So FINALLY I could see the episode...mujhe toh lag raha tha that direct TV par hi dekhna padega!
I have mixed feelings about the episode...I'm not sure where I stand wrt the the way this is going...maybe because Sakshi & Purvi's conversation is incomplete. But one thing I am glad about is that the revelation did not have too much drama...by ITV standards toh kaafi pheeka tha...but I liked it!
Now coming to the episode...I felt bad for Sakshi. Like Purvi, even she has lost her entire world in that moment...her entire life, her existence has slipped out of her hand! Apne liye doosri patni, hamare bachchon ke liye doosri Maa aur iss ghar ke liye ek Mukhiyain le aaye. Her identity was linked to these 3 relationships - and she has lost all three at one go! She is crushed - there is no other word I can think of.
And the way she reacts to Vir touching her was excellently done! Till an hour back, she would cling to Vir at the slightest, now she doesn't want to even stand in his presence!
Aapne hume pyaar se kabhi koi naam nahi diya, lekin aap usse pyaar se bawari kehte hai, aur hamare bachche usse haathi kehte hai! Woh sab kuch hai aapka aur hum kuch nahi hai.
She is heartbroken because she has been replaced in the lives of her husband & children. In the last last 5 years, it is the thought of her family which must have kept her sane...when she agreed to Prakashi's condition of doing whatever she wants, she agreed readily because at least she would see her family again...and now that family has been snatched from her all over again. Sakshi not only feels betrayed, but also her hopes have been dashed.
Yes she does repeatedly call Purvi as molkki...but that is the truth of the situation, in society they are not given the status of wives. I think in many cases they are bought with the sole intention of looking after the needs (physical & others) of the men - so in that context, Sakshi jumping to the conclusion that Vir slept with her is not wrong. And anyway, Vir is married to Purvi, so anyone would presume that they've already become man & wife. Here I felt she did not mean to insult Vir...she just couldn't believe that her husband who had been so enamoured by her has taken another wife!
I liked the way Sakshi holds Vir by the collar...Hamara pati hamara nahi raha, hamare bachchon ke paas doosri Maa hai...hamare paas kya hai...hamare paas kuch nahi bacha hai ab...she has been hurt by the revelation and the rawness of this hurt showed in this moment.
Vir expressions all thru Sakshi's dialogues are very stoic. He does not let any emotion cross his face...he just wants her to vent out all her feelings before he can approach her with any explanation. And only once he feels she has said what she wanted to, then he starts. He tries to explain the situation to her but at this moment, nothing Vir says will be understood by Sakshi...she is not in a state of mind to accept anything from him. But I feel he should have mentioned that though he had not accepted her in the beginning, he has started to love her and also that it was their wedding which was happening when she came. I know Sakshi is extremely hurt - but this omission will only cause more hurt later. This should have been ripped up like a bandage - all at one time!
I also didn't like at all when Vir says Purvi ke saath aaise anyay mat hone de...this is like leaving the decision of their combined fates in Sakshi's hands. I would want Vir to take this decision and stand by whoever he chooses.
But I was glad to see that Sakshi has not forgotten the kindness Purvi had shown to her. Hopefully this is an indication that she will not turn completely negative!
The flashbacks wala scene was really heartbreaking....all 3 of them have become victim of circumstances & the scheming of Prakashi. None of them are at fault but all of them are suffering...and will continue to suffer till this mess is sorted out. Vir...my baby was crying! He is equally hurt as the women...and to add to it, he feels both guilty & responsible for both of them. He loves one, cannot abandon the other...he is unable to see a way of the situation. Of all 3 - my heart went out most for Vir!
Purvi-Sakshi conversation was too short to really comment on. Sakshi is hurt and like most people she is lashing out at the ones she holds responsible for causing that hurt. In future episodes I hope we get to see a more rational Sakshi
All in all - a very good episode I felt! Excellent writing by Saba - the pain of all three was brought out wonderfully, not overdone in typical ITV fashion! There is a lot of scope in this track if Saba decides to keep Sakshi postive which I hope she does. Vir is in focus here - his actions, his decisions are the ines which are going to affect all three lives. I hope they do not make a mockery if his character here
Acting wise - Amar & Priyal completely nailed it! I cried along with Vir and Priyal was there for a very short time but I felt her pain as she narrated how she was betrayed at very stage!
Toral was wayyy better than my expectations! I could connect to her today...and the absence of her OTT look also helped! But she is still has a long way to go in order to match up with Amar & Priyal!
