CHAPTER - 8

One day Mayank and Samrat went for a hangout in Mayank's car.They were driving towards Mayank's farmhouse when they saw a van broken down in the middle of the road and a man was trying to repair it.Mayank stopped the car and decided to help the man.Both Samrat and Mayank got down from the car and Mayank said,"Bichaare ki gaari bohot buri tarah fasi hai re chal chalkar uski madat karte hai."They both went towards the van and Mayank asked the driver,"Kya hua bhaisaab aapki gaari kharaab ho gayi hai?"The driver became a bit scared on seeing them.But,he tried to be normal and replied,"Ha par koi baat nehi hum manage kar lenge."While Mayank was interacting with the driver,Samrat's eyes fall on the passenger's seat where he found a boy of 7-8 years old from a very well to-do family was sleeping.It appeared to him that the boy was rather not sleeping but was unconscious.He was getting very negative impulses from everything.He went towards the driver and said,"Mujhe lagta hai kuch internal problems hogi.Ek kaam karta hu main apne pehchaan ke ek mechanic ko phone karta hu,vo aakar sab thik kar dega."Saying,he very smartly winked to Mayank.Mayank understood that whatever he was doing was all intentionally and these persons were not what they were looking.He agreed to Samrat and said,"Ha ha bilkul aap fikar mat kijiye.Hamaara mechanic aapki gaari ko bilkul jhakkas kar dega."Saying he signalled Samrat and he moved a few steps away and called the police.By that time the boy woke up.He rubbed his eyes and looked around him.His eyes fall on the two men and on seeing them he started crying and said,"Mujhe mummy ke paas jaana hai.Chor do mujhe."Mayank asked,"Ye bachcha ro kyu raha hai?"The man with the driver replied,"Arey chota bachcha hai bhukh lagi hogi na.Ek to aapka mechanic itna late kar raha hai aur upar se hume is bachche ko uske ghar bhi pohchaana hai."He ordered the driver to drive off.The driver was about to reach the driving seat when Mayank grabbed his arm from the back and said,"Itni jaldi bhi kya hai pehle mechanic se apne dimaag ke engine ka ilaaj to karwaalo."Saying he punched on the driver's face and then grabbing his collar,said,"Saaley chote bachche ka kidnap karta hai?Tujhe kya kya laga hume pata nehi chalega tera intention?Hume to bachche ko dekhte hi samajhme aa gaya tha."He then instructed Samrat to take the boy away.The boy's mind was totally occupied with the incidences happening in front of him.He was not in the state to react.When Samrat called him,the boy looked at him with blank expression.But Samrat's assurance and the way how Mayank was fighting with those men,made the boy believe them and so he got down and ran with Samrat towards their car.In the mean time,the police arrived and arrested those man.Mayank gave the statement that the men tried to kidnap the boy and they luckily reached the spot ad saved him.Mayank gave his introduction to the police and also said that he will leave the boy to his home.The police said that he will take the statement of the boy in his home.

After the police left,Mayank moved towards his car and saw that the boy was a bit wounded.He said,"Arey beta aapko to bohot chot lagi hai.Chalo hum aapko doctor ke paas lekar chalte hai."Mayank drove towards the hospital.On the way,Samrat asked,"Beta aapka naam kya hai?"The boy didn't reply.Mayank on seeing this,replied,"Samrat abhi usse kuch mat puch bichaara abhi bhi bohot dara hua hai.Pehle usey hospital lekar jaayenge aur phir usse sab kuch puch lenge."After arriving in the hospital,the doctor did his dressing and prescribed some medicine.Mayank asked Samrat to bring the medicine and in the mean time opened the boy's bag and took out his identity card and got to know about him.While getting into the car for leaving the boy to his home,Mayank asked,"To Karan beta ab kaisa feel kar rahe ho?"The boy stopped and looked surprisingly towards Mayank.He asked,"Aapko mera naam kaise pata?"Mayank smiled and replied,"Aapke school ke identity card se."Karan said,"Mujhe mummy ke paas jaana hai."Mayank said,"Of course chalo hum tumhe ghar pohocha dete hai."Saying,he drove towards Karan's home.

