I will share with you amigos some of my thoughts about why I think the show is not picking up. Some might be totally way off the mark but I feel its ok to be wrong amongst friends.

1. Gauri is not a 'bechari' character. She has a loving BF, great parents and is in no imminent danger. The real victim is Prateeksha but since she is not the protagonist. Our sympathies miss the mark.

2. I hate to say this. I am not a North Indian and belong to a part of India with a very strong cultural ethos and respect people of all parts of India. I love to watch the splendour of Maharashtrian culture. But is it necessary to have such a generous sprinkling of Marathi dialogues. Are the Cvs putting off people of other ethnicity. ?

3. Too many mysteries with no solution in sight.

Nice Mili... I agree about the Marati.. I grew up in Mumbai, so can understand it, but I guess for most people it would be tough.

i agree. i'm not a Maharashtrian either in fact i'm a gujju, i can understand the dialogues roughly sometimes but sometimes i just can't. i mean, i love the Maharashtrian culture shown and the language, i'm actually keen on learning a few marathi sentances after watching the show but as a viewer it sort of leaves me out not knowing what they're on about half of the time.
like everyone is saying the show has everything but they need to push it in the right direction and make it just as powerful and engaging as the promos were.
