CHAPTER 7
I am really sorry readers for late update . This chapter is specially dedicated to MS KAUR😃 as i promised to update last night but couldn't. And i really felt bad for that ðŸ˜. So guys enjoy...😆
Avni was standing at the door of Neil's flat and is laughing out loud. She saw Neil in the kitchen with a burning noodles filled utensil on flame, frowned forehead and a spatula in his hand. He was looking damn funny.
Avni : (hardly suppressing her laugh) ye kya kar raho ho tum.
Neil : stop laughing. I was hungry. And you only told me that if i feel hungry then i can cook here.
Avni : ( walking towards him) i said cook not burn.
She looked at coal turned noodles.
Avni : today i have brought you the food cooked by mom. Actually i got busy so couldn't come to cook food for you.
So come. Have it.
Neil nodded. They sat at the table and Neil took a first bite. Avni was so eager to know his reaction. He got lost somewhere having first bite.
Avni : hey! Kya hua. You didn't liked it.
Neil : no its extremely tasty. Convey my thanks to mom. She has magic in her hands.
Avni : actually mom is horrible at baking(smiling) but she cooks the most tasty food in the world.
Neil was looking at her with pained eyes.
Avni stared him with what's wrong with you look.
Neil : actually Ms Avni i lost my mom when i was 5. So mujhe nahi pata tha ki maa ke haath ka khaana itna tasty hota hai.
He continued to eat. First time he has talked about his family his past. So Avni tried to ask him something more about him.
Avni : i m sorry. So now you know everything about me. Tell me something about you, your family, friends etc.
Neil : i know EVERYTHING about you. Really????
Avni : (stammering) ahh almost.
Neil : may be i know almost everything about you but i understand almost nothing about you. You're really complicated.
Avni : but i don't even know that much also about you.
Neil stopped eating . Looked at Avni
Neil : you don't need to. And yeah! I don't like to discuss my family as i believe that there are certain things in your life on which only you possess a right.
Avni realised that he won't open up so easily. So she decide to take baby steps towards him.
Avni : so Mr Kapoor ab jab hum dost hain. To kyun na tum at least apne friends ke baare me to bata sakte ho.
Neil : Friends?? Hum. Aur ye kab hua.
Avni : Pichle ek week se maine tumhari itni sewa ki hai. Tumhare hurt left hand ki dekhbhaal. Tumhara roj aakr khaana bnana. Tumhare tantrums bear karna. Ye sab hamari dosti hi hai. Dosti ek undefined unsaid and purest emotion hai. Kehne ki zaroorat nahi hoti hai dosti mein. Its a heart connection.
Neil : may be this is your experience. But i have a different perspective than that of yours. Ms Avni we humans have certain needs. Weather its social or emotional. Aur hum un needs ko poora karne wale insaan ko dost ka naam de dete hain.
And if you're asking about then yes!!! I had a lots of so called friends back at USA. We used to chill out together. Bunk schools. Go college proms. Tours. Helped each other in need. But when the need vanished. Eventually everyone left. But nevermind. I never wanted them to stop.
As these words came out of Neil's mouth Avni was dumbfounded. She felt as if a storm has hit her hard. Her world got destroyed within seconds.
Avni : (stammering) tumhe apna bachpan school college USA life yaad hai.
Food got choked in Neil's throat. He instantly gulped down a glass full of water and looked towards Avni by moving his head in disbelief.
Neil : what do you mean yaad hai. Sabko hota hai. Do i look a amnesia patient to you.
Avni : i... I mean... Sab kuch yaad hai tumhe.
Neil : you OK. why do you expect me not to remember anything.
Avni : but in past one week you never discussed about that.
Neil : because i don't like to.
Avni was now having water welled up in her eyes. She was feeling her body to become extremely hot. Now it was becoming impossible for her to breath the same air as he is.
She stood up with a jerk. Without speaking further she holded her bag and stormed out of the place. Everything happened so quickly that it was hard for Neil to register what happened to her suddenly.
Neil called out her name but she didn't looked back for once. She went near lift. But she was too restless that she couldn't wait for lift. She took stairs. She was just running down lost. She didn't knew where is she going. She wasn't able to see stairs. Skipped one or two falling several time. But she didn't cared. Right now all she wanted is to go away from him.
Neil was bewildered at this sudden action of Avni. Suddenly he heard a beep sound of cell which surely wasn't his. He looked around and found Avni's cell lying on the table.
