Anmol i agree with sonali here . There was something inherently humane about Vaibhav right from the beginning . Sabina proved to be only the catalyst that tapped it . When the little poor boy asked him if he was going to take away their homes ...he melted due to that innate humanity in him . Sabina was not around . Sure , she acted as a great catalyst , but thats it . Look at it this way . If Sabina had been dealing with IMV , not Vaibhav ...and had spent same amount of time with him ...exactly those many meetings as many she had with Vaibhav , taken him around a tour of the jhopdis , given him speeches on humanity ...wud IMV have melted ???? IMV wud never have budged . The catalyst wud have NOT worked there .Why ? IMV is inherently different . When the chemical solution is not appropriate , catalyst cannot work .
Where did Vaibhav get the seeds of inherent humanity and compassion? From Charulata . See her compassion and humanity ...so rich , but living the life of a detached yogini , filled with compassion towards those old people for whom she builds those aged homes . Vaibhav has those genes in him . Her genes .
From IMV he gets the sharp business sense and hence he comes up with ploys to placate all parties and yet strike the optimum deal . Like how he arranged for Devki's finances so she wud get that project , and be busy in it so she wud not be an adversary to Vaibhav group for a long time to come .
But he did not inherit IMV's ruthlessness . He has inherited his grandfather's intelligence though . The way Motilal Master figured out how to solve Manhar's problem . By getting him suspended for the time being so that he gets bail . Same way Vaibhav had decided to keep Devki busy so he and Dad cud focus on other projects.
And so , for me , in current scenario , Vaibhav is the perfect blend. He is ideal but does not engage in idealism himself ...paradoxically , he is realistic . He is NOT the idealist . Devki is .
