CHAPTER 6
"One thing you should always remember the more vulnerable you make yourself the more you'll be attacked. For the first I let some stranger come this much close to me by breaking the shielding around me. I tried to help her. I took a step towards her leaving the beast inside me behind. But what i got. A hell aching head and this pain in my heart which i hate to eternity.
This wasn't something that should affect me upto this extend. She was just a mad girl who had horrible mood swings and pain in her eyes... What?????? What the hell is wrong with me??? Why am i still thinking about her pain. Why that girl is not ready to leave bloody aching head.
OK. I think i m feeling this much bad because for the very first time i wasn't wrong. I tried to do something good to her. And good deeds always brings you a lot of pain , suffering and a life full of miseries."
These were going on in Neil's mind. He was sitting on the floor of a fully messed room with broken things and glasses littered here and there. He was reminiscing Avni's behavior with a whisky glass in right hand and badly hurt left palm. The blood was dried but the wound was still sour.
Even after making himself clear that Avni is no one to him he must not get too much affected by all that although he had a revenge plan going on in his mind.
That moment when Avni kept hugging him for more than 5 minutes was replaying in front of his eyes. Even being in worst condition that hug curved his lips into a genuine smile. His heart and minds were going in opposite direction. Mind was mad in anger and wanted revenge but heart was hurt and without asking permission it started healing itself by recalling that hug again and again.
On other side Avni's heart and mind were also in war with each other. Her heart was shouting that the person whom she met few hours back is Neil. But mind asked her not get trapped by those eyes which reflected his love for her, that voice which makes her mind numb and that touch which made her loose her control over her body.
"Bas bhot ho gaya wo Neil hai bhi ya nahi yeh to usse milke use janne ke baad hi samajh paungi. But agar wo Neil nahi bhi hai tab bhi jo maine uske saath kiya that was wrong. He was just helping me. He saved my life. And in return what i did. I should meet him." Avni decided and left to meet that stranger who now became a ray of hope in her life.
Avni reached the hotel in which he was residing. She felt like she has been hit hard by a storm when she came to know that he went to airport to return back to Dehradun.
She took a cab to airport. On the way to airport she heard on the radio that the terrorist whom police arrested last night have eloped from jail. Before going they left a message and warned the man who got them arrested that they will find him and will kill him. Avni panicked listening to that. She cannot afford to put him in danger. She asked the driver to drive fast.
"This is the last and final call for Mr Neil Kapoor" . As neil heard this announcement he headed to board the flight back to Dehradun. He was about to step in that someone holded his hand. He turned back to see a teary eyed Avni standing in front of his eyes. She moved her head to sign him not to go as she was it difficult to utter even a single word. Both of them were having a intensed eyelock.
AVNI'S POV
Please phir se mujhe chod kar mat jao. Abhi to main tumhe jee bharke dekha bhi nahi hai . Please just try to understand me once.
NEIL'S POV
Kyu in aanko me aaye aansu mujhe kamzor kar dete hai. Ye ladki kyu mujhe rok rahi hai. Above than that main kyun ruk raha hoon.
The person standing there broke their eyelock, "sir the doors are about to close you need to move in fast" .
Before he could reply Avni tightened her grip in his hands and dragged him out of the airport( same as Neil did during their wedding only role reversal).
Neil was following her cluelessly. Avni brought him out of the airport.
Neil jerked her hand away.
Neil : what the hell you think you are doing.
Tum pagal hone ke saath saath psycho bhi ho kya.
Avni : Aap please ek baar meri baat sun lijiye.
Neil : kyun sunu main tumhari baat. Ho kon tum.
Avni : look i m really sorry for my behavior. I was just too much frightened after that incident. I was too stressed to to understand all that. I know you saved my life. Helped me. And i instead of thanking you i accused you .
Main sach me sharminda hoon. Mujhe aapse aisa behave nahi karna chahiye tha.
Avni said all that in one go and tears were flowing out of her eyes which she brush off like a child. All this while Neil was staring at her face with i don't like you crying wale expressions.
