After a long wait, Himesh Reshammiya [Images] seems to have found his heroine for Karzzzz.

Jennifer Kotwal is the most likely choice to play Tina Munim's role from the Subhash Ghai [Images] 1980 hit.

Incidentally, Jennifer had a tiny appearance in Ghai's Yaadein [Images] earlier. Later, she made a spectacular debut in the Kannada superhit, Jogi, and became one of the hottest heroines down South.

Apparently, Gullu learnt from reliable sources that it was on Ghai's recommendation that Himesh roped in Jeniffer for Karzzzz. The filmmaker, it seems, wanted to resurrect her Bollywood career.

Karzzz will be Himesh's first film to hit the screens next year.

Himesh not to essay a double role in KARZZZ!

It is by now well known that composer-singer, and now successful actor, Himesh Reshammiya, is all set to act in his second film, KARZZZ, an official remake of Subhash Ghai's reincarnation classic, KARZ (1980).

Coming back to Himesh Reshammiya's second acting assignment, after his hit debut in AAP KAA SURROOR- THE MOVIEE (2007), contrary to media reports, Himesh will not essay a double role in KARZZZ. In fact, there will be a different actor for the first birth, and Himesh will play the reincarnation portion/part of that actor.

Hopefully, that should lay to rest all speculations on the subject!

CINEMA: Bollywood's leading lights are charging the moon in the new year.

The Indian entertainment industry saw a lot of hits and misses in 2007. What it also saw was the rise and fall and the eventual settling down of the fee that the top film stars are now charging per project.

One of the biggest stars to emerge in 2007 was singer-turned-actor Himesh Reshammiya in Aap Ka Surroor.

Reshammiya is now looking forward to the release of his next film, Karzzz (a remake of Subhash Ghai's superhit Rishi Kapoor starrer). The film has been directed by Satish Kaushik. Reshammiya charges Rs 5-6 crore for every film that he signs.

There are little doubts that the man with the cap won't hit gold with this one! One cannot ideally go wrong with the soundtrack for a film that boasts of a musical theme, has been adored for more than two decades and gives the actor/composer/singer a platform to go all out in creating and recreating the tunes. With backing of a willing music company which also produces the film, Karzzzz has all in it to bring together the off-screen and on-screen persona of Himesh Reshammiya and get an entertaining musical score running for the man's target audience. Chalo ek baar phir ho jaaye - 'Ek Haseena Thi'!

Himesh Reshammiya will perform at the silver jubilee function of his son's school next week — free of cost


Himesh Reshammiya never steps out in public with his son Swayam and wife Komal. The only time he ever spoke about them was on Koffee With Karan. But the composer-turned-singer and lately actor, will now break his self-imposed rule of keeping his family under wraps.

The Aap Kaa Surroor star will not only be seen in public with his family but will also perform in their presence at the We Are The Future concert. This show, to be held at the Andheri Sports Complex on January 12, is part of the silver jubilee celebrations of Utpal Sanghvi School, Juhu Scheme — where his son studies.

Chartbusters all

Himesh is slated to do a 45-minute medley of his 50 hit tracks at the show which will be attended by the students, staff, their families and several other guests specially invited by the school. Some of the students will also get jiggy with him on stage.

It is reliably learnt that Himesh is performing for free. Normally, he asks for the moon (well, almost!) to render a performance at such shows considering the huge venue and an equally big turnout.

Himesh admits, "I am doing this show for the love of kids and my relationship with the school's trustees Jayesh Choksi and Chetan Sanghvi and principal Abha Dharampal. It will be great performing with these kids who have been instrumental in my success. They have given me so much love from the time I gave my first hit Aashiq Banaya Aapne. I really donn't have words to express what I am feeling. It's only their smiles that I want to see."

Grand event

Adds Harish Choksi, honorary treasurer, Utpal Sanghvi School, "As it is the 25th anniversary, we have planned something grand. We have a lot of celebrity parents as well as celebrity ex-students in the entertainment world who have all come forward to make this occasion an event to remember."

Apart from Himesh, there will also be performances by Abhijeet and Anand Raj Anand whose children also study in the school. The celeb ex-students performing include anchor Aditya Narayan and Parthiv Gohil (Saawariya singer) among several others.
