CHAPTER - 4

[ PAST ]

Mayank stopped his bike in front of the market and asked Nupur to come down.Mayank parked the bike and then asked,"Nupur...kya tumhe sach mein ghar ka saamaan kharidna aata hai...I mean...mujhe in sab ke baare mein koi knowledge nehi hai...vo Suhaani hi sab kuch karti hai."Nupur lowered her eyes and said,"Ha mujhe pata hai main...madat bhi kar dungi."Mayank was relieved on hearing that and they got inside the market.Mayank started purchasing everything according to the list without bargaining.On seeing this,Nupur thought that Mayank didn't have any single knowledge regarding household things and he would spend all his money on buying those things.At last,Nupur helped him buying proper things with proper quality at proper price.Mayank while coming out with the packets,happily said,"Achcha hua ke tum mere saath aa gayi varna main to pata nehi kya kya kharid kar lekar jaata aur phir Suhaani mujhe raat ko khaana hi nehi deti.Thank God tumne mujhe bacha liya.Is baat par main tumhe ek treat to de hi sakta hu."Nupur asked,"Treat???"She looked almost stunned and confused and Mayank understood that he was getting a bit close to her which was really very embarrassing for both of them.Nupur said,"Vo main...vo main...mujhe ghar...jaana hai."Mayank replied,"Ha ha zarur main samajh sakta hu,main bhi agar apni behen ko kisi larke ke saath dekhunga to mujhe bhi...aur phir tumhaara to koi bhai bhi nehi hai na.Koi baat nehi...main tumhe ghar tak chor deta hu chalo."Nupur hesitantly replied,"Nehi...vo...main chali jaaungi..."Mayank understood that she didn't want him to go with her.So he said,"Tum jaha kahogi utaar dunga par...tum ho to meri behen ki dost na isiliye main aise hi tumhe yaha...akele..."Nupur nodded her head and then agreed to go with him.

Mayank dropped her a bit away from her home.When she reached the door of her home,she started feeling damn scared.She rang the calling bell and stood still with pale face.She started chanting God's name but that was really a bad day for her since her step father Shashi Bhushan opened the door.On seeing him,Nupur was about to fall,but Shashi held her by her waist.He gave a big lusty smile to her and asked,"Aa gayi...beti ghar?"Nupur was shivering out of fear and replied,"Ha ha...ji..."She moved away as she was feeling disgusted when Shashi touched her.She immediately entered inside and locked herself into her bedroom.Indira then started knocking at her door.Nupur was scared thinking that Shashi was knocking and so she asked,"K..k-kaun hai?"Indira replied,"Main hu darwaaza khol abhi."Nupur immediately opened the door and pulled Indira inside and then closed the door.Indira understood and then said,"Vo kameena yaha aaya tha na...Don't worry ab main aa gayi hu na tu fikar mat kar.Main bhi dekhti hu ke vo kaise tujhe kuch bhi karta hai.Tu yahi beth main tere liye khaana lekar aati hu aur ye saamaan bhi mujhe de de."Indira took the bags from Nupur's hand and then went out of the room to bring food for Nupur.The moment,Indira went out Shashi secretly entered inside scaring Nupur.He slowly started walking towards her.He gave a lusty look to her and said,"Itni choti si thi tum jab maine tumhaari ma se shaadi ki thi phir pata hi nehi chala ke kab tum itni bari ho gayi.Jaise jaise waqt beet raha hai tum utni hi khubsurat hoti ja rahi ho.Itni sundar beti ka baap hu,to mujhe to tumhaari nazar utaarni hi paregi na."Just the moment,Shashi was about to come close to her,Indira called him,from behind,"Papa!!!Kya baat hai aapko apni dusri beti par bohot zyaada pyar aa raha hai.Aap mujhe to bhul hi gaye!!"Shashi felt like as if he was caught and said,"Arey...arey re re na...na...na meri bachchi tu to meri hi beti hai.Main to bas..."He again looked at Nupur and replied,"Main to bas iski khoj khabar lene aaya tha,bichaari meri bachchi ye to abhi abhi thak haar kar ghar mein pohchi hai na isiliye iski khair khabar lene chala aaya.Dekho to kitni kamzor lag rahi hai."He held her hands seductively and then Indira came and released her hand from his grip and with a fake smile replied,"Aap fikar mat karo papa main sab thik kar dungi.Main khaana khila deti hu na isko.Abhi aap jaao."Shashi left from there smiling embarrassingly.Nupur hugged Indira and started crying out of fear.Indira tried to console her and said,"Tu ghabra mat main hu na tere saath.Jab tak main hu tab tak ye aadmi tere aas paas bhi nehi bhatkega aur agar isne aisi koshish bhi ki na to main uski haddi pasli ek kar dungi."Nupur replied,"Kabhi kabhi na mera dil karta hai ke main aatmahatya kar lu,ab aisi zindagi mujhse nehi jeeya jaata.Har roz khauff bhari zindagi bitaana phir college jaakar thori si raahat paana aur phir waapas aao to vohi tension.Ye bhi koi zindagi hai,ma se kahu to vo mujhse kehti hai ke main chup rahu.Ma ko bhi dosh nehi deti main par main bhi kya karu,mujhse ye sab bardaasht nehi hota hai."Indira wiped her tears and then said,"Arey aisa kyu sochti hai.Tujhe to abhi bohot kuch karna hai.Tujhe bhi to shaadi karni hai aur phir mujhe maasi bhi banana hai."Nupur gave a smile on this and then Indira teased her to change her mood and replied,"Arey main to keh hi rahi hu ke main Mayank aur Suhaani se baat karti hu aur saath apna raasta bhi saaf karti hu na Sameer ke saath."Nupur said,"Oho to ye bol na ke tujhe shaadi ki jaldi hai isiliye tu mujhe jaldi jaldi is ghar se nikaalna chahti hai."Indira said,"Arey shaadi ke baad bhi to hum dono ek hi saath rahenge na ek hi ghar mein."Nupur nodded her head.

