By the way, poore time dialogues mujhe Dev aur Vidhi ki awaaz mein sunai de rahe thhe. I can totally imagine them saying all that's written here.

Time lagta hai likhne mein. I completely understand. Mujhe itta chotu sa likhne ke liye 2 din Lage.

Welcome to this last and longest installment of this crazy ride of ViDev's journey of realizing what they want from this relationship that too after 8 months of being together.

And this is my longest single part of any FF/OS/SS i hav ever wrote and i really hope ill be able to do the justice with these 2 most beautiful characters of recent times. I might have taken too much creative liberty to end the story the way i wanted (thats my most fav part of one of my most fav show but never had characters to rewrite it).....

And if by any chance you feel it lack the intensity or impact or authenticity .. please forgive me i am no pro just a an obsessed fan who wants to retell stories of my beloved character.

And yes its gonna be a long ride.. so wanna get some coffee, tea, hot chocolate or popcorn.. get them now.. beech me shayad jane ka man na kare.

So ladies please fasten your seat belts as we start this turbulent ride of ViDev's love story of figuring what they want from this relationship.

Vidhi... Vidhi... Dev calls her name as he taps on her shoulder to ask what's wrong.

This brings her to present, hesitating, fumbling Vidhi stands before him and asks

Sir aap yaha... aap to meeting ke liye gaye the na.

Dev was more worried about the state she was in than the question she asked. He just brushed it off saying haan wo ho khatam ho gayi thi jaldi to bacho se milne aa gaya yaha.

A...au.. aur.. tu.. tum.. tum yaha kya kar rahi ho.. itni barish me yaha bahar kyu ?

Aa…acha.. chhodo pahle andar chalo nahi to aur bheeg jaogi.

while saying so he extends his right hand with an umbrella and signals her to come in. unwillingly Vidhi joins this Adventure of 50 steps.

Dev wanted to be sure she doesn't get more wet so he adjusted his right arm in such a way that she doesn't get more rain on her and at same time his shoulder doesn't brush her. This makes him get wet on the sides but he ignores this. Vidhi looks at his uncomfortable walk while maintaining the distance and she just rolls her eyes, this wasn't something new for her.

All those 50 steps were not that easy for either of them

For him - as he wasn't ever this close to her esp in such a vulnerable rainy season, he has avoided it so many times in past, but today seeing her sitting in rain he just rushed without thinking it through. And now the consequences are “sigh”. The smell of her shampoo was enough for his willpower to waver but he took a big sigh again and tried to divert his mind by asking her questions about her day.

For her - she replied reluctantly to his answers as still trying to calm her heart down.. thinking just how close Dev sir is. She was thanking rain that helped her share an Umbrella walk with him which was cancelled many times in past (obviously by him) as he used to say

“ek chhate me dono bheeg jayenga kya fayda ek chhate ka.. Ye lo main 2 rakhta hu”

And it was the longest walk for them.

As soon as they reach the corridor Dev closes the umbrella, steps back immediately and asks Vidhi to come to his mom's room as he might have spare dress for her to change, Vidhi follows him without saying anything.

Once in the room Dev looks around and makes sure the cake and other surprise elements are still hidden as he left them before leaving. He searches into his mom's closet and among all her heavy banarasi saris he finds one baby pink sari, which he bought a few years back for one of his best friend's wife but couldn't give for some reasons.

As soon as he spots that pink saree all he imagined was Vidhi.. how gorgeous she would look into this.. "Oh come on Dev" he shrugs his head and continues "aaj ho kya gaya hai yaar tujhe. yaad nahi hai tune Vidhi ko haan bolte time kitna bada promise kiya tha khud se"

he bits his lip "haan haan yaad hai".

Vidhi is still dejected and staring at the floor with no zeal or energy she used to ooze being around Dev. She used to become a butterfly who knows only to spread her colours.. but today her own life seems colourless.

Dev has to again tap her shoulder cause she wasn't even listening to him, gives her the sari and shows her the washroom. Vidhi doesn't even bother to look at what he gave.. doesn't look at him, takes the sari and goes to the washroom.

Vidhi changes into that Beautiful sari.. looks at herself in mirror and first time in last 2 days she had this tiny smile on her face thinking

"Dev sir ne kitna acha colour choose kiya hai na mere liye, itne bhi rukhe nahi hai wo. Chalo unhone socha to hoga ke ye colour mujhe pe kitna acha lagega tabhi di na" while combing her hair she thought all this in one breath.

She was so happy seeing herself in the mirror, she never found herself this beautiful before maybe it was his love. And all she wanted was to rush to him to see her image through his eyes full of hearts just for her. She just loves how her Dev sir looks at her with so much love in his eyes. Those eyes make her knees go weak every single time.

But today she doesn't even know what to feel about all the love he had shown so far.. she was confused for sure but next moment she has a determined face. She plans to clarify things today but not with words for sure. He is so good at dodging her words so she decides to take some action.

She looks determined and happy as she comes out of the washroom.

The door knob clicks and informs Dev that she has come.

Dev turns his face to her

Vi....................Vi .... Vidhi.............