When they reached Karan's home,on seeing him with an unknown person,Suhaani asked,"Karan!!!Tu...is waqt inke saath...Kya kar raha hai?"Karan didn't reply but hugged her tightly and started crying.Suhaani smelled that something bad might have happened with him.She asked,"Ishu!!!Beta kya hua?Aise ro kyu raha hai?Bol na dekh mera na dil betha ja raha hai.Bol?"On his behalf,Mayank replied,"Asal mein vo..."He described everything to Suhaani.Gayatri also came out from her room hearing the noise in the drawing room.Both Suhaani and Gayatri got scared on hearing this.Gayatri hugged Isaan and said,"Hey bhagwaan!Baal baal bach gaya mera pota.Beta tu thik to hai na?"Both the ladies were pampering Karan.Suhaani went towards Mayank and joining her hands said,"Mujhe samajhme nehi aa raha hai ke main aapka kis muh se shukriya ada karu.Aaj aapke vajah se mera beta sahi salaamat mere paas sahi salaat waapas aaya hai.Aap to hamaare liye bhagwaan hai."Mayank grabbed her hand and said,"Please dekhiye aap aisa mat kahiye.Maine to vohi kiya jo mujhe karna chahiye tha baaki to vaha se main guzra isiliye ye sab dekha varna to..."Gayatri said,"Nehi beta aajkal koi apno ki madat bhi nehi karta hai aur tum to gair ho.Tumhaare vajah se hi mere ghar ka chiraag abhitak raushan hai."He smiled and said,"Nehi nehi aunty aap to mujhe sharminda kar rahe hai.""Karaaan!!!!"A voice grabbed their attention.When they turned towards the door,they found Nupur standing there with a horrified expression.She ran to him and hugged him tightly and asked,"Karan tu kaha chala gaya tha main aaj tujhe school lene gayi to pata chala tu to school pohcha hi nehi,kidhar tha tu?"Gayatri said,"Arey beta vo na iska kidnap hua tha.""What!!!Kidnap!!!"Nupur screamed and asked,"Kisne kidnap kiya?"Karan said,"Bua main jab school ke andar ja raha tha na to peeche se do gundo ne na mujhe zabardasti utha liya aur mere naak mein kuch rakkha phir mujhe kuch yaad nehi raha.Jab mujhe hosh aaya tab maine dekha ke vo..."Karan pointed towards Mayank.Mayank was all in all totally shocked to see Nupur right at that moment.He was continuously staring at her from the moment he saw her.On seeing him,Nupur yelled,"Tum!!!What the hell are you doing in my house?"Karan said,"Bua inhone hi to mujhe..."He could not complete and Nupur asked,"What???Tumne mere bhatije ka kidnap karne ki kosish ki??How dare you touch him?"Mayank fall from the sky and replied,"What???Kidnap???Main???Main kya tumhe kidnapper lagta hu?"Nupur said,"Kya bharosa?Vaise bhi log shakal se jaise dikhte hai vaise hote nehi hai.Kya ye koi tumhaara naya business hai?Mujhe nehi pata tha ke tum itne talented ho.Mujhe to tumhaare family ke baare mein soch kar hi bura lag raha hai.Bichaare pata nehi jab unko tumhaare is asliyat ke baare mein pata chalega to unpar kya beetegi.Kisiko pata bhi kaise chalega ke itni achchi family ka beta aisa kaam karta hai.Mujhe to...""Bas!Bohot ho gaya!Ab limit cross ho rahi hai."Mayank raised his finger on Nupur's face and continued,"Tabse bas jo muh mein aa raha hai bole hi ja rahi ho.Main chup hu iska matlab ye nehi hai ke mere muh mein zabaan nehi hai."Nupur put her hand on her waist and asked,"To kidnapper ko kidnapper na kahu to aur kya kahu?"Mayank asked,"Tum mujhe kidnapper kaise keh sakti ho?Are you out of your mind ya subhe subhe pee rakkhi hai?""Excuse me!"Nupur grinned.He too saiod,"You excuse me Miss Bhushan.Usdin to mere ghar mein aakar meri bhabhi ko ghar pohchaakar bari