I'm sharing this song that is now recognized by the LGBTQ+ community as an anthem. Apparently, during WW2 when gay acts were still illegal, an underground slang for gay people that was widely used was 'Friend of Dorothy' and I also read that the Investigators began a search for 'Dorothy' hoping she would reveal the names and identities of gay people!

I also came across this article that speculates the origins of the Rainbow as the symbol for gay rights stating that the originator, Gilbert Baker may have chosen it as a tribute to Judy Garland.
