CHAPTER 1

NEIL POV

Kya kar diya tumnhe Neil? how could I?

I was regretting every second of this damn day first that reporting of the transferring police inspector, with a case of jealous husband and damn to hell an emergency call from home and top of it mom's over drama. Life could never be simple for me ,Avni, us.

FINALLY for second time in my life when I was falling in love after Juhi, with Avni but fate couldn't stand it first Ali, then Riya and my mom and her assumptions. And then Bebe and me.

And who could I?

And who could I jugde Avni with her sickness?

Thus I was regretting every action of mine today not sitting at breakfast with Avni, Not picking up her phone , not listening to her and making her sad and list was endless but most important was not saying to her that I LOVED HER with all her identities and problems I loved her because I NEIL KHURANA, IPS Officer a damn jerk fearing rejection and losing love again.

But I am Neil I don't repeat my mistakes twice.

Waking from the hangover from the previous night ,first thing I noticed was the empty bed and Avni not in the sight. I stood with a jerk rushing to the wardrobe but to find it empty and the Avni's suitcase gone my mind was repeating and catching up last night event- Bebe furious at Avni, Avni saying something along the lines of leaving house and Rhia coming to bring me home late.

"AAHH! Kya kar diya tumnhe Neil? I shouted to myself. rushing out of room searching for Avni seemed to me as a losing case. Kareena and Amul were having a conversation in the balcony so I went to ask them.

"Amul kareena, Avni ko dekha woh mil nahi rahi he?please

Amul with a sad face replied Nahi milegi chali gayi woh. She left.

He looked up with a angry expression aap nahi ho different papa se, nahi li aap ne di ki side unho ne kuch galt nahi kiya. She left last night after the whole fiasco with Bebe and Shewata Aunty embarrassed her, blamed her, insulted her, and Aap kya kar rahe the watching that standing bloody drunk. He said in a angry tone and left the balcony.

"bhai. Bhabhi ko support nahi kiya aap ne aur woh galt nahi thi. I am angry with you for not supporting superbhabhi but Maine last time Bhabhi ko aap ke papa se baat karte dekha tha. Possibly you could make her return.Bye bhai and she left too.

I was standing there ashamed but also alone all alone because of my foolishness.

I called DD "DD tumne Avni se baat ki thi kal? Do you know where is avni?

"sir ji, I talked to Bhabhi last night she asked me to drop her at a hotel and I dropped her at Gemini hotel.

"DD why didn't stop her? Or asked me? Or whatever she left home now hysterical "sirji You were drunk. Remember. bhabhi bahut sad thi and she didn't listen to me but I safely dropped her at hotel asked what she would now? I cut him off "DD what did she say? DD. "just that she going far away.sirji.

"DD I will talk to later bye..bye

i ran to our room changed in fresh cloths and ran to house front door ignoring the calls of bebe and mom because I had a wife whom I have to beg for my mistakes and confess my love.

CHAPTER 2

NEIL POV

"The world is not a wish-granting factory"

I know now because all I wanted was a chance and I didn't get one. she was gone long gone before I could reach her, seek for her forgiveness, and confess my love but I lost it.

I ran to my car, not caring the speed limit I speed up through Mumbai roads towards the hotel which surprisingly was near but seemed way far as if time was slowing down. Finally when I reached the hotel and at the reception counter. "Listen could you inform me in which room Mrs. Ananya is staying?

"Sorry sir, we can't tell our residents info without asking them replied the receptionist "Ask her then? what are waiting for."

"Sure.sir"

checking the computer to find the info "sir there is no one staying here with this name "HA! check with the name Avni"

"Sir there was a lady staying with this name Mrs.Avni Khanna' but she checked out this morning at 7 am and as I remember she hailed a cab to airport."

"SHIT. Thank you so much for help"I called out already out of the hotel's gate toward the car starting it rushed to the airport stepping on the accelerator.

"AAH! It is already 8'o clock." And my what if thoughts jumped in my head.

What if I missed her at the airport?"

"What if I couldn't find her at the airport?"

"What if I lost her forever?"

"what if aah... kya kar raha Neil Focus."

I knew that I made a terrible mistake in letting her go and I was about to make an another one by letting her leave. Mistakes, mistakes they followed me everywhere. I skidded to a halt when I arrived. Ironically, there was only one space left. I got out quickly, ran as fast as I could, searching.

And then I saw her. Nothing in the world mattered but her. Her long hair cascaded down gently to the small of her back... she was leaving.

No. "WAIT!" I shouted desperately.

Avni hesitated at the threshold of the gates, and she turned slowly. For a split second her face showed uncertainty as if she was afraid. And then a cold mask appeared and she turned back around.

She was going to leave. And she was walking inside.

"No!" I breathed. I was too late.

The doors closed, and there was no reversing anything.

I was so close and I let her slip through my fingers. Now she was gone, far away as she said but I was shattered because I couldn't tell her now that I loved her and now for me love was an irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired and my desired was gone.