Neil : shhh. Just stop for a sec. I knew you were psycho but you are a chatterbox too. Just stop this melodrama for Gods sake.
Listening these words from him Avni made face like she's going to cry again.
Neil : OK... OK... I accept your apology. Now i have no grudges against you. So just relax and now get out of my sight like we never met each other.
He turned to leave but Avni was still holding his hand.
Avni : Nahi tum kahi nahi jaa sakte.
Neil : what???
Avni : Actually wo terrorist jinko tumne atrest karwaya tha jail se bhaag chuke hai . They want to kill you. Isliye tum apne ghar dehradun nahi jaa sakte. You cannot stay in a hotel as they know you are not a Mumbai Resident they can find you. So you are coming with me. I'll get you to a safe place.
Neil : listen! Maana ki tum bohot overconfident ho but uski bhi ek limit hoti hai . What made you think ki main tumhare saath chalunga.
Avni without letting him speak further pushed him inside the cab and sat herself beside him.
Avni to taxi driver : bhaiya k L society le lena please.
Neil : dekho tum car roko. Mujhe tumhari help ki koi zaroorat nahi hai. I'll manage myself.
Avni : dekhiye aap please zid mat kijiye. Aapki jaan ko khatra hai. Aapne apni life danger me dali. Meri jaan bachayi. To mera bhi to farz bnta hai. Upar se aap yaha ke rehne wale nahi hai. To main bas aapko thank you kar rahi hoon.
Neil wasn't convinced. He stopped the taxi and was about to get out.
Avni : apne liye na sahi apni family ke liye hi ruk jayiye. Agar aapko kuch hua to unhe kis dhukh takleef se guzarna hoga shayad aapko idea bhi nahi hai. ( she said all this holding his hand and looking out of the Window.
Neil was now sitting silently.
Avni took him to the flat where Neil used to reside. She got keys from guard. Avni also thanked God that one day she already moved all his pictures and things in separate room.
As Avni entered the flat holding Neil's hand she started feeling nostalgic.
Neil looking around : what made you think I'll stay here.
Avni : Mr Kapoor i m not asking to stay here your whole life. You'll have stay here only until police arrest them.
Then Avni started to clean the place as it was closed from many months. Neil was just sitting and staring Avni. Avni finished with the cleaning.
Avni : this is the room. This is kitchen if you want to eat something as you cannot go out. And ya this room will be locked . So don't try to peep inside it.
Neil wasn't paying attention to her words he was too busy in admiring her innocence.
Neil : itni hi fikar hai to why don't yoy take me your home.
Avni was at loss of words still she managed to reply.
Avni : my das won't be pleased to see a boy at my place.
Avni took him to Neil's room.
Avni : as you don't have your luggage you can wear these clothes. ( showing him Neil's cupboard.
So you get fresh I'll cook something to eat for you.
She left the room.
She was waiting for him at dining table. As he came out Avni was dumbfounded. She felt as if Neil is walking towards her.
Neil : Ms Avni these clothes are perfect fit for me.
Avni : why won't they be.
Neil : what?
Avni : i mean my friend jisa ye ghar hai had same measurement as you.
Come have food.
"Pehle baar mera bana khana khaoge Neil. Hope you like it" thought Avni.
Neil really enjoyed the meal and praised Avni which brought a 440 watt smile on her face.
Avni : OK now i have to leave will come tomorrow.
Neil : Thanks Avni. You know is place par rehna mere liye mushkil hai par..
Avni : par ab jab tumne apni family ki khatir hi sahi decide kar liya hai to i know you'll manage.
She left smiling towards him.
He went and sat near Window thinking about the girl who showed her all 50 shades within a single day from daring to scared to harsh to sad to caring...
And how is he behaving so different with her. He doesn't forgive this much easily. It was impossible to convince him for something. But she managed him to do that so smoothly. He had no answers in his mind but a smile a genuine smile on his face.
