Avni was walking through the long corridor of Kapoor Mansion looking for Neil. She tied her hairs in a neat bun and continued walking. Just then she heard a laughter echoing in the mansion. It was Neil whose laughter reached her ears.
She followed the sound of crackles which led her to the garden. She saw Neil on the swing laughing wholeheartedly with a girl. She walked round to see them from a more appropriate angle. The girl was Vishakha. Both of them were swinging at a very high pace. Vishakha is sitting with her leg stretched and Neil is facing her with crossed legs.
"How's your wounds now?" vishakha asked him.
He raised up his T-shirt to show her the bullet wounds.
"They got healed really soon" Vishakha smiled at him pulling his T-shirt down.
"Yup!!" Neil smiled at her.
Avni stopped right there as she didn't wanted to disturb the two.
Neil was narrating Vishakha about the Khannas. She was listening to him with a calm face. His eyes, his antics, that million doller smile, everything about him made her forget the miseries of her life for a second.
Then he started narrating about silly and cute things Avni often do. While talking about Avni he got so excited just like a child talks about his favourite game or a girl describes her favourite doll.
Avni saw him bursting into fits of laughter holding his stomach. Vishakha wasn't crackling loudly. The laugh was in her eyes. But slowly seeing him, her smile started forming again. The way her lips twitched, the way her eyes filled with joy , the tear that dropped down her face, the way her honey eyes admired him, it all made Avni felt like Neil has brought back the old Vishakha she met. But somewhere inside her heart, she understand that how she must be feeling seeing a person you know yet you don't know.
As Vishakha saw Avni smiling at them, she waved her hand in her direction and gestured her to join them. Neil noticed Avni approaching them but kept his focus on Vishakha.
"Hii Avni! Welcome to Dehradun.. Come Neil was talking about you only" Vishakha was about to get up to hug Avni but Neil pulled her back.
"Was talking about me... Or laughing on me" she said sarcastically looking at Neil.
Neil rolled his eyes and Vishakha moved her head in disbelieve towards Neil.
"You guys... Enjoy. I'll catch you later" Avni said.
Avni was not at all jealous with Vishakha... There was nothing to be jealous of. Infact she really liked the girl. But being Jerry she has a birth right to show tantrums to her Tom.
She retreated back but she slipped due to wet grass. Neil jumped from the moving swing and within a fraction of sec he was near Avni.
"You should have been careful. You got hurt somewhere?" he asked holding her hands and making her stand.
Vishakha wanted to help Avni but she found it to be cute rather than tragic. So, she just admired the cute couple eating the chocolate Neil brought for her all the way from Mumbai.
"I m fine. You please continue your mocking sessions. I'll help myself" Avni said cleaning her cloths.
"As you wish" Neil shrugged his shoulder and left her hands which made her fall again.
He went back faster than he came. Now Avni became seriously angry.
"So mean!!! You should help her" Vishakha was about to go but Neil held her back.
"Don't worry.. I know her" he smirked.
"Now she'll stand. Twitch her lips sideways in frustration which will redden her nose even more." Neil told Vishakha without looking at Avni.
Vishakha looked at Avni in awe who did the same.
"She'll tuck her hairs behind her ears. Then will kick the ground with the same hurt foot. " he predicted further.
"She did" Vishakha said as she saw Avni doing that.
"She's really crazy!" Neil smiled as he heard Avni's scream as she kicked the ground.
"Then she'll deep breath twice moving her hands in the air. Then she'll walk in lumping. But she wont enter. Will stop at the door. Stare me with her hands on her waist." he told Vishakha further.
"She's staring" she said with her mouth open and eyes wide.
"Now will walk towards us... Talking to herself with hands moving accordingly. Will accuse me of everything. Then there comes the epic "puppy face".
Phir karunga na main... HELP" he slipped out the chocolate from her hand and took a bite leaning backward.
"She's coming" Vishakha said wearing the same expression as she saw Avni approaching them.
"50 metres... 40...30...20...10...And..." he looks back to see Avni standing beside him.
"Don't you have a little courtesy to help me?" Avni said gritting her teeth and flaring her nose.
"I just did... But you said you'll manage by yourself" he replied.
"Aise to main kahungi naa... But you should help me.. Specially when all this happened because of you" with this she performed the last thing he forecasted.
He immediately got up and stooped to check her foot. Her ankle was swollen. He felt guilty for making her walk this much in hurt condition.
"Lemme help you..." he handed her the chocolate he snatched back from his Chubby and slipped his hand on her waist and lifted her up.
Avni immediately snaked her one arm round his neck and made herself comfortable up in his arms.
As he carried her in, Avni ate the chocolate he handed her and started her endless chattering.
Neil looked back at Vishakha who was still sitting on the same swing and smiled at her which she returned.
As Avneil went out of her site, she glanced at the empty space beside her, which was occupied by Neil few minutes before. She wry with the laboured ease of loss.
The swing came to rest... She couldn't make it move again. She let out a laugh...which wasn't a smile but mocking herself for getting outsmarted by fate and loosing the battle with negative scoring.
"Neil please save me... I don't wanna die.." Avni was screaming for help.
Neil was standing far from her and even after trying several times he couldn't move. Mark was pointing his gun at Avni and before Neil could react...Shot...
"AVNI!!!" Neil shouted. The driver stopped the car.
"You ok sir!" the driver asked him.
