If only I knew could understand punjabi and sindhi! baba bulleh shah ki saari kaafiyan samajh paata!
but the biggest strength of sufiana kalaam is that the power of music can make u experience 'rang', even if you dont fully understand the words, right?!
but i try to get translations for most of the punjabi/sindhi songs i like so that i can get the full experience and meaning of the kalaam.
hmmm...the poem actually is not exactly punjabi...its sufiana punjabi...even i can not understand it fully...but some lines which i could understand are beautifully written...like the first 4 lines i can translate roughly...
Mere nak vich nathani te tan ute ghaghari - Naak mein tere nathni aur uske upar dupatta
Te kanna cha pa deyo dandiya - Kaan mein daal dandiya (i think by saying dandiya he is signifying jhumkas, not sure though)
Bulle Shah Mai yaar manana - Bulle Shan maine apne yaar(lover) ko manana hain
Paahve log udaave bhandiyan - Chahe log mera mazaak udaye (Bhandiya is a type of dance, so that probably is signifying that people are making fun of him)
Eeewww...this seems to be a horrific translation...its quite difficult...sorry bulleh shah saab...i know it was a bad attempt...
😳