heroine ban rahi thi ab tumhaara asli roop mere hi nehi tumhaare family waalo ke saamne bhi aa raha hai."Nupur yelled,"Tum mujhe apne jaisa gaya guzra samajhte ho kya?"He said,"Gayi guzri nehi par ha paagal zarur ho I mean tumhaare dimaag ke saare screws dheele ho gaye hai aur kya pata gir bhi gaye ho aur tum koi aisi vaisi paagal nehi ho piyakkar paagal ho jo subhe subhe uthkar hi bottle khaali kar deti hai."Nupur was about to say something when Gayatri interrupted and asked,"Ye sab ho kya raha hai?Tum dono lar kyu rahe ho?"Nupur stopped her mother and said,"Ma tum beech mein mat bolna."She then said to Mayank,"You know what vaise galti tumhaari nehi hai jo khud jaisa hota hai dusro ko bhi vaisa hi samajhta hai kyuki apne baare mein hi vo sabse achcha jaanta hai."Mayank agreed to her and said,"Ha ye bilkul sahi kaha jaise ki tum paagal ho vaise mujhe bhi apne jaisa paagal samajhti ho."Nupur pulled his collar and said,"Ab tum mere ghar mein khare hokar mere gharwaalo ke saamne meri beizzati kar rahe ho."He replied,"Oh really!To kya tum abhi tak mere izzat pe char chand laga rahi thi?"Everyone in the house got fed up of their fighting.Nupur said,"Tum aise nehi maanoge.Wait main abhi police ko call karti hu."Saying she called the police.Karan,unable to tolerate more,grabbed Nupur's hand and shouted,"Arey bua aap to mujhe meri baat tak khatam karne nehi de rahi hai.Inhone mujhe kidnap nehi kiya hai balki un gundo se mujhe bachaaya hai aur yehi mujhe ghar le aaye hai."Nupur was totally dumbstruck on hearing this.Mayank gave a mocking smile to her and said to Karan,"Arey nehi beta aapki bua ke dictionary mein kidnapper word ka meaning kuch aur hi hai.Mujhe to lagta hai ke main to shaayad is duniya ka vo pehla kidnapper hu jo khud bachche ko bachata bhi hai aur uska ilaaj bhi karaata hai.Great!Vaise Miss Bhushan kya aap kisi dusri duniya se aayi hai ya drink aap raw leti hai?"Nupur felt sorry for her attitude and she without looking towards him was about to say sorry when the police arrived.It was the same officer who arrested Karan's kidnappers.He said,"Hume Mr Sharma ne hi spot par bulaaya tha jaha bachche ko unhone dekha tha aur humne kidnappers se bhi sach ugalwa liya hai.Ye kidnapping ransom ke liye hui thi.Vaise hum abhi aa hi rahe the bachche ka statement lene.By the way I must say inhone ne bohot hi bahaaduri se gundo ka saamna kiya hai."Saying,he moved towards Karan to take his statement.While the police were busy with Karan,Gayatri was busy talking with Mayank.She asked,"Beta tumhaara naam kya hai?"Mayank replied,"Ji Mayank.Mayank Sharma."She asked,"Kya tum Sharma Groups of Industries..."He smiled and replied,"Ji ha main Sharma Groups of Industries ke maalik Mr Shekhar Sharma ka chota beta hu."Gayatri gave a broad smile and replied,"Arey to tum vahi Mayank Sharma ho.Nupur bolti rehti hai tumhaare baare mein."He gave a mocking smile and said,"Achcha to kuch nehi bolti hogi.Vaise na aunty aap to kitni sweet ho.Ye aapki beti kaise ban gayi?"Gayatri became embarrassed and replied,"Beta tum na iski baato ka bura mat manna.Usko gussa thora jaldi aa jaata hai aur phir na usko hosh nehi rehta."He smiled sweetly and replied,"Ab jab itne pyar se mujhe bol rahi hai aunty to phir thik hai.Aapki beti chahe akal se jaisi bhi ho par aapki beti hai bohot khubsurat lagta hai bilkul aap par gayi hai aur vo to uske bolne par pata chala varna aap to dikhne mein uski bari behen lagti hai."Gayatri blushed and said,"Kya