodo dad kahan he?"

I asked finally without taking another bite as mom was trying to make.

"Yours faithfully, dada ji is in his office working on some boring deal. Aaj kal toh mere paas koi rahta hi nahi. Ja. Ja."

"You know ma I love you." I said to mom hugging her.

"Ya. I Know I'm supermom of the super cop Tillu." She said eyes filled with tears.

"Dad, Aap busy ho?" I asked peeping through the door and no he was not working. Surprisingly but was do something I didn't expect.

"Oh my god when did u started to play on PlayStation!!!" palmed my face horrified.

"Puttar, Aare tum kab aye?" giving another control in my hand to play.

"I came hours ago, enduring Mom love bursts and omg you were playing videogames. You should have called me."

"You should be punished with these love bursts, I suffer constantly. Living under one roof without someone to balance it out and you don't visit often."

"Maybe muje bhi mere bate se milne ke liye meeting set karni padegi ni future." Said dad while killing my one move at game.

"Sorry. Dad I am very busy in a case of drug dealing right now. Par aap batao kya chal rahe he business?" changing the topic, applying a different tactic at game.

"Sab vaise hee he Neil. Baas kabhi kabhi lagta he ki retire ho par phir lagta he nahi tum abhi duty par ho."

"I know dad. But app chinta maat karo me handle karo ga business par abhi nahi." "I know."

"Aur kuch nahi hua?" I asked conversation to go on.

"Ha. Who could I forget? You remember Sejal your playmate in childhood? Shekhar my business friend, her dad, He died. He was killed in that recent terrorist attack in New York."

"Oh shit. I didn't read the name of causalities in attack. What of the business? Sejal would be under so much burden of business just after her father's death."

"Ya. His company SAGE is suffering here a bit but is stable and running exceptionally well there after such tragic changes."

"Prakash ji, Tillu come eats dinner is served. Hurry." Mom called just then. I didn't know where the hours went.

"Lets go or Your Mata ji ka comes here ho jaega." Putting away the PlayStation.

"And you totally lost to me Tillu. Better Luck next time."

Dinner was filled with conversations of mom's recent adventure and dad's funny business meeting scenarios and boua ji going on handiwork workshop and Karenna's new internship in her desired firm.

However, most depressing was the silence from one person Bebe she was sitting eating quietly without taunting mom or appraising Kareena or laughing on dad's jokes. Just staring at me with eyes filled with guilt.

Three years have passed but like me, Bebe was still hanging on guilt of doubting her and making Avni/ Ananya leave.

Finally with the dessert was served.

"Tillu teri favorite kheer banaee he. Just the way you like."

"Thanks mom, I was missing it." I said completing my serving.

"Take a second serving too then." Said already in process to refill my bowl.

And my reflex action with a hand "No. Mom I'm full." And it was spilled on my shirt. "OH. Sorry Tillu." Apologizing mom.

"Oh.shit. Koi nahi Mom I will go and change." Already standing and turning to go upstairs.

I wanted to go and prepare for tomorrow to start early, there went my plan 'naale me'.

Opening the door. Still it was like the day it was abandoned first by Avni and then by me.

Accidently I opened her part of wardrobe and felt myself abandoned too.

Clearly, my days were written by gods to taunt me of Avni and her absence.

Even I was set to taunt myself. Mistakes...mistakes.

Mistakes followed me everywhere.

I have to get up early tomorrow; surely self pity will not make me so I hurriedly changed and take final glance at the room and exited to escape it.

My mistakes.

Here is the late update for which I'm sorry😔. But got a hectic schedule, college.

Will update soon with the anticipated meeting that very one is waiting for.
