The judges have been harsh on KK thus far because of which he has to still struggle for survival. Is baar toh dil khol ke KK ko 10 de dijiye. He definitely deserves it. Chaliye humne apni baat kehdi aage aap ki marzi.

ye kaali kaali aankhen,
ye gore gore gaal,
Deke 10 KK ko,
Aaj kar do tum Kamaal

Mujhe bhi aise lag raha tha - KK's AWESOME emotion deserves 10/10. But in terms of sur, the song was not very difficult. So there's a tradeoff there. As I say, in case of a Shankar-KK tie, I will request my scores to be changed.

But after listening to Uditji's 'Ae Ajnabi', I think 9/10 is a very fair score for Awaarapan. Uditji ke gaane mein feel bhi thi, sur bhi tha, aur dil mein goonjne waali awaaz bhi thi - agar maine 'Awaarapan' jaise gaane ko ten points de diye, toh main 'Ae Ajnabi' jaise gaane ko kya doonga? Fifteen, twenty? 😆

Wow! this thread is fast becoming Uditji's appreciation thread. So, to get over the disappointment of Annuji neglecting my advice and giving KK 9, i will post this gem from Udit ji

Good performance by K.K. But nothing special.

I mean overall, he shows his versatility as a singer. However, we are grading just this performance. And as someone999 said, these are not his kind of songs. someone999 still gave points for the effort of taking the risk to go outside your forte, but as Himeshji says,I think you should stick to your forte and strengths in competitions such as this. This I'm not giving any sympathy for trying something new. This is not KK's thing.

In the song, he sang in the same tone throughout, with very little variation, there was some, but not much. So not looking at what he is good at, I was stuck between a 6 and 7. But he did put some soul into it, so I'll give it a 7.

Rating: 7/10

😆

Is this allowed?

In case it is....if there is ANOTHER tie between Shankar and K.K., then I would request my score for Shankar be changed to 9.5, and K.K. to 6.5.

Shankarji toh Hindustan ki naak hai!

And he is a better singer than K.K. There I said it.

And one more thing. I've been requesting songs for Shankar Mahadevan (since it seems no one else is according to risingabove).

And let me just say, K.K. is lucky we didn't choose the best of Shankar Mahadevan, or K.K. would've been finished 1-2 rounds ago no matter what songs K.K. chose to sing. Shankar Mahadevan is the better singer and deserves to move on!

I've PM'd risingabove to ask if its possible - although I don't have high hopes for my plea hehe.

As for KK's forte - that's the beauty of his voice, he is very versatile, a lot like Sunidhi Chauhan for males really. He can handle most genres other than classical coz, like Sunidhi, he isn't classically trained. But he has a vareity of influences, which can be seen when he sings romantic songs, or soft rock (as he's been doing more recently) or the high pitch and harkat-ful stuff he started out with (think Tadap Tadap).

You can probably call him the male version of Sunidhi Chauhan, and Sonu the male version of Shreya, and Uditji the male version of Alka! (wow I'm impressed with how well that analogy panned out 😆)

In fact, I would go as far as to say that sad songs are in fact one KK's fortes and this soulful performances just convinces me of that. I'm sorry the performance didn't move you as much as it moved me, but that's why we have a broad spectrum of judges I think. The soul and emotion is the biggest selling point of this song - and if it doesnt touch your soul, then I don't expect you to find much appealing in it, so 7 is fair enough.

But to the audience, I'd just like to say that if this performance moved you then please give this awesome singer the credit he deserves by giving him nines and tens! 👏

hey Saq123, can you stop making fake accounts and using them to vote by giving Shankar low scores and K.K. high scores?

Thanks!

He sang in the same tone with little variation all throughout the song.

And I would not call K.K. the male version of Sunidhi Chauhan. That would be Sukhwinder Singh. Have you seen Sukhwinder and Sunidhi sing a duet together? 👏 Wow how well they compliment each other.

LOOL you know there are many Shankar haters on this forum - they're more likely than saq to be responsible for the low scores for Shankarji 😆

Nah man - KK is definitely the male version of Sunidhi! Sukhi doesn't have half the versatility of these two. Another point on which we'll have to agree to disagree I guess...

It's not just that. It's just everytime there is a low score, there is a perfect score for K.K. Now you calling that coincidental too?

All I have to say is listen to a song by Sunidhi and Sukhwinder. They compliment each other so well, because their singing "styles" are the same.
