Mayank was definitely at fault of not having asked his wife about it even once. But Gunjan? She did ask Samrat about it but she didn't give him enough confidence to tell her the truth.

Gunjan's over-reaction can be justified till the point where it became boys v/s girls thing. Why? Well, even though Sam was scared to lose his somewhat returned old friendship-if-not-love, which forced him to lie, yet he shouldn't have lied to her on the day when she eagerly went to apologise to him for forcing her own decision on him. But what happened? He still tried to lie on her face, even when she knew the truth and had come to apologise instead.

But yeah, the point where she goes overboard is when the matter becomes GuNur v/s SaYank, which imo is not justifiable.

She didnt apologise and he didnt know she went to him to apologise so continued lying. If gunjan at that moment had said samrat i know the truth now and am sorry, he wud have stopped lying. But she over reacted.

Still, he should've told her the truth before. Itna drama toh nahi hota baad mein.

Doesn't she say, Main itni bhi buri nahi hoon, Samrat.

Once ... Just once if he would've told her the truth, then she would've had second thoughts about her decision.

Actually, again here the circumstances create a problem. How? See, first Gunjan was away for 3 years. Then, when she came back, she didn't want to have anything with him, let alone love him back. Then, when she fell in love with him again, she still wanted to keep herself from him.

During Career track only, she was willingly mixing with him, though as a friend, if not as a lover. And Samrat wanted to have her close to him, not away. As usual, he chose the easy way i.e to lie. On top of that, he wanted his chashmish back i.e Season 1 Gunjan. But Gunjan was changed. She wasn't able to understand what Season 2's heavily changed yet the same Samrat wanted exactly. Basically, a clash of opinions and ambitions.

Again, a realistic track. In those 3 years, the communication channel between had lost somewhere. They were not able to know about what was going on the other's mind. They simply assumed things. Or in other words, it can be said that they were in a renewed relationship, which was of platonic nature, filled with a lots of confusion.

In a nutshell, they had entered into a superficial friendship, with lots of sexual tension.

So, no one character can blamed. It was the circumstances or fate, which has to be blamed.

I kinda understand why Gunjan did that though. She was very guilty about what she did to Samrat for 3 years and left hopes of being his lover again as she thought there's no way she deserves him after what she did.But she wanted to compensate for her faults,Samrat's life became a mess in 3 yeras due to her so she desperately wanted to bring his life back on track. If u notice she went a lot out of her way to help him do MBA,from fixing his diet n timetable to buyjng books alarmclocks studying with him telling him she'll take his tests. Her effort was really genuine she badly
wanted to do something for him.
While Mayank kinda misunderstood that Nupur too wanted to complete her academic years. He wanted her to catch with the flow and do something big which she could'nt do without completeing her degree.I mean how can u make someone who has adha academic experience a teacher?Wo'nt people accuse Mayank of being partial?Nupur too took that in great spirit though she was really brave to start as a student again👍🏼
Later Mayank did wrong he should've trusted Nupur his tendency to believe eyes over heart has always created trouble.Gunjan was justified to be hurt but I think later she did overreact

And tbh its really tough to have a career in a sports like busketball in India. Its not at all a popular sports here,USA has busketball fanaticism and so the college studs are shown soccer or bb champs in their shows. The way mjht made busketball a hot sport in India was unrealistic colleges focus more on cricket football etc here😕

Have you ever found any similarity between SaJan's story and the video of Taylor Swift's song "You belong with me"?
