Questionable Practices

Is child labor okay? We see a 12-14 year old boy with speech difficulties working for Dayaben and her family. I am talking about the kid that Dayaben and Ashish ordered to get more rotis from the kitchen.

Perhaps from the kid's perspective he is way better off in Dayaben's house than being on the street penniless. Nevertheless, he has a right to education and what Dayaben and her son's are perpetrating is 'child labor'.

TV serials are watched by many in urban and rural areas - should they show support for child labor? - I wonder.

Then there was the scene of Dayaben refusing to give a job to qualified economically challenged person who desperately needs the job just because of his religion! What religion? Hinduism does not support shutting the door in this fashion on another soul - for it believes that all are made in the image of God. If Dayaben is dogmatic then she need let him touch her food or enter her house - but she can still work as a driver or find him another job elsewhere. She could maintain her belief in dogma but be kind = why be cruel? Which religion supports unkindness and cruel behavior?

For me both of the above practices should be shown on TV from an social -education perspective otherwise TV walas should refrain from doing so!
