And sonya, just to add to your knowledge, there have been times when I was taunted badly by the "other fan group" members for appreciating MN's PBM, while when the same was used on their fav, they automatically termed it as "Pure Love". So what do you have to say to that? It would be best if both fan groups could know that they BOTH hurt each other due to fictional characters.

And I'm not making up stories. I can prove it.

Like I said, you guys are more experienced than I am. So, I don't doubt your claim. I've based my judgement from what I have read and experienced from the time I entered this forum. Like I said I was completely taken aback when I scanned responses to threads like the Samrat-Gunjan Kissing scene. Okay, you could make the argument that my threads were "instigating" at most and invited Mayank-Nupur fans at the very least, but they weren't even invited in the likes of the former one. I don't understand the intelligence behind entering a thread with the sole purpose of spoiling it.

Sonya, the very same could be said about the other fan group. My topic had just been to defend MN Pehli Baar sequence, yet they stepped in, said it was cheap, unethical, and what not. And I did not even bash them for that, to say the least. So it's a two-way thing. We do it because they do it, and they do it because we do it. It's as simple as that.

I'd understand if the topic was closed had I compared two random scenes of Mayank and Samrat. Let's say if I had claimed how Samrat's acting as a trustee is way better than that of Mayank as a professor. Now that's two poles far apart and incomparable. Actually not really incomparable, but I understand how you can render it incomparable given the audience on this forum.

But, here we have a scene played by Mohit who steps down the stage and Arjun steps up to play the not similar but identical scene. Does that not make it valid for comparison? If you had watched that episode then you'd know what I mean. I'd actually say even the creatives wished that we exercise our analytical ability, else why do something like that? The unfortunate thing is that I didn't get to that part on the thread, first the non-sensical responses and then the moderator's decision to close down. I'd have appreciated if the moderator had asked me to explain myself for making that analogy before outright closure of the thread.

Okay now this is for the users:

Now moving to the significance of comparison. It's more than building the reader's interest. The Swiss linguist Ferdinand Sassure concluded that meaning in language is arbitrary and relational. The latter characteristic is the relevant bit here. Let's say you were to define night to a child? How'd you do it? I think the sensible and easy way to do it is by comparing it to the day. So, for one thing, it's the disappearance of sunlight. If we take binary opposites such as love/hate, day/night, male/female, etc, do you see how one defines the other? Okay, now let me end it here before I get criticized for being too theoretical again. So, basically my point is that comparison and contrast is too rooted in our lives to be ignored. Why then do we have this collective hatred for it on this forum? And, let me clarify that I'm talking about constructive comparison, and things like Sanaya is way more beautiful than Rati or vice versa don't qualify.

So yeah DB, I think you guys need to revise your article of comparison, which is not to say that you begin allowing sheer stupidity disguised as comparison. That is, you can add a qualifier to the comparison clause.

it is a comparison...........mohit and arjun are different personalities.......they both have many fans.......and all of them cant have same pov..........making the post the persons on your side , i mean agreeing that yup mohit was good ........will be happy and will tell you you made an awesome post.........while the other side who think arjun was better.........which according to me is the thing......feels hurt..............and tell me dear is this forum made for hurting someone's feelings.......therefore it is a rule that comparisions are not allowed on the forum...........and i took this side........
dear two actors may performing the same scene should not be compared.........i can understand that rude behavior and all and i am gonna comment on it in my next post ......your point that this type of comparison is right is not right according to me.........dear a poll was made recently again.........and it was 13-20 age group which is most in the forum......

Then I'd say, it was quite a short time to make such a judgement.
I 'm not aware of any SG thread I or many of us have entered with the sole purpose of spoiling it and yes, you really need to go back and check the history of the forum before making such a claim.
I had made a post after the Roshini se was aired just to highlight the sudden change in opinion of many SG fans on the show of intimacy on TV. (MN were heavily criticised for Pehli baar and Roshini se was pure love ...now thats what I term hypocirsy)
There were ofcourse some who openly admitted they liked it on their favourites, I have nothing against them
I Still have a problem with somebody who criticised MN again for Pehli baar after zindagi do pal ki was aired, claiming since MN had gone all the way why not sG...somebody else had even suggested that gunjan was wrapped in a bedsheet because her clothes were wet and they had not actually gone all the way. It takes a lot of will power to stay away from posts such as these...
yet u say, its one-sided
ITs never one-sided. thats all I'll say.

Okay, if I had been there in your thread, I'd have condemned the people who had criticized your post for no good reason, and there's no doubt to that. As for your saying that it is a two-way thing, it shouldn't be. If someone's misbehaving,it doesn't give you the license to retaliate in the same manner, because you need to prove that you're different. The very least we could do is consider them 'non-existent.' At the most (my usual tactic if I can't stand it - see I'm giving away my secret), mock them in a subtle way.

I use Sarcasm to get away with all this. Like I said, I never bashed the same very fans who LOVED the Zindagi and Roshni se sequences. I feel proud that I do not take to hypocrisy. It's just funny how your beliefs change if it's your fav couple in question.

Sonya........ if you had been here long enough you would have understood that what you mentioned, though right, doesnt work in the long run. The retaliation had gone to such extent that we cannot really assume the other party to be non existent. After a while, you have to come out and realize that the other party exists and fight. Thats what happened here.

Again just my POV. I have been in this forum for too long and this is purely based on my experience.

Surbhi, that's exactly what I'm willing to do, meaning, remind the overtly sentimental users that they need to get real and change their attitudes be it Samrat-Gunjan or Mayank-Nupur fan.

If I can be critical of Shakespeare, then who is Arjun Bijlani or Mohit Sehgal?

Can you believe I was actually told there is a zone for Arjun-Nupur and a different one for Samrat-Gunjan, so I need to stay in the latter one. I'd thank those for the reminder who think so, but I watch the entire show which gives me the right to comment on anything and everything I see.

Sonya, we've tried to explain the same very thing to every person present here, yet, if you're a fan of one couple, you have NO right to comment about the other couple. Whatever, I don't take responsibility to change their thinking, cause I know it's a lost cause.

I would love to be critical of all characters and actors and not be put into any sort of zone.