"It was just a dream... She must be fine..." he thought.
"Move back to home." he instructed the driver which he followed without asking anything.
Neil was going to office for a meeting with board members. But he was having a feeling that something is just not right which he ignored earlier. But seeing her getting hurt even in dream made him unnerved and he wanted to see her right away.
On reaching Kapoor Mansion, he came to know that Avni went to Vishakha's home with her.
AT VISHAKHA'S HOUSE
"Vishakha... It's kinda risky. I think you should give a second thought. I can't endanger your life for it." Avni told Vishakha.
"It's important Avni. And we're doing it for a good cause. Nothing will go wrong." Vishakha reassured her.
Flashback...
"Avni!! It's time. Mr Singh will be here tomorrow. So you have to come with Neil." Vishakha spoke on phone.
"Don't worry... I'll be there. This game is nearing it's conclusion" Avni replied.
Flashback ends...
"Whatever has been snatched from you will be returned for you today...for ever" Vishakha squeezed her hand.
"Thank you Vishakha..." Avni hugged her. She knew a thank you can't pay back what she has done for her and Neil... But she didn't had any words to express her gratitude.
"Avni please! You and Neil are really important for me. I love you both and I want you two to be together and happy forever." she reciprocated the hug.
"Now focus. Take this injection... If excessive bleeding occurs then inject it. Have a grip on your emotions. And please don't worry... I won't die." she smiled at Avni.
"Is it compulsory. I mean we can fake it?" Avni was feeling it to be selfish on her part to endanger her life.
"He's a doctor. We can't take a chance. It would take him just seconds to catch the mistake. And everything will get spoiled... So now move fast he must be coming anytime" she tried to convince Avni.
Avni moved back.
"Avni!" Vishakha called out her name which made her look back at her.
"Please nickname your child after my name..." she said like she's making her last wish.
A tear dropped down her face as she ran into her room. Avni moved from the place taking baby steps.
"Aaahhh" a very high pitched scream echoed in Dr Singh's ears as he entered the house.
He immediately ran towards Vishakha's room in a sudden fright. As he reached her room, he found the door locked.
"Vishu... Baccha open the door! You ok... What happened?" he was knocking on the door fiercely.
"Vishu... Vishu..." the old man who always remained calm and cool was weeping like a child at just thought of her only daughter getting hurt.
He screamed for servants and guards but no one came. He went to the Window and witnessed the most painful and horrible scene of his life.
Vishakha was sitting on the bed in a pool of blood as she cut her wrist not once.. But several times.
"Vishu... Beta open the door... Someone please save my daughter... Please.. Is someone listening" he smashed his hands on the Window frame. He was weeping like a child. He tried to break Window or door but all effort went up in vain.
"Vishu... Baccha please open the door. Dad loves you a lot. I'll die without you. Why did you do this?" he tried to convince a semi conscious Vishakha to open the door herself as this was the last way to save her.
"He deceived me...Dad. He deceived my love" she screamed.
"You know na.. I was a good girl.. Mumma always told me to give others as much love and care as possible. I did..dad i did. Never expected anything from anyone...except him. What I wanted from him...
Love in return of my love... No.. Never... I just wanted him to be honest with me. But he deceived me" she said sobbing, having hiccups. Emotional and physical, both pains were evident on her face.
Dr Singh was continuously shouting for help and was pleading Vishakha to open the door.
"He loves Avni... He loves her. I m no one to him. He don't even remember that he once loved me..." she said wincing in pain. She was dangerously bleeding and Dr Singh's heart was sinking with each passing second. He never felt this helpless in his life.
"If he would have been dead... I would have lived with his memories BUT I CAN'T LIVE CARRYING HIS DECEPTION ALL MY LIFE." she overexerted herself to make the last line clear and audible. Her heart cursed her for saying such thing and she felt a shrill pain in her heart which made her wince.
On seeing his only daughter lying in a pool of blood on her death bed, the manupulative politician and a shrewd businessman died. He was just a helpless dad witnessing the pain of his daughter.
He broke down on the floor.
"HE'S NOT YOUR NEIL VISHU. HE'S NOT OUR NEIL... I M SORRY. IT'S ALL BECAUSE OF ME" he screamed as loud as he can.
As Vishakha heard it, she closed her eyes. She lost the sensation of her body. She lied back on the bed full of her own blood stretching her arms...waiting for the inevitable.
"Please open the door... Is there anyone... Please save my daughter" he joined his hands kneeling down on the floor.
"He's not our Neil" he muttered between his sobs.
"BECAUSE HE'S MY HUSBAND... IPS OFFICER NEIL KHANNA" Avni walked into the hall.
Dr Singh looked at her but Avni didn't spared him a glance. She ran towards the door. Opened it with the key she was having. The sight before her eyes horrified her to eternity. Vishakha was lying covered in blood and was loosing her consciousness. Her condition was beyond Avni's expectations. She ran to her. Immediately injected the injection which she gave her and bandaged her hand.
Dr Singh was sitting on the floor staring his daughter.
The injection stabilized Vishakha and strengthened her a bit. Much to Avni's relief she opened her eyes.
"Let's go to a doctor" Dr Singh held her hand to support her.
"Don't touch me Mr Singh... I won't go anywhere. I want to know the truth about Neil khanna and Neil kappor right now" she said in an authoritative tone.