Mayank tum bhi na.Achcha beta ek baat to bataao kya tumhaari shaadi ho gayi hai?"He replied,"Nehi aunty main abhitak kunwara hu."Her eyes glowed with happiness.She asked,"To shaadi ke bare mein tumhaara kya khayaal hai?Mera matlab hai ke tumhe kaisi larki chahiye?"He replied,"Shaadi ke baare mein mere khayaal bilkul bhi nek nehi hai aur agar kabhi dil kiya to larki chahe jaisi bhi ho par bas aapki beti jaisi na ho."Gayatri gave a formal smile.The police left after taking Karan's statement.After that Mayank said,"Achcha auntyji ab main bhi chalta hu.Ok hero bye."Gayatri said,"Arey beta pehli baar aaye ho aise hi kaise ja sakte ho."Nupur asked,"Kyu?Kya hua?Tumhaara damaad hai kya jo khaatirdaari karogi?"Gayatri murmered,"Kya pata ban bhi jaaye."Both Mayank and Nupur asked,"Kya?"Gayatri said,"Ne...Nehi kuch nehi.Arey Nupur isne hamaare Karan ki jaan bachaayi hai aur tu is tarah se baat kar rahi hai uske saath."Mayank said,"Nehi aunty mujhe baksh dijiye mujhe kuch nehi khaana aur vaise bhi aapki beti ke muh se jo shehed tapak rahi hai use mera pet vaise bhi bhar gaya hai.Main chalta hu.Namaste."Saying,he left.

When he came outside,Nupur stopped him and said,"Vo...Maine andar aapke saath bohot gande tareeke se baat ki hai,uske liye Iam really very sorry aur..aapne jo Karan ki jaan bachaayi hai uske liye thank you very much."Mayank looked at Nupur with eyes.He asked,"Sorry!!!Aap mujhe sorry bol rahi hai?Ye kamaal kaise ho gaya?"She didn't reply.He said,"Lagta hai nasha utar chuka hai.Vaise kaunsa brand peeti hai aap?"Nupur took a deep breath and replied,"Mujhe aap se maafi maangni thi vo maine maangli ab aap ja sakte hai."Saying she turned to get inside but Mayank grabbed her hand from her back and pulled her towards himself and said,"You are too beautiful for me to control myself Miss Nupur Bhushan."He removed the strand of hair from her face and said,"Ye nazar kisiko bhi paagal bana de aur koi bhi is surat par has kar barbaad hone ko bhi tayyar ho jaaye.Par vo kya hai na..."He left her and pushed away and continued,"Main to naahi paagal hu aur na barbaad hone ka koi iraada hai.Isliye apna ye attitude na apne paas rakkho varna baad mein bohot mehenga parega."Saying he got into his car and before leaving,said,"Bye Miss Piyakkar Jhagraalu Paagal.Please kahi se apne dimaag ke screws tight karwa lena varna jo bache hai vo bhi gir jaayenge."Saying he mockingly laughed and left from there leaving Nupur frowning with anger.

[ FEW DAYS LATER ]

As decided earlier,the SF send marriage proposal of Nupur and Mayank to the BF through their matchmaker of course without letting Mayank know.All the SF were surprised at this proposal.They wanted some time to think over this.Ashok was very confused at this sudden proposal,but Gayatri and Suhaani were very happy thinking that Nupur will go in such a rich family.They both didn't have any objection regarding this alliance.Gayatri already had started imagining Mayank as his future son-in-law from the moment she saw her.She persuaded Ashok that they are not giving Nupur's hand immediately and there is no harm in meeting them and the rest of the things can be decided after the meeting and they have send a proposal only.She also described how Mayank saved Karan from the kidnappers.After thinking much,at last Ashok decided to meet them.The BF send message of meeting through that matchmaker and a meeting was arranged between the two families unknown to both Nupur and Mayank.

