I can see why they did the two sets of faces thing for reasons other than TRPs - to make it obvious that these chars are not actually the same as their past selves. Veer is a much more evolved version of Aakesh, who though he pursued Bani (initially in the same stalkery manner), he also grew and gave her the respect that I personally feel Aakesh didn't. Veer's obsession actually felt like love. And Bani is not Naageshwari - far more hot-headed and vengeful, at least in the early days. Hriday/Jai is clearly a complete 180 (as far we have seen). So I can see from that perspective why they chose to have diff actors play the chars, but on a personal level I would have preferred SM-SC-MS as the Satyug trio as well.

MS actually confused me. See, i watched MJHT and actually cheered for Samraat as a character and Samraat-Gunjan (It was like a yayyy when these two got together in real) and I dont recall ever thinking he was an unimpressive actor. So I was legit confused as to why his acting was this ...umm, monotonous here. He has improved a lot in recent times.

Wondering if its a director thing here too. Even in season 3, I felt like Surbhi Jyoti had the capability and could have done so much better in some scenes but fell short. Same with most of the other actors apart from Anita, she did excellent. I am of the opinion that a director also a huge impact on acting. An excellent director can manage to elevate even mediocre acting and bring a dull written scene to life visually. Ranjan is great, no doubt, but perhaps he could up in that department. This might be a different opinion but I am really not much aware of his body of work to be sure if this is really it.

@Bold Nono, Hina said it was NOT a cameo, even in an interview.

@Red Word on everything. They obviously do not have the time anymore to dwell on the differences of these characters in Satyug vs Kalyug. But I do think they all all a changed. I had assumed Hriday was always negative, now we'll never know. Naageshwari toh had minor changes. Aakesh was the interesting development. He was just obsessed. Period. We couldnt draw his parallels with love until Veer came alone. Until I saw VaNi in one frame, I was of the opinion that it was going to be a milan of the Naag-Naagin again aka Bani-Jay 🤢. Veer's character was a more... sophisticated, sharpened version of Aakesh. Now, we don't know how Aakesh would have turned out going forward since Veer frew from earlier too. But even having just Veer gave so much depth tk Aakesh's character too.

P.S. please excuse my typos, I realized I make tonsss of them and cant be bothered to fix them 😆

I think they shot a dance together but that’s it. Also i never knew in their first scene that they met it was shot with BD. When I found that out I was shocked!

I agree...story has its place ofc, but for me if I don't connect with the couple/chars then no amount of excellent storytelling can keep me invested for long. I might watch, but it won't live with me forever.

Whereas I'll remember the crappiest of shows with the worst storytelling as long as there is a jodi that I loved and kept me invested.

That's why Huma, Nikki and I go on about those old K shows which lbr weren't Pulitzer-winning writing 😆 but what we remember is Sujal-Kashish or PRB or Jai-Bani, or Oliver-Felicity or Vani etc.