It took him a few blinks, a couple of gulps and 1 big sigh before calling her by her full name.. she was looking astonishingly beautiful. As if she was the only thing he needed to feel alive at this moment.. he stood up, went to her, cupped her face and went for their first Kiss...

Dev.. you are gone mad. Still sitting on the couch he turns his head away from her while scolding his heart to dare to dream something so insane. I told you right.. I won't be overstepping my limits until she allows.

On other hand Vidhi is heart broken.. she was dreaming about him at least giving her a big wide hug if not more for looking like a lady for the first time.. abhi tak to main hamesha office ki employee hi lagti thi. But his reaction as if I am someone doesn't even deserve a second look. Few seconds back she was about to let go of how he forgot her B’day but now this... it was getting difficult for her to bear. She wanted to leave but for sure not before executing her plan.

.

Dev (still looking at the cake) asks Vidhi to come and cut the cake. He had planned a great surprise with her eyes closed, then he would bring the cake to her to blow out the candles... but having Vidhi like a dreamy affair in front of him had his brain shut completely. All he was doing was praying to god to not to test this patience further as he had been controlling his crazy thoughts for more than an hour now.

Vidhi sits next to him, he gives her the bouquet with a brief eye lock which he breaks immediately.. asks her to blow the candles.. she does it all.. he sings bday song, takes a small piece of cake, feeds her and she feeds him too...but this wasn't as soulful as last time they cut the cake together in the office at least to Vidhi. While Dev wants to end his test and come out of that room which is so full of Vidhi and her enticing fragrance.

Dev changes his focus and starts cutting the cake into perfect squares of 1 inch

On other hand Vidhi is staring at him being so engrossed in cutting the cake as if that's his mission for today.

while it was Dev's way of anchoring his thoughts, of keeping his crazy dreams at bay. He doesn't want to over step that invisible line he created 8 months back when he confessed his love for Vidhi. And while he is busy cutting the cake he is still able to recall in what circumstances he had to say yes to her.

He always wanted to have Vidhi in his life because it was so difficult for him to live without her. And by the time he confessed she had become the air he wanted to breathe.. her company was the only thing he needed in life.. but at same time he thought she wasn't mature enough to know what kind of love we were getting into, he was in perception that as 21 yo young girl love for her would be spending good time together, to get pampered, to feel safe and secure with ur loved one.. and he was giving it all to her and he never wanted anything in return from her but her togetherness.

He was happy for having her in life but next thought made him shudder in fear

Par abhi to wo nadan hai.. kya pata thode saalo baad she meets someone else and her definition of love changes too..??

Being the Dev he is.. He continues

So what ? she shouldn't regret her time with me. She shouldn't feel I used her in any way. I love her for what she is.. and ill love her all my life but if she wants to leave me in future i'll let her go. Her happiness matters to me the most with me or without me.

He was proud of his perfect plan to shower his kind of Love on her.

But on the other hand it is Vidhi whose patience is being tested. And she is getting restless by each passing second as Dev is paying more attention to the cake than to her sitting right beside him.

She finally decides IT to be the moment of action, as she doesn't want to give up without trying at least once. She even imagined the worst outcome as Dev might not see her again in life but not having him with her is also not helping her heart. She always felt Dev was beside her but never with her. And this time she wants to be greedy for having him more than just on her side.

She leans in..

Dev could feel her proximity.. He blinks, gulps, sighs but doesn't dare to look at her, knowing it could end up in an accident he wanted to prevent for so long.

Vidhi comes closer…. Pecks him on the cheek

That leaves Dev STUNNED

his heart is on overdrive, brain shut off, while mind is blank…

Vidhi "I Love You Dev"

This time Cake piece in his left hand has been crushed to death with the force he closed his fist.

He has heard her saying “I love you Dev sir” many times in the past but this wasn't the same. And everytime she used to address him as Dev Sir he just adds few more strokes to it.. but today this girl herself rubbed that line off completely and he had no idea what he would do if turns his face now.

But there was something so palpable in that moment that he couldn't resist further and thought she loves me.. Not like another 21 yo girl I always thought she would be, She really loves me.

With just this one thought he turns his face towards her..

Her doe shaped brown eyes looking straight at him with so much determination and pleading.

His helpless eyes looks down at her lips then back at her eyes

I am sorry Vidhi.. but what's going to happen is your responsibility.

saying so he cups her tiny face with his palms and goes in for the kiss he had imagined 100 times in his dreams already.

Vidhi had her eyes closed as she wanted to embrace this moment.. the moment she was waiting for ages may be but never had the courage to go this close to the love of her life.

Dev still maintains his calm and breaks the kiss soon while she still remains hungry for more.. he pecks her lips and assures her "I love you too Vidhi"

On realizing what just happened Vidhi hides herself in his chest out of embarrassment while he encircles his arms around her with a big sigh of relief.

Finally,

He Kisses her head

Thank you for coming into my life... Vidhi. Thank you for coming into this world for me. Happy Birthday My Girl

And she snuggles more into her favorite place, his Arms.
