Is this the right thread to discuss (with pictures and videos of course) “pride” events such as the following, billed as wholesome fun for the entire family by the organizers?

- a fleet of nude male cyclists, whose genitalia was on full display to attendees, including families with children at Seattle pride parade over the weekend

- naked bike riders washing off at a fountain in Washington town where children were among those playing in the water.

- lewd behavior and graphic depictions of sex acts in the presence of children

- Pride marchers in Minnesota dressed in underwear twerking in front of children

- a nearly nude man choked and whipped by another man in bondage gear in West Hollywood pride march

- Pride marchers chanting “we are coming for your children” in New York city

This might be perfectly OK to some of the westerners here but how many Indians on these forums would want to welcome this “culture“ in India? Asking because I believe I am posting on India Forums.

Are you offended by naked sādhus, Digambara Jain monks, nude paintings and sculptures too? Those are Indian traditions of public self-expression. Our ancestors accepted sexual activity and erotic appeal as facts of life that everyone understood.

I haven't come across evidence that children were excluded or shielded from sex acts/talk in ancient India.

Some cities have decriminalized public nudity. Some people celebrate pride without censoring their sexuality. We don't all agree with everything that others express or display, but in spite of that, Pride paraders share a belief in basic human dignity and civil rights.

Those of us who are responsible for children's safety, I hope, understand the difference between innocence and ignorance. When children are exposed to something that disturbs them, that's an opportunity to answer their questions honestly.
