Gagan, Rach very well said, I didn't get a chance to read everyone's response in here. I would go bit by bit.
Coming to the target point, who is to be accountable for what happened. My answer is kind of ironical, each of them at one point and at another none, just the circumstances.
Mayank: Well he has lost the love of his life and deep down alwaysblames himself for not being able to save Nupur considering that she is no more. He only superficially blamed Samrat but deep down he knew that it wasn't Samrat's fault but circumstances. But he promised Nupur to always take care of her and be there for her but he couldn't. He let himself down and her down, ultimately causing to have lost her.
The tiny fault of his was to not go in the depth of the matter and inquire more about the deathl body and causes. He just accepted the report, not bothering to look at it as well. Then again he was so upset at that time but what about later he could have and now at last he did. Things are not so clear here and neither do i think that they would be really made clear. He thought she is dead and decided to go along with that.
Gunjan: Well the same goes for her as Mayank that she went ahead with what the doctors said and he didn't bother to think that there could be some mistake as the reports clearly was faulty. So she didn't read the report as well. About her loss, ofcourse she has suffered alot and loss not just Nupur but Samrat and a part of herself.
Samrat: Here he seems to be a chap who has been gone through hell, as he not only was blamed by Mayank and Gunjan but he blamed himself the most and tried to kill himself early on as well.
I don't know how to take it ahead, i have just dwelled into the present situation, future would be much more interesting and dynamic to watch than this hopefully if the writers put forward a sensible script.
Nupur: The one suffering the most out of the three is her. Imagine in a place like a trauma center and waiting, waiting waiting that someone would come to take me, ask for me, inquire about me. But no one came and no one bothered, thinking she is dead, in her opinion they have moved on and so has she decided to do so. She i agree didn't have to live with the guilt that someone died because of her but neither did she have anyone to blame, get mad at besides her isolation and emptiness to fall back on.

Have highlighted the point that i had to raise with this Topic .... see its easy to say "Time kharab tha" but then somwehere we too are the one's responsible to make that Time go worse.
I agree Mayank and Gunjan were definately not in a state to find if that what they heard was true. And Samrat already had 3 reasons to not find the truth one ... lossing his best buddy, two loosing his Love his life and three loosing his bro like frnd Mayank'sfrndship too.
On the other hand Nupur .... how do we put her stand .... she was in a state that she might have also not known if she would ever get out of that Trauma centre .... None knew wht fture hold for them and all decided to live Life Alone and they did that.

neither would I want Samrat to forget things easily .....i want him to take advantage of this .... good way to depict human emotions
but then seeing the latest Epi's i feel Samrt would give it away to his friends ..... i want him to for once say it out that even he was hugely affected by Nupur's death but he was more affected when he found no one besides him ... his other friends too left him alone and this made him hate himself more
