Ok well - out of the recorders above, I play the Alto. Some of my friends use to play the bigger ones too! - The sound is much deeper in those. With the keyboards, there is not much difference according to the make - they just have diff functions.
Thanks, Jem! Great answers! I like Christopher norton too, btw. π³ - haila tu wapas agayi? & I was v.nice to you & only asked 2 questions π
some more questions... π
1) What/whom do you prefer over the other and WHY:
Ear Training or Sight reading? - I've never had Ear training (do you mean playing by ear or aural?) I have only ever had Sight reading - which as you know - mostly all musicians hate π but it does help one a lot.
J. S. Bach or C. P. E. Bach? - C.P.E Bach
W. A. Mozart or C. Norton? - C.Norton any day!π³
Thumri or Rock? - pls explain Thumri π³
Largo or Allegro? - Allegro
Piano or Forte? - Forte π
2) Any intention of learning the "pungi" (as it is called by Loha ji) and teaching it in the future? π - haha no π
3) What kind of pieces do you enjoy playing in general - Fast, upbeat pieces or Slower, more emotional ones? - well I basically go for anything which has a v.strong melody
4) Do you play any hindi songs? - yes only 2 Which ones can you play? - I can play Kal Ho Naa Ho title song - the whole thing - I wrote the music to it as I went along - sorry SEL π& Pardesi Pardesi from Raja Hindustani - both worked out by playing by ear π³ Do you play them with sheet music or by ear? - by ear.
5) Can you now listen to any piece and immediately identify the key it is in? - Well I am trying to improve myself in this - I think Ahista Ahista is in D major as I worked out the beginning of it on the piano & it has an F# & C# which are in D major key signatures - but thats about it - coz Himeshji's music is extremely difficult for anybody to play (I can't even work out the beginning chords of surroor yet!) by ear - thats his talent π³
6) You mentioned an Aural component of ur piano exam. What is that exactly? Does it consist of things like singing intervals, etc? Aural is where the examiner will give you a set of tests on the spot. One will be where you have to sing a scale in pitch (matlab in sur) & then other where you have to decide if the rhthym of a piece is in 2/3/4 beats in a bar & thirdly, what dynamics have been used & where they have changed.

rmb me nah? - ji haanπ
now to grill u.
- what exactly abt himesh do u love soo much? - Im only relating this question to music here π³ - well his melodies are what appeal to me the most about his music - Ahista Ahista is an extremely complex melody & I doubt any other song by any other composer will ever be able to match it!
- apart from himesh any other music director/singer u like? - well in short, no π³ of course w/the exception of the greats such as ARR, SD & RD, LP & SJ although I do appreciate music by Vishal Bhardwaj's music for Omkara - I think Beedi is a rocking song as is O Saathi Re.
- We hear u play the piano, ur fav piece? - I don't really have one, as over 7 years I have played & loved many.
- The most challenging piece u've played on the piano? - My current piece by Brian Bonsor
- Fav genre of music? - on piano? Jazz piano
- if u had to choose a career in the music industry it would me....? ( a singer, music director, piano player...) - a piano player for Himeshji π³
- Among the 3 instruments u play, which one do u like the most and y? I love them all but piano the most as it is now my main instrument.
- Recorder, Keyboard and then Piano..a progression i have made as well from primary school to secondary school days. Is this progression one you would recommend to those who want to learn music and if so why? - I can't really say - it all depends on the individual - music cannot be forced upon anyone. - I strongly believe this.
- Any other instruments u would like to play? - the harmonium & sitar
- People good in music are good in maths and vice versa if what we hear. How true is this with u? and why do u think this is so? haha this is not true w/me π
- Your fav period in terms of the music history. - Classical
- Mozart or Beethovan and y? - Beethoven - coz of Fur Elise π³
- Music soothes the savage beast. Is this true? have u ever tried to sooth someone with ur music and has it worked? π π - π ask my piano teacher π
ok thats all for now.. have fun answering di. π€ - welcome π€
love
