A red mustang cruised thru the roads. The hands on the wheel kept the car in a steady sixty miles per hour. Power line poles flashed past, the tires sang, the motor hummed; the driver kept on driving regardless of the scene outside the tinted glass of the car windshields. It was like he could drive across the entire continent never seeing farther than the beam of the car's headlight. His mind was so jumbled up with images that he could not forget but he knew he had to complete his mission. He had been assigned to penetrate the arms dealing within high society at Mumbai and for that he needed the assistance of Annanya, yes Annanya Neil Khanna.
He dialed the number...'Ali, pass me to Ananya...'
Ali : How did you...?
Neil : Just pass the call to Ananya.
Ali put the call on mute and informed Avni...
Ali : He is calling you, I could deny you being here.
Ananya knew who he is, without Ali having to explain. Neil just knew how to reach her, it was like he had 6th sense about her. Ananya could tell by the wary look in Ali's eyes that the reason he was speaking to her about it personally was out of concern for her safety.
But Neil could never hurt her. Ananya was confident in that matter. However, Ananya couldn't fathom the breathlessness that stole over her, the tightening in her stomach, was brought about by excitement or fear. Neil would never hurt her but Ananya feared he might seduce her.
Ananya : yes Neil?
Neil : Get ready, we need to go the party. Wear the red dress.
Neil discontinued the call.
Thoughtfully, Ananya went to the Khaana house to dress up for the party. It had to be something big, Neil had sounded so off track. She really hoped everything was well. Neil's face came into Anannya's mind. She knew every line on his handsome face. His every expression. And on Neil, every expression was subtle. He seemed to be carved of granite most of the time. But every so often his black eyes would soften, or his lips would quirk. But as intimidating, as tempting, as his physical beauty was, it was his voice that tempted her the most...The deep groovy voice.
She wished these alien thoughts would just go away but it didn't. Neil made her want things that she never desired before. Things that obsessed her now. He made her ache for soft sheets and faraway lands. Rough hands on her skin... She just hated him for it. She just wished he would make the decision for both. But he never did. He wouldn't
