CHAPTER 8

NEIL POV

Morning was as usual dull for me and slow with rain pouring constantly.

My morning routine to chamkoo cafe has been in motion again since Avni left, as her favorite pooha can't be found anywhere but here.

So my weekly experimental breakfast changed into a shift-wise breakfast pooha and coffee or nothing just a time to spend alone as if I wasn't alone enough.

Ali now didn't come to meet and chat as before and take order but occasional talk did happen but without any mention of Avni.

Doing my quick breakfast and paying up, I walked to my car and took off to police station.

Entering the police station premises, I parked my car and headed towards conference room and a junior opened the door, thanking him I entered the room.

People were all checking files, scrolling computers typing. And rushing here and there so I cleared my throat to call the attention.

Everyone quickly compiled their work and sat at their seats and I took mine and gestured to begin what they had.

The team had done their work well and brought major facts and finished it up in an hour.

"So. To make this clear. Lets summarize it all." I said standing up and took the place of speaker.

"This is a chain of drug dealers through out Mumbai area. They export and import their own drug shipments."

"Also they acquire their money and drug from pharmaceuticals companies by blackmailing the company or rather say its fixed employees and do illegal work under their name and do major drug dealing near coast side."

Forming a step wise strategical plan in mind I explained it,

"So. Our action plan to solve this should be:"

"Find every pharmaceuticals companies information that is based in Mumbai or has a branch and give it to me by noon."

"And we shall proceed from there to next step." I said reaching for the door but stopping DD.

"DD, I want you to oversee that list yourself. Its very important for case to miss out any name of companies."

"Ji. Sir ji I will personally will oversee it and bring it to you by noon."

"Thanks DD, you are lifesaver and I have to meet some senior officer to discuss this case progress and our findings. So. I should be going."

After the meeting the action plan for the case was approved and had full access to resources to solve this efficiently and quickly.

"Sir ji. Here is the lists of the companies and are sorted by their performance. I proofread it myself as you instructed," said DD handing me the case file.

"Thanks DD. Come in inside. Lets discuss this through." I said opening the front door of my apartment for him to enter.

"So. DD did some thing new came in department?" covering all areas of duty so I don't neglect other cases.

"No major cases came that we couldn't handle our self, just normal thefts and fights."

"Ok.Lets cover all the company names based in Mumbai and there performance"

"Ji. Sir ji I already covered and picked out the company that had a perfect track records." Giving a separate list with names.

"And there is this list of three or four companies that had a prefect track records but had changes in profits for a while." Handing another

"And this is the foreign co.'s and its branch in Mumbai."

"And the list with names of co. and its branch facing loss in market or was prefect but are not now."

Thank god the work was now easier. DD showed his skill at places needed, really saves time and I appreciated him for it.

"Great DD. Now we names of companies, we have to find the people who are blackmailed,"

"Surely these are not regular employees but people in positions to make it work and people blackmailed."

"We are very close now. Find these listed at loss' companies head of department names and their contact details."

"We will take two teams of professional to check these companies and interview the heads with me and one with you on day after tomorrow."

"Ji. Sir I will ready these teams. And sir Mata ji was calling me when you didn't picked her calls."

This case was already taking too much research and complicated that I didn't want any other twist and turn in it but to go smoothly and have criminals behind the bars.

But no, fate has started a new idea for this twist and turn.

CHAPTER 9

AVNI POV

I felt a warm body beside me in bed hugging me as I opened my eyes I smiled because it was my favorite sight my baby sleeping in my arms peacefully with a smile.

He was beautiful my angel. Didn't time fly he was so tiny went I first held him my eyes filled with tears and he was so big yet so small.

We were in our bubble and no one could come in it. And I closed my eyes and snuggled with him.

"Ash. What are you doing? Duck stays in bathtub not air."

"Stop making them fly." I said just catching a duck, which was sailing in air towards me.

"No MA. My ducks fly. Quack. Quack" said Ash who as always didn't listen but I smiled, as whatever he did was my favorite part of the day to me and memories to cherish.

He was my miracle and that little miracle was trying to climb out its bathtub now and splashing water on floor.

"I think someone is becoming a big boy. And what happens to those boys?" I asked and just I mentioned that he ran out of the bathroom naked and I chased him.

"No. I AM FLASH, and the fastest man alive" he ran quoting his favorite hero around the room and Me, I ran chasing him Towel in one hand.

Finally that said Flash slowed as I scooped him up wrapping him in towel carrying him to the bed laid him down and tickled him a bit.

And he chuckled happily, "No. Ma. haaa. Haa haa. Sooorry."

"And what more do we say with sorry?" I asked tickling a bit more. "Pleaseee."

"So. What Ashneel Khanna will like for today's breakfast?"and he started his plans.

Finished with breakfast. We, Ash and I with Saroj took a car with driver to the central park to walk and stroll out. We watched the ducks and I let Ashneel run wild and play in park as I watched with him with Saroj.

"Ma'am you said you have to talk about something." She asked breaking the silence first.

Meeting with the Board surfaced my mind but choosing to let it slide till now but it was not an option anymore.

"Hhmm. Yeah I with Ash have to go Mumbai to settle some issues there at the main branch. I don't know when we will come back but I try to come back as soon as possible."

Listening the place of Issue she frowned and sad "Ma'am but Mumbai. Won't it complicate things Ash baba father stays there, doesn't he?"

Sighing, the doubts and the fear in my heart rising with very passing hour of departure, I confined them with a single person beside Uncle.

"Ha. Wahi he Neil Mumbai me, Woh, meri family, mere in-laws and bahut sari dil tutne wali yaade."

"Neil toh janta bhi nahi Ashneel ke bare me." I said staring to the happy figure on the swing.

Sympathizing with me, Saroj replied, "Ma'am don't worry. If fate has made you stop at this pedestal sure it will show you the way ahead."

Chuckling, a bitter laugh I replied "Fate has a special cell for my torture in this life it never satisfies with my happiness and find a new one every time and you know, Mumbai is that my own hell."

"ASHNEEL. LETS Go, come on." I called out to bring Ash's attention.

"Ma. You know I went this high on swing and I played with Roar the dog of my new friend." He narrated his adventures and I awed and oohed with Saroj.

"Wonderful Ashneel. Lets celebrate it with ice cream. We will go to ice cream parlor and then stop by office for a quick errand."

Making him seat in his car seat, seating myself and giving destination to the driver.

We picked out our favorite flavors and went to office. There a valet opened the door and Ash jumped out of car chatting excitedly with valet and I followed them, people smiled at Ash and said warm greeting as he chatted with them by stopping by them and when people saw me they greeted professionally and continued there work.

"Saroj, keep an eye on Ash I will be back I have some quick sought outs to do." Addressing Saroj standing behind me and I climbed steps to my office.

Finally every thing was straight order, second in command appointed as in charge, Details about my departure clear and responsibilities in check. So we returned to the Mansion and we attended the dinner and I addressed the staff too and appointed Saroj in charge. Put an already ready to drop Ash to bed and I packed our luggage with help of Saroj.

Around in one hour it was done, dismissing Saroj to go rest, I dropped to bed like dead only to wake up early to catch a flight to my personal hell.