Next day,it was Suhaani's birthday and like everytime,both Mayank and Sameer used to go to the temple and do prayers for Suhaani.While coming back,Suhaani asked,"Achcha bhaiya ek baat to bolo kya maanga hai is baar?"Mayank replied,"Ke teri shaadi achche se ghar mein ho jaaye jaha tujhe dher saara pyar aur khushiya miley."Suhaani replied,"Main itni jaldi to nehi jaane waali usse pehle mujhe to aap dono ki shaadi karwaani hai,aap dono ko settle karwaana hai aur phir main shaadi karungi."Sameer laughed and said,"Ha main bhi to wahi keh raha hu ke Mayank ab tujhe jaldi se jaldi shaadi kar leni chahiye kyuki sahi kaam sahi time par hi kar leni chahiye aur abhi teri shaadi ki umar bhi ho chuki hai."Mayank acted to be surprised and said,"Arey ha Sameer to shaadi budhdhe hone ke baad karega hai na?Teri shaadi ki umar nehi ho rahi hai?"They were going to start the fight when Suhaani intervened and stopped them and said,"Arey aap dono kyu fikar karte hai.Main sab kuch plan kar diya hai.Maine ye socha hai ke main aap dono ki shaadi cheese lauta di ek hi din par ek hi mandap par karwaaungi."Sameer put his hand on her shoulder and said,"Tab to tujhe ye bhi pata hoga ke shaadi ke liye bohot saari zaruri cheezein bhi chahiye hai aur usme se sabse zaruri cheez hai larki.Larki kaha se laayegi?"Suhaani smiled and removed his hand from her shoulder and said,"Don't worry bhaiya maine aap dono ke liye already larkiya dhundh li hai aur aap dono bhi usey jaante hai.Vo hai meri sabse achchi do friends Indira aur Nupur.Vo dono aap dono ke liye paerfect hai.In fact they both like you two.Ye lo naam liya aur vo dono aa bhi gayi."They found that Indira and Nupur were coming to the temple.Sameer,on seeing them,said,"Mujhe Mayank ki waali to thik hi lagti hai par ye iski jo bagalwaali hai na..."Sameer made a weired face and said,"Vo itni ajeeb hai ke...Jab bhi mere taraf dekhti hai to itne ajeeb dhang se ke...kya bolu..."Nupur and Indira stopped in front of them and Suhaani said,"Aao aao dono main tum sab ki shaadi ki baat hi chala rahi thi.Ab jaise mere do bhai mere guardians hai thik vaise hi main bhi apne bhaiyo ki guardian hu unki shaadi to mujhe hi pakki karni hogi na."She introduced Nupur and Indira to Mayank and Sameer respectively.When Sameer and Indira shook hands,Suhaani said,"Aap dono pehli baar mil rahe ho to..."Indira replied,"Kisne kaha ke hum dono pehli baar mil rahe hai..."She held his hand with her two hands and then said,"Mujhe to balki aisa lag raha hai jaise ke hum dono kahi janmo se ek dusre ko jaante hai.Hai na Sameer??Oops main to bhul hi gayi..."Indira acted to blush and replied,"Hone waale pati ka naam nehi lete."Sameer was feeling like as if meeting an alien and he muttered to Suhaani,"Tujhe yehi drama queen mili thi mere liye?"Suhaani too muttered,"Drama queen ho ya kuch bhi par ye aapko pasand bohot karti hai."Sameer made a face and then he moved towards Nupur and asked,"Ye aapki behen aisi kyu hai?"Nupur replied,"Hamesha se hi thori melodrama queen hai.Manufacturing defect!!"Indira too moved towards Sameer and asked,"Aap yaha puja karne aaye the?"Sameer,with a smile replied,"Ji nehi,paraathe khaane."Mayank and Nupur were giggling.On this,Indira got angry and then said to Nupur,"Tu na..."Suhaani said,"Hum sab chalte hai aur Nupur,Indira tum dono ka main intezaar karungi,ek saath jaayenge college mein.Thik hai?"Nupur and Indira nodded their head.While leaving,Mayank and Nupur waved their hands towards each other and Indira said to Sameer,"Main chalti hu...hum phir milenge...bye!!"Sameer,too smiled and waved his hand and replied,"Ha zarur...(muttering) kabhi bhi nehi..."Sameer,Suhaani and Mayank left from there and Indira and Nupur entered inside the temple.