The meeting was arranged in a five star hotel.Both the familes sat in front of each other.Shekhar and Ashok introduced each other and their families.Shekhar said to the BF,"Aap sabko to pata hi hai humne aap sabko yaha kyu bulaaya hai.Main samajh sakta hu achaanak se aisa proposal milne par aap log bohot confuse aur chauk bhi gaye honge.Ye proposal bhejte waqt hum bhi yehi soch rahe the ke kaise bheje par hum sach keh rahe hai ke hume aapki beti bohot pasand hai,isliye nehi ke vo sundar hai balki isliye ke itni kam umr mein bhi usey zimmedaari ka kitna ehsaas hai jo hamaare bte mein bilkul bhi nehi hai."Ashok confusingly asked,"Ji hum kuch samjhe nehi?"Shekhar replied,"Mera chota beta Mayank,sanskaari hai,achcha larka hai lekin vo zimmedaar nehi hai.Apne pero par khare hone ki usme vo chah hi nehi hai par aapki beti is ek maamle mein use bilkul alag hai isliye main chahta hu ke aapki beti mere ghar mein bahu banker aaye kyuki mujhe ye lagta hai ke agar Mayank ko usike tareeke se koi sahi raasta dikha sakta hai to vo sirf Nupur hai."Ashok said,"Tab to aap is shaadi ke baaare mein bhul hi jaaiye kyuki Nupur ko shaadi ke naam se hi bohot chirr hai aur khaaskar aise larko se to usko sakt nafrat hai jinhe apne pero par khare hone ki koi chah nehi hai."Simi said,"Hum jaante hai Mr Bhushan kisi bhi larki ka parivaar apni beti ki shaadi aise larke ke saath bilkul bhi karaana nehi chahega jo koi kaam nehi karta par hum aapko yakeen dilate hai hamaara Mayank bura nehi hai aur bas Nupur hi aisi larki hai jo usey yski zimmedaari ka ehsaas dila sakti hai jo usey uski galtiya sudhaarne mein madat kar sakti hai."Ashok said,"Dekhiye main aap sabki baat samajh raha hu par meri beti..."Shekhar said,"Main jaanta hu aur yehi problem mere bete ke saath bhi hai vo bhi shaadi ke naam se hi gussa ho jaata hai par is vajah se hum apne bachcho ko akela to rehne nehi de sakte na.Isiliye."Gayatri said,"Hum aapke Mayank se mil chuke hai.Vo bohot achcha larka hai aur usine mere pote ko kidnappers se bachaaya hai.Aajkal ke bachche vaise bhi kaha ma baap ki sunte hai meri beti bhi bohot ziddi hai par ek baar agar zimmedaari daal di jaayegi na shaadi ki to mujhe to pura yakeen hai dono usey puri imaandaari ke saath nibhaayenge."Though Ashok liked the family but still he was not willing to agree to this alliance since the person with whom his daughter will be married didn't have any other identity except being Sharma's son.He said,"Dekhiye main chahe khud kitna bara businessman hi kyu na ho jaau par ek beti ka baap bhi hu isliye main aise apni beti ka haath..."Shekhar said,"Main aapki uljhan ko samajh raha hu Mr Bhushan,upar se vo hai aapki ek lauti beti aur yakeen maaniye main bhi agar aapki jagah hota to aisa hi sochta jaisa aap soch rahe hai.Hum to bas aapse beenti kar sakte hai faisla to aaphiko lena hai par ha itna zarur keh sakta hu ke Nupur ko hamaare ghar mein bilkul vaisa hi pyar milega jaisa usey apne maayke main milta hai."Gayatri understood that Ashok was in a dilemma and moreover he was not ready for this alliance,so in order to make up,she said,"Ek kaam karte hai aap sab aaiye hamaare ghar ekbaar Mayank ko lekar ekbaar achche se sab ek dusre se mil le uske baad sab kuch tey karenge.Kyu ji thik hai na?"Gayatri asked her husband.Ashok half mindedly agreed.It was decided that the SF will go to BH next day so that Mayank can meet Nupur.
