CHICAGO: Himesh Reshamia came, Himesh Reshamia performed and Himesh Reshamia won the hearts of many a Chicagoans, including that of Ali Asgar, a 22 years old young man afflicted by cerebral palsy.

Cerebral palsy is a disorder reflecting brain damage that results in muscular impairment, speech and learning disability. It has no known cure so far. Ali has been suffering from this disease since his birth and had little liking for music or any other form of entertainment.

To the surprise of Ali's parents- Farida and Badri Ali Godhrawala- the young man began showing some interest in songs and music by Himesh aired on Indian TV channels. Says Badri Ali that "it was a pleasant surprise to us to see that Ali would come to the living room when Himesh would be on TV rendering his songs in his sonorous voice. The moment the song gets over, Ali would make his exit from the room and be all alone again. Himesh music somehow or other fascinated him and would want some of the songs played again and again in the car or at our home."

When it was announced that Himesh would come to Chicago and perform at UIC Pavilion, Ali's parents decided to take him to the performance and watch his reactions while the show is on. They also harbored a secret desire that Himesh would find time to meet Ali, his surprise fan. They also wanted to thank Himesh that his songs have touched a subtle cord in Ali's mind that made him seek some interest and some pleasure in the music.

It was a dream come true for Badri Ali and Farida when Himesh before entering the stage found a few minutes to talk to Ali and shake hands with him. For Himesh, it was also a moment of joy to know that his music could bring some happiness into the life of a person who otherwise has little to enjoy himself with.

Aap Ka Surrur, the Himesh Reshmia performance with his top notch artists from India, was organized by Video Vision and Sahil in Chicago. Nick Patel, Babu Patel, Mayur Patel and Bhavesh Patel were the Chicago organizers of the show and they need to be complimented not only for bringing Himesh to Chicago, but also for arranging a meet between Ali and Himesh.

Badi sis - I am thinking we should start w/member of the week first - we can choose members from our regular posters & go in that order - each member will be member of the week for a whole week & then other members can ask them questions relating to Himeshji or just general ones - what do u all think?