Ohh shit! She forgot this in hurry. As he picked the phone up although it was locked but lock screen wallpaper grabbed his attention. Avni wAs standing with prakash and shweta. He felt a strong connection with her parents. He traced shweta's smiling face and a lone tear escaped his eyes.
"Aisa kyun hota hai mere saath. Ek baar phir main apna sab kuch pakar bhi kho rahi hoon. Jab bhi mujhe yakeen hone lagta hai ki wo mera Neil hai kuch aisa ho jaata hai ki meri duniya hi bikhar jati hai. Kyun main itni unlucky hun."
Avni was muttering to herself as she was walking on the road with tears in her eyes.
Avni was about to bump into a car that Ali dragged her aside. Avni was looking very lost and tears in her eyes gave Ali a shock. As after Neil went away Avni never cried in front of anyone not even Ali.
Ali : Avni. What's wrong? Tu kahan khoyi hai. Tujhe chot lag jati to.
Avni : (immediately wiped her tears and composed herself) Ali ... Wo ... Wo Neil.
Now Ali realised that they are standing in front of Neil's apartment. He guessed that Avni must have gone there to watch Neils belongings and this raised his anger.
Ali : pagal hai tu.
He hugged her. The hug helped Avni to calm herself.
Avni : ali tu ja mujhe kuch kaam hai. Shaam ko cafe par milte hai. I m ok. Don't worry.
Ali didn't wanted to leave her in such condition but he agreed on Avni's request.
Avni took a cab and went away bidding good bye to him.
But a pair of red eyes were watching them both from far.
Neil came down to return her cell but the scene he witnessed just now made him go mad in anger. He had no idea why is he having this feeling. All he knew he was not at all OK to see both of them together. He tightened his fist and hit it on the wall to divert his attention but it wasn't working at all. His heart was burning and his mind was beyond anger.
Avni reached Ayesha's grave. She sat near it and broke down into tears.
Pichle ek hafte se kitna waqt guzaara hai maine uske saath. Uski har baat ne har baar mujhe ehsaas dilaya ki wo wapaa aa gaya hai. Par kya wo ehsaas jhute the Maa.
Main kya karun maa kuch samajh nahi aa raha. Mera dil kehta hai ki wo Neil hai. Bilkul waise hi aankhen... Unme wohi gussa... Bilkul waise hi muskurana... Mujhe waise hi dekhna ... Aur mera waise hi uski aur khiche chale jaana. Wo Neil hai mere dil ne ye baat usi din accept kar li thi jab maine use pehli baar dekha.
Par maa main mere dimaag ki baato ko ignore nahi kar sakti. Agar wo Neil hai to use Mr Kapoor ki maa ke liye dard kyun mehsoos hua??? ... Use kaise wo bachpan yaad hai jo usne kabhi jiya hi nahi??? ... Use kaise USA ki wo saari baatein yaad hai jo uske saath kabhi hui hi nahi???... Kaise use wo school... Wo college... Kaise maa kaise????...
Aap hi kehti thi na Maa ki dil ke faisle hamesha sahi hote hain. Lekin maine dil ke unhe faislon ko aapki zindagi tabah karte dekha hai.
Shayad galti meri hi thi. Main usme apne Neil ko dhoondne me itna kho gayi ki mujhe sach or jhoot samajh nahi aaya.
Avni cried out her pain today. She has never cried this much not even when she lost Neil.
Par phir bhi Mr Kapoor ke bilkul Neil jaise dikhne ke pichhe ki wazah main jaankar hi rahungi. Shayad wahi mujhe mere Neil tak pahuncha de, decided Avni as she got up.
Now she knew that she need to be more stonger.
Why am i feeling this much bad after seeing them together. We are not even friends. She's just paying my favour back for helping her. I have never felt it before.
I need to clear this mess out of my mind. That girl may do whatever she wants. She may hold his hands... Can hug... And if .. If she wants then she can also kiss...
It was very hard for him even to think about it further.
He squeezed his already hurt hand as this was the only way he knew to relieved his aching heart. But this was no more effective. He continued to feel that pain and agony that he felt after seeing that noodle headed guy with Avni.
Main phir se apne aapko us dard me nahi dhakelna chahta AYNA. Mujhe jaldi hi wapas lautna hoga is duniya se apni duniya me, he said holding a photo frame of a girl in his hands.
