Just wonderful butterfly. The forum lost so many voices in the last months, if not year, but yours is missed significantly, its soul is diminished because of it.
True, the weaker gender label. Without taking specifics, for there are many women who could knock some men off their blocks, I have only ever considered this to refer to physical strength. (Maybe that was its origin) for i have seen that men do tend to have this 'man's strength' that added ability to turn screws and lift heavy things, although many women have earned this capability either out of a need ( a need not to burden) or necessity (necessity because men could not, would not help)
If the phrase 'spoken' implies our lack of ability to keep tears in, then I have two more points to add to yours. One, that a man who can cry (appropriately, not only when he can't have his way) is far stronger than a man who can not in my opinion, stronger in that he is not afraid of his feelings. Two. We women only cry one small percentage of those tears, that escape despite ourselves. Thereby taking these two points, who is more stronger, a person who feels nothing, sees nothing, is never moved or touched and therefore NEVER cries; OR a person who is continually moved, touched, notices every bud bloom, every petal that falls, feels every moment and is continually keeping her emotions upon a brim, giving them way to sway and be unrestrained, so that they wash over her soul, whilst keeping a composure of 'the same'. That is what most women do, their face may look the same the moment before and after the thunderbolt BUt their insides have been destroyed. How is that possible without strength? To keep that dam of emotions alive and yet upon that brink. So what if one or two tears escape, there is an ocean of feeling waiting to burst forth at any moment!
Another 'male' member also pmed me about the fact that there are many good female characterizations, and true there are more now, but still I am talking about those females who are not merely central to the story, but rather strong within themselves. There is a difference.
Spinsters too, not just widows, spinsters like myself, NOT that I am saying I am strong, but trying to be, butterfly.
Butterfly, you are always welcome, always wanted. Love Sabah
Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww lovely post👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏.................. I believe tv shows about 15 years ago were far more progressive than the ones made today……..you had a tara a a hasratein then which was probably much ahead of its time………ever since the k serials came into existence the standard of tv shows has only deteriorated………. Far worse was how she projected the female characters be it the protagonist or the antagonist………..mhjt came as a breath of fresh air in an industry which was dominated with these regressive show……as a youngster I could relate to each and every character……..could probably even see glimpses of my personality in them……..you can actually find a mayank samrat gunjan or a nupur around your campus neighborhood etc…….. the beauty in the characters is that they were all very relatable
Shilpa: what can I say about her she is a rockstar mom……a very strong willed & level headed person who perfectly balanced her home & her work…this is exactly how mothers should be like..someone who shares the same wavelength & is capable of looking at both sides of the coin without being too judgmental…. ……..she never denied mayank of anything infact has always encouraged him to live life to the fullest…she is one person who is majorly responsible for making mayank the person he is….a self made man that he is…with a mind of his own…..she gave her son all the required freedom & inculcated in him a sense of responsibility…… she was always this guiding force in his life…….……the mother son bond on the show is probably the best I have seen on tv …..vaishnavi added grace to this character……..understated yet a very effective portrayal…….i don't see anyone else do justice to this character as well as vaishavi did…….its a pity that the industry never took notice to this talented actress before………..
Nupur: she is a child woman…….a free spirited soul who stepped in to Mumbai with dreams in her eyes….she is someone who wears her heart on her sleeves … has stood by gunjan as a wall……always ready to stand in defense of the ones she loves……she was probably majorly responsible for filling that void in gunjan's life after their mother passed away…she always made sure her baby sister had a sheltered upbringing …..……...a fighter in the real sense …..not once did she get dejected by the treatment she was subjected to by her peers when stepped into college……....very strong willed too…someone who achieves whatever she sets her mind on what else could explain her standing second in college inspite of her not having any inclination towards academics………. truly someone who believes in the funda of living life to the fullest… …taking pleasure in the smallest of things…….she is probably the best sister one could have…… whenever I see nupur I miss an elder sis I never had………loved the way rati portrayed this character………
Gunjan: my most favorite character ever…….she was someone who was grown under the shadow of a famous sis……..somebody who always had a sheltered upbringing……these two aspects are majorly responsible for the kind of person she is…….a very kind hearted girl who valued others happiness much more than hers……infact she was someone who always saw good in people……a bundle of talent yet was never an exhibitionist ….very content in life & happy her own space……….… though she is all meek she is an extremely strong willed person … …..someone who had the nerve to stand by her man against all the odds ……somebody who believed in letting go rather than clinging on……she even had the courage to see her love in somebody else's arms & could remain happy in his happiness…….it further testifies her strength as a person ………she filled the void in sam's life with her love….. …….she must have evolved as a person over the years but her innocence & vulnerability are still intact……she has her flaws but at the same time has the nerve to own up to it……I can't image anyone else portraying this character so beautifully…….a very well measured & effective performance……a very good actress who has blown me away with her performance time & again……..love you sanaya
