Mrs. Tendulkar - About the Show & Character Sketch

Suhaas Tendulkar is a true charmer. He is like young Faroukh Sheikh, an ideal son in law for all the mothers. His smile wins people. Suhaas's approach to life, is very positive.

He is husband of Vibhavari. Working as anonymous writer; when they shift to the colony everyone starts thinking that he is branch manager. When they come to know that he is a house husband, they are stunned with the situation and are clueless about how to handle it.

Vibhavari Tendulkar wife of Mr. Suhas Tendulkar.

She is aware what her husband has done for her so all her attempts are to justify his stand and make him proud besides excelling.

Vibhavari is sent to the Baburao Apte Bank at this branch on the post of Manager. This is the only branch, which is performing really badly.

She is Suhaas's backbone.

At home, Vibhavari is caring wife and loving mother. Till now her role reversal with Suhaas was working perfect.

He is superstitious as he strongly believes in numerology.

He starts his calculation on every possible thing.

Mr. Ramdas Pagare is the senior most member of the bank staff. He is a self-declared leader of the group.

He is the one who is completely into dramatics and theatre.

Middle class person that wears Kurta paijama to show the world his loyalty to theatre. He carries an old Shabnam bag that has Misry, Laung, Ilaaychee and Paan ki chanchee in it.

Mr. Ramdas always maintains a husky voice when talking for impact and impression.

He is a man who believes in the system of a "male dominated world"

Mrs. Pagare is the boss of Pagare household. She is a dominant wife, in control mother and a self-imposing, daunting neighbor.

Kamaltai was also the former president of Superwoman Mukti mandal, Dindoshi Branch so her claim of becoming president of is natural.

She is a very traditional woman. Because of her persistence, the whole colony celebrates all the festivals in a very traditional manner.

She considers Suhaas Tendulkar's gradual popularity as a huge threat but becomes his great friend in future.

Mr. Upasani is the cashier in Baburao Apte Sahakari Bank. A man in his mid 40's, typical middle class common man's image.

He is known to be a pathetic cashier as the tally towards the end of the day is always wrong by 50 –100 Rs. He always borrows money from fellow colleagues and doesn't tend to return it.

He also has a very peculiar habit of licking finger before starting any sort of work. This can create hilarious situations when it comes to domestic work…like helping wife counting chapattis or going to the sports section of the newspapers etc

Mrs. Rupali Upasani is a victim of habits of her husband. Her fellow mates in colony often taunt her for her hubby's habits.

Rupali who runs a beauty parlour business, has to give facilities to the fellow colony ladies in return of the money borrowed by her husband.

Rupali and Mrs. Urmila Trivedi share a great chemistry as Rupali is always confused about things and has too many questions to ask. The one who always answers to her is Urmila.

The Gujrati employee of the bank.He and Pagare always have a cold war but are by each other in crisis.

She is a quick eyed observant woman who shouts as she speaks and salivates a lot.

She has a heavy metal voice that can talk long distance without a telephone.

She is emphatic and bangs her hand to make a point, invariably hitting someone and always gives referential examples for everything.

Virendra Patekar is the youngest of the lot. He did some good amount of theatre at the college level. Virendra Patekar and Mrs patekar are perfectly ad family couple.

Renuka is a relatively new entrant in the colony. She always support her husband in terms they have to be perfect.

She always poke her nose in other's business but its really sweet and cute at a times.

Prasad is Kamal Tai & Ramdas Pagare's son.

Prasad is in love with Madhuri who he claims to be his childhood sweetheart but is scared to declare it to his mother.

Being scared of the world they both decide to run away from home.

Mayuri is Umesh trivedi's sister and is in love with Prasad Pagare.A typical filmy romantically involved couple.

Ghanshyam followed into his father's footsteps to become the second generation peon in Baburao Apte Sahakari Bank.

Ghanshyam, like most of the other peons does extra work against specific incentives.

To hide other's secrets and doing extra work, he always asks people to buy him a lottery ticket. They should buy lottery ticket/tickets for his job.

His philosophy: ''Mere naseeb me sirf peon banna likha tha.. ab kuch aur banne ke liye doosre ke naseeb ki zaroorat hai.''

Bheema Bai Chakor, also known as BBC, is a common house help cum spy of the colony.

Her area of expertise is not house cleaning or washing clothes but to gossip in and about every house she works.

She is supposed to get the details of that unusual family.

Some 45 year old Yadav is the watchman serving for last 20 odd years in the same branch.

Yadav, a very religious person, living far away from his family keeps on telling others stories about his family living remotely.

Ketaki, pet name Kitty, is the papa's girl. Bright, smiling, carefree child. At the age of 11, she is really happy that her papa comes to drop her and pick her up from the school. Things are going really smooth till now but as Ketaki reaches puberty age, in absence of her mother at home.

Vicky is the naughtiest amongst the 3 kids.

Doesn't go well with his sister and always wants a chance to irritate her.
